What happens when a man you’ve always hated turns out to be the one who saves you, risking his own life to rescue you from certain death? Lines are blurred. Everything you’ve always thought was true isn’t quite so clear anymore. DaniI’ve always hated Marcus Colter. I have since high school. We antagonize each other every time we meet, and I thought our dislike was mutual, until he ends up saving … dislike was mutual, until he ends up saving my life on a suicide mission to rescue me from my captors, men who would have killed me if not for Marcus. Everything that happens after that successful, crazy, and dangerous mission confuses me.
Turns out, not only is Marcus incredibly brave, but he also has a gruff kindness that I never knew existed. His quiet strength sees me through my pain and fear after he pulls me out of the danger zone.
I’m not sure what to think of Marcus Colter anymore.
He’s still the bossy alpha male who drives me crazy, but I eventually discover that there’s so much more to Marcus than what’s on the surface.
Apparently, I’ve never known the real Marcus Colter.
Maybe nobody does…

Very good book,a page turner!!!!!!!
Loved this book.
Best one in the Billionaire series. I highly recommend.
This is a exciting romance that is surrounded by some dark and harsh realities of the world that makes you stop and think what truly matters. Two strong, stubborn and opinionated people who antagonize each other find a deep, true love that they can no longer deny.
Marcus & Danica’s Slow Burn Is A Mix Of Suspense and Romance! Their Steamy Story Brings A Second Union Between The Colter And Lawson Families. It Leads Into The Lawson Brothers As The Series Continues.
This is the eleventh book in The Billionaire’s Obsession series. Books one through five are centered around Tampa, Florida. Book six is a bridge between The Sinclairs series and this series, but it also shifts the series to Colorado. Here the series continues in Colorado with Marcus Colter and Danica Lawson. Marcus is the fifth and final Colter sibling to find his HEA, and his story has been quietly trickling through his siblings’ stories. Both Marcus and his twin Blake, the oldest of the Colter kids, find love with a Lawson sister. Here Marcus’s best friend Jett Lawson is introduced, and his own story is hinted at as the series shifts to the Lawson brothers in the next book in the series.
The Colter family is well-known for their good looks, genius IQ’s, and billionaire status. Widow Aileen Colter runs the family’s Rocky Springs Resort. Her late husband Russell had died in the 1990’s in an incident while traveling in the Middle East. The oldest sibling Marcus took over for his father, overseeing most of the Colter Corporation’s vast holdings and is often away on business. His twin Blake is a US Senator, sometimes referred to as the cowboy senator in reference to his cattle ranch. Zane works as a research doctor in biotechnology out of Denver. Tate Colter is an ex-SEAL, adjusting to life as a civilian back in Rock Springs after his honorable discharge. He is working hard to overcome his injury. Chloe is the baby sister. She has recently graduated from vet school.
Tate Colter and Lara Bailey find love in Billionaire Untamed, book seven. In their suspenseful story, an ex-SEAL meets his match in a tough as nails FBI agent.
Billionaire Unbound, book eight, is Gabriel Walker and Chloe Colter’s story. It is a best friend’s little sister story with a serious tone. Gabe and Chloe’s story is about surviving and thriving following domestic abuse. Leading into the next book, Chloe’s ex-fiancé James admits before committing suicide to kidnapping Chloe’s best friend Ellie over six months ago. Ellie’s whereabouts are unknown.
Zane Colter and Ellie Winters find love in Billionaire Undaunted, book nine. Their story is about picking up the pieces after living in the face of evil. Zane, who lives inside of his science bubble, snaps into action when Ellie goes missing. Ellie finds hope and healing after living in captivity.
Blake Colter and Harper Lawson’s story in Billionaire Unknown, book ten, is a tender and emotional story about second chances in love and life after confusion tears them apart for twelve years.
The Lawson family came from a town nearby Rocky Springs and they were longtime family friends of the Colters. Matriarch Aileen Colter had been best friends with Mrs. Lawson prior to her passing; the two were like sisters. Although the children had been enrolled in different school districts, they had varying levels of familiarity with one another. The Lawson children sold their parents’ home and moved away following the accident seven years ago, finding it too difficult to remain behind. Danica is the youngest in the Lawson family. She, her thirty-one-year-old sister Harper, and their three older brothers – Mason, Jett, and Carter – inherited their parents’ vast wealth when they died.
In this book:
Marcus Colter, thirty-five, never thought about what he wanted to do with his life. He was in college when his father died in a bomb overseas, and as the oldest Colter sibling (older than his twin brother Blake by one minute), he simply stepped up to take over running the Colter enterprise. His work has kept him busy over the years, and he spends much of his time travelling overseas. He is cold an emotionless, finding it easy to cope by remaining unattached. From time to time his dealing gave him certain information that he knew to be valuable. It led him to the CIA, and he has worked to gather and report information for them since. He has also gotten his hands dirty, organizing rescue teams and missions on hostile soil. His PRO team came to an abrupt end after a helicopter crash caused injuries to the team and brought attention to the covert effort. His best friend Jett Lawson was injured worst of all and was facing ongoing surgeries and rehab. But that hasn’t held him back from an occasional mission when American lives are at stake. That led him to Syria one year ago, where he rescued Danica Lawson from a terrorist group. He kept an eye on Jett’s little sister over the years – she had a habit of inserting herself into dangerous situations overseas, where she was stationed as a reporter.
