I lived in the dark for three years. My whole world revolved around the whims and happiness of three men. It was just a trip into the forbidden. A way out of a bad situation and forward into nothingness.Quin, with his easy smile and charming good looks. He was always there for me… Until he wasn’t.Smith, and his dispassionate attention. He was never there for me and he never regretted it.Bric, … regretted it.
Bric, the one who listened, but only to himself. Self-absorbed, self-obsessed, and self-serving. He was never the one I wanted.
And now he might be the only one I have left.
It was good while it lasted, I guess. But it could’ve been so much more. It could’ve been so much better.
And that’s why I’m turning back.

I want me a Quin! Enjoyed that this was a unique read with intriguing characters.
Fairly original plot with some unexpected twists. Some of the characters were interesting. Easy reading
5 “I need him” Stars
Hello, Quin, my old friend.
I’ve come to visit you again.
Yes, I may have sang that, but fuuuuuck. Yes. This book is exactly what I’ve needed to keep me in that reading mood. And JA Huss never disappoints.
It’s not her I want. It’s certainly not him. But another…us. I could go for another round of us.
If you took the ride in Taking Turns, you know exactly what kind of ‘us’ we’re talking about here. It’s the best menage book I’ve read. Turning Back is no joke either. I might even like this more because of the fluidity, the beauty, the comfort between Bric and Quin.
“He’d be my friend again. You’d be my lover. We’d be what we were, Rochelle. But we’d be better.”
Better. Who will be better? Quin? Rochelle? Bric? Is this plural relationship going to work? It’s worked for so long, but what happens when they desire something more or something else entirely?
I look at him as he comes. His eyes are open. Staring right at me. Reminding me of what I’ve been missing this past year.
It’s been a long year. When these three come back together it’s nothing short of a dance. The choreography is set, the moves are perfected, the players move on feeling and instinct. You can feel what they are feeling, you can imagine yourself in any of their roles, you want to be Bric. Quin. Rochelle. You want this plural relationship more than your next breath.
He wants to hurt her right now. And he’s going to use me to do it because he’s not into the punishment stuff–and I am.
Fine. He wants her punished, I’ll punish her until he’s had enough.
Bric is the punishment guy. Quin is the carefree romantic. But what do you do when you hurt and you want the person who hurt you to feel pain? This is the best example of how these three have relied on each other over the course of their relationship. It’s a great example of how Bric and Quin work together.
Her eyes are closed in ecstasy when I lean down kiss her. Kiss him. Kiss them both.
This second book brought out impatience. I was kind of tired of Quins issues, but I did find it interesting the dynamics of Quinn and Bric. This story line seemed to drag for me. I was hoping for a different ending, but all in all it was good.
What can I say except that J.A. Huss never disappoints! If you haven’t read Taking Turns you must before diving into Turning Back. This book was sexy as f@*k, hot as hell with a little sweet thrown in. I was happy that we finally get to read about Quin, Rochelle and Bric. Their story is full of drama, secrets and emotions that leave you hungry for more. After reading this book I’m so excited for the next book in the series!
This is Quin story… It was confusing because the whole story made you feel Bric was the best man to have the HEA.. the whole book Quin was an A to Rochelle and he didn’t show much interest in the baby.. BUT what I love about the story is, in this book we can see how Quin and Bric love each other in a way.. it was nice to read how the interaction between the three had love.. the kisses between Bric and Quin!!! Damn!!!!!!! So good the author put that part of them too..
Quin, he was angry all the time.. it felt like he was in constant struggle and he wasn’t enjoying the menage.. he didn’t let his guard down a little to feel the love..
It was good, it was just a little confusing for me, specially because I love Bric and I love how we got to see another side of him in this story…
This is the second book in this series and just like the first it did not disappoint and kept me hot and bothered in the best way. I actually fell in love with Bric on this story and I can’t wait for His Turn.
So, we finally meet the elusive Rochelle, heartbreaker extraordinaire.
The rules of the game are simple, if you leave, we will not follow and there’s no coming back.
Until she does and it’s no longer a game.
These three men, Smith, Bric and Quin are so complex, I wouldn’t call them damaged and broken, but they do carry a lot of baggage around and the choices they’ve made make sense to them, it’s how they manage and protect themselves. And the way they protect and love each other is a true testament to the superb talent of JA Huss. I have never experienced a story where the male characters sacrificed and hurt so much for each other. They are brothers by choice and truly feel deep love for each other. I am enjoying getting to know who they are outside of the game.
