I must admit I really enjoyed this book. Hannah was a bit abrasive but I actually liked her. I felt for Cody and his backstory. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
This was another title I picked out from Prime Reading. I hadn’t read anything by this author before, but I had seen several that appealed to me and I added to my “to read” list.
This is a classic story, many times retold, of the girl who get someone to pretend to be their boyfriend for whatever reason, (status, to make someone jealous, etc.) and then they end up falling for each other for real. What made this one different was the torment the male MC was going through based on past events that slowly come to light throughout the story. There was a sort of mystery going on and the reader can tell almost from the get go that all was not as it seemed. Even I was surprised at the shock toward the end, though. I saw part coming, but there was a revelation that I don’t think many will predict.
The only reason for my 4 star rating rather than 5, is that I found the ending to be a bit rushed. I would have liked a bit more detail on the fall out of the uploaded video and some time spent on what happened going forward. Other than that, this was a stellar read that kept me riveted.
High school senior Hannah has one month to make lifetime high school memories. 1st step-get a boyfriend. Little does she know the boyfriend part is going to be a lot more complicated than she planned.
This book was available through prime reading, and I thought it looked pretty interesting. I ended up really enjoying it. Hannah Stark is a smart, driven senior in high school. She aces everything she does. The only problem is that she has completed high school without experiencing it. This book is set up with the cliques that is in every school. The preppy kids are called the “Goldens.” These teenagers were basically born with a silver spoon. Hannah recruits Cody Matthews, notorious bad boy, that was dropped by the Goldens bc of drunk driving and his girlfriend dying. It is your basic romcom, which I adore, bad boy, not really bad, meets good girl and they fall in love. Of course, there is a lot of angst along the way. There is a big twist in this book, which I found very well written. I look forward to reading more by this author.