Danica Lawson, thirty, has always enjoyed adventure. She has devoted herself to her career as a reporter, chasing stories and reporting the truth from the most dangerous places overseas. She is independently wealthy, but feels compelled to make a difference as an investigative journalist. Because she travels so much, she does not have a place to call home. When in the states she often stays with her sister Harper. Danica and Harper’s lives have both changed in the last year, though. Harper is now married and a mother, moving forward with her life. But Danica is still struggling to get past her captivity in Syria a year ago. While her wounds have healed and her panic attacks are less frequent, she still is not ready to head back to work. She doesn’t want to let the terrorists get the best of her, so she is trying to face her fears. Nevertheless, she will never be quite the same. She left her former position and is trying to work freelance while she follows her therapist’s advice. She settles into the Miami vacation condo co-owned by her and Harper, and soon she finds herself receiving attention from local big shot Gregory Becker.
Wherever Marcus and Danica go, danger lurks nearby. The career-minded patriots have worked to make a difference in their own ways, and whether by chance or connivance they have often rubbed elbows over the years. There has been a lot of animosity between them, and if there were ever anything more to it they certainly did not admit it to themselves. Until Marcus rescued her, that is. Dani saw an entirely new side to the control freak in the few days they spent together. But a year passed and they both moved on. But rescuing Danica had deeper meaning to him, and he hadn’t forgotten her in the year that passed since he rescued her. He has also begun to regret missing out on the goings on within the Colter family, especially that he has grown apart from his twin. When he learns from Jett that Danica has become involved with a purported criminal, he drops everything to rescue her once again.
Marcus and Danica’s slow burn is a mix of suspense and romance – which seems fitting for the couple. Danica can’t seem to stay out of danger even while recovering from her trauma, while Marcus’s instinct to come to the rescue is satisfied yet again. Marcus is adorably stiff when it comes to Danica, and it is sweet to watch his hard edges melt just a little. It is wonderful to see him finally get his own story after holding the fort for the family for over a decade. Be ready for a few tears! The couple earns a happy ending.
For those that pay attention to detail, some details in the series do not line up perfectly from book to book. This book picks up in July, one year after Danica’s captivity. But book ten, Blake and Harper’s story, opened in late winter, and in that book Dani was rescued by Marcus days later.
Trying to picture the family and their ages can be tricky. Based on facts pieced together here and in the previous Colter stories, here is a summary of the approximate ages of the Colter kids as this story begins: Marcus and Blake, twins – thirty-five, Zane – thirty-four, Tate – thirty-three, and Chloe, thirty-two.
Marcus and Danica’s steamy story brings a second union between the Colter and Lawson families. It leads into the Lawson brothers as the series continues. The story is well-written and plot-driven. Jett’s storyline adds intrigue and a segue into the next book of the series. The characters are well-developed given the length. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Marcus and Danica, with one section in Jett’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
Marcus and Dani are the perfect compliment of each other. She’s a risk taker, and he’s a by the book alpha male, even though he secretly works for the CIA while he travels for business. When Marcus has to rescue Dani from Syrian terrorists, they are thrown together and sparks fly. As cold as Marcus seems to most people, he has a soft spot for Dani, and has since they were kids. They hate each other, right? No not really. She doesn’t take his crap, and he only wants to protect her. Their passion is off the charts, and when they finally connect, it’s pretty powerful.
Fantastic read.
Marcus and Dani are perfect for each. They both put themselves at risks for others, pretended to be tougher than they are, strong willed and passionate. When they make their minds to do something, nothing stopped them.
Marcus has intrigued me for many books in this series therefore I was really excited to finally read his story. It was everything that I wanted it to be. It had a superb plot which included intrigue, family loyalty, hot sex, heartache, and triumph to name a few. Dani is my favorite heroine in the series thus far. For her to go through the horrific event that she endured and still come out if it with a brave and caring heart for the well-being of the mistreated was remarkable. There us nothing about her that I didn’t absolutely adore. Every single word in this story did it for me. Well done J S. Now I’m on to Jett’s story. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Love it! Marcus and Dani are perfect for each other. After saving her from kidnappers she is now she is deep in trouble again. These two sure do know how to fight but they make up just as good when they figure out they are meant for each other. This is another great one that cannot be missed!
Billionaire Unveiled: The Billionaire’s Obsession, Book Eleven by J.S. Scott. Marcus put his life on the line in order to save Danica from an almost certain death. Danica hated Marcus since they were kids because she thought that he hurt her sister. He saved her from her captors and then she found out that he never hurt her sister, it was a miscommunication about him and his twin brother. I absolutely loved Danica and Marcus’ story and can’t wait to read more by J.S. Scott.
I enjoyed reading this book! Starts out with Dani being kidnapped and how Marcus rescued her. Then the story goes to the present and you learn that Marcus has kept tabs on Dani and now he has to help her. The Story line drew me in and I could not put it down till I was finished. I recommend this book !!!!!
I thought that he was a jerk in the last book and seeing him crumble for a woman was fabulous. Just shows you that the right woman can bring a man to his knees.
Fast read, I feel Marcus and Dani’s story was too short compare to the other books in the series, it seemed like their story was a novella which bummed me out, their story deserved more, all in all it was a good fast read with the drama and hotness level.
Good read