Smith and Chella are making their life, I love the new facets of Smith’s personality…”rat-dogs” and fighting with “thugs”, these were some of the best laugh out loud moments of this book, and from Smith no less!
Bric, still the same self-absorbed, self-centered a$$, but his love for Quin and his attempt to help, backfire in epic fashion. The way he bonds with Adley, amazing…how can you not love a guy who has a heart like that…and he calls her “pumpkin”…aahhh <3
And Quin, one year later, still heartbroken and confused, estranged from Bric, but resigned and attempting to move forward with work and routine...and then she's back. He still loves her, but he doesn't trust her. So many lies, so many misconceptions, so many secrets.
I love this family of characters, so many feels...they love, they hurt, they get angry...their emotions materialize and leap right off the page into your very soul. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you Julie, for a truly enjoyable journey with these men.
I was provided an ARC which I voluntarily read and reviewed.
JA Huss never disappoints.
So we started this game with 4 people (3 original and 1 surprise players), now we have 3 people (3 original players). Although this book focuses on Quin and Rochelle. There are bites of appearances from Bric but he is there to help Quin and Rochelle rekindle their relationship.
This book was indeed hot as fuck. I loved it and enjoyed it. This was the second book I read from J.A. Huss and let me assure you that I wasn’t disappointed at all. Definitely worth 5*****
Turning Back (Turning, #2) by J.A. Huss is not your typical love story. It’s a menage that is twisted in so many ways, and has you glued to the pages. I had a really hard time putting this book down, especially after I got to the halfway point. You definitely need to read the first book in the series before reading this book or you will not understand what is going on. I loved the first book, I loved this book, and I am so excited for the next book. In this book Rochelle, Bric, and Quin, meet up again, but I don’t want to say anything more because I feel that I would be giving too much away. I’ll just say that there is hot sex, and there is romantic love, and I really enjoyed all of the twists and turns in this book! I highly recommend it!
Ha!!! Another freaking fantastic book from Julie Huss!!! Book 2 in the Turning series, they must be read in order.
So this book is all about Bric, Quin and the return of Rochelle. In the first book we learned all about the game and how its played. But Rochelle up and left suddenly, and this second book is where we get all the answers from Rochelle on just what was going on with her.
But things aren’t the same between the three of them! Quin is a helluva lot angry at Rochelle, he wants her to feel his pain and he doesn’t trust her anymore. Rochelle is more than sorry for leaving, but just wants Quin, but is willing to play the game again with Bric to get to Quin. Bric of course is just the player, and wants the threesome back together.
But things are very different. Quin is not the loving easy going guy Rochelle left. Now throw the fact there is a baby involved, and either of them could be the father and things start to get a little complicated!!
And holy hell there are some hot scenes in here!!! When the three start playing again – whew!!! But what really got to me was the familiarity between Bric and Quin – they know each other inside out, what works for each other, what gets each other off – they don’t draw any lines when they play together, and boy that is just scorching for me!!
Smith and Chella feature in here also, and I love how they have changed to their now couple relationship!! Smith had me laughing out loud with the dogs!!
But the dynamic between Bric, Quin and Rochelle is changed, things are very different, and things don’t go as planned. Bric stole my heart in this book, as much as I enjoyed Quin and Rochelle, Bric was just fabulous, and as such can’t wait for book 3!!!
Another fabulous read, utterly enthralling, captivating, unputdownable!!! A must read!!
I adored both Quin & Bric in this book. Bric showed a much softer side of himself in this book. Rochelle, Bric & Quin decided to give a relationship a try with just the three of them. While I thought they all may last together . I was happy to see Quin & Rochelle get there happy ending complete with baby Adley.
I expected so much out of this book and Ms. Huss gave me everything I wanted and MORE. Don’t let the plural fool you, at the heart of TURNING BACK there is a unique and heart warming love story. With Rochelle back in town, the readers get to see very different sides to both Quin and Bric. I adored the fact that while the trio had their adult time, the book was majorly story driven. I cannot wait to read HIS TURN.
Ok first of all holy crap!! JA Huss you are an amazing author. I loved Taking Turns but Turning Back brought my love to a whole new level. My heart was broken for Quinn in Taking Turns. Now it’s broken for Bric. Obviously Quinn & Bric couldn’t both me the father but the fantasy part of me wanted the 3 of them to live HEA together. But then there’d be no third book, right?!
