Recovering in the tiny apartment of the hot, soft-hearted woman who rescued him is a fine solution while “Fella” figures out why he was bleeding and abandoned in an alley, though the bigger issue might be that he is convinced he’s not actually a dog.Accidentally bringing home an injured werewolf with amnesia is looking like the least of Asheville chef Natalie Richards’ problems as break-ins … break-ins plague her restaurant and the mutilated bodies of local women start turning up in the nearby state park.

Past Imperfect by Rowan Worth is the story of Natalie and Ripper ‘Fella ‘.
Natalie finds Fella a wolf/dog hurt and takes him home but Fella is actually a shiftier with memory issues after being hurt. But Fella quickly becomes protective of Natalie since there is danger at her door.
Enjoyed reading their story.
My Thoughts – 4 out of 5 Unicorns – I really liked it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I will buy this book in the future, but I must wait until after I pay for my son’s college classes!
The cover is a nice mix of wolf and people. I think I’ve seen the people before, but I’m not positive. The symbol around the book title looks cool and reminds me of being celtic.
This is the first book in a new series by a new author. It is for adults only due to the steamy content.
This book was full of action, mystery, and intrigue. This is a big book, and I was surprised because it just kept going and not in a bad way. The book jumps straight into it with Natalie find a huge hurt stray in the alley at work. Fella is not really a stray; he is a shapeshifter with amnesia (really bad amnesia at that). This story was very interesting and kept turning and twisting. Bad guys all over the place interfering with 2 businesses, and a serial killer who is killing women. I loved getting to know Natalie and Fella, this new world, and the other characters. You should be aware everything is not resolved in this book, and I’m sure will continue in the next book. I only tell you this because this may bother some readers.
Rowan’s style is easy to read and compelling. I can’t wait to read more of this series in the future.
I recommend to any shifter fan who likes mystery and intrigue where you aren’t quite sure what will happen next!
Past Imperfect – the first book in The Foresters series is a gripping tale full of magic and romance with wonderful characters and dangerous enemies.
Natalie and ‘Fella’ are strong and charismatic characters that readers find easy to connect to and understand as they drawn into their story. Their relationship starts off with a bit of confusion, misunderstanding and emotional turmoil that sucks readers in and refuses to let go. There is plenty of sweet courtship but lots of sizzling chemistry and heated passion that readers can sink to their teeth into as well.
The plot is steady to fast paced and full of intrigue, danger and excitement which keeps readers on the edge of their seats and gets the reader’s adrenaline pumping. First you have a wolf/dog that has is a bit confused as to why he is what he is and then becomes a man with amnesia whom needs to stay in human form if he is going to keep Natalie alive from a serial killer and some mysterious attacks that are plaguing Natalie’s restaurant. Then ‘Fella’ discovers that he has family and a pack and that there is a lot more going on that they thought and some surprising twists to keep them all on their toes along with the readers. And let’s not forget about the Wizard and magical elements that spice up this exciting story.
The author has created a fascinating and well developed world that has some wonderful characters that readers will really want to get to know, I certainly intend to get to know them all. The story held me in its grip from beginning to end and it has a few uniquely intriguing elements to the pack dynamics that changes things up a bit from other shifter stories.
