I’ve devoted myself for the past six years to my dream of being a social worker. My very first case are the Monroes, and professional and personal boundaries blur as I become closer to them. Now my dreams are of Dylan. The attraction Dylan and I have is heading us straight to unsocial behavior.

HOLY CRAP!! This was the first book I have read by Nicole I was sucked it from the first page! I cant even begin to explain all the feels I had reading this from happiness, excitement to heartbreak. Dylan and his family are going to the wringer and as much I wanted to cry it was amazing to see unfold. I love watching Dylan grow and take responsibility for his life and that of others. Brooke is a an angel sent to help them through some of the worse things of their life. I highly recommend reading this book and series
I loved this book. The chemistry between Dylan and Brooke just sizzled off the pages.
Sexy, heart-warming, a romance that gives you more than just one couples growing love for each other. Brooke is tasked to help the Monroe family find their way out of a huge tragedy as their social worker. Of course, Dylan initially sees her as the enemy, keeping him from having guardianship of his siblings. Yet, as these 2 learn to work together, they find something even greater as Dylan works to become a great parent to his siblings, could he find love at the same time? Brooke has always longed for a big family after facing her own tragedy as a child. She was fortunate that her grandmother stepped in and raised her but it was always just the two of them. The Monroe’s grab Brooke from day one and she wants to do everything she can for this family to succeed but will she get to fulfill her own dream at the same time?
I enjoyed meeting Dylan and Brooke, they felt like friends as they navigated the complicated waters of adulthood while love pulls them toward each other. The challenges of balancing careers with family is difficult at times but together, we see a strong team evolve that builds something amazing out of a tragedy. Not just a beautiful romance, but also a wonderful journey of finding your direction in this thing we call life.
First off this book is a beast! Over 750 pages of goodness. This is a heart breaking but sweet love story. Not just your typical love story but a family love story. I have heard nothing but good things about the Monroe series and I have to say I am not disappointed in the least. You almost instantly fall in love with the Monroe’ kids and their brand spanking new Social worker with the heart break of losing their parents only adding to the pull. Dylan, the estranged bad boy, gives you pause but when the crabby judge tries to make his life hard you instantly feel protective. This is a emotionally charged but sweet romance that will envelope you and have you pom poms coming out to root for this family and Brooke. I would like to add that this story includes tons of social work situations and brings to light the live abs the struggles that go into that profession. To me it’s an Angels job because so much of it is thankless hard work that is met with resistance. I just love that it was so well written and enlightening.
This is a great start to a series. The characters are likable and relatable. Stepping up to care for his siblings the last thing Dylan expected was a sweet and sexy social worker who becomes an integral park of their lives.
Her first solo case now she is fully qualified will test Brookes professionalism as the Monroe family work their way into her heart.
I would say it’s quite a long read but worth it.
When life flips you upside down I hope I would have half the strength this family had to pull themselves together. I loved this story and recommend it to others.
Unsocial is a story that introduces us the Monroe family. Dylan has been living his life in Oklahoma when he receives a call from back home. His father and step-mother were killed in an accident and he must go back to see to his brothers and sisters. Brooke is the social worker assigned to their case. Trying to keep things professional could prove to be harder than you think. I really enjoyed this story. I can’t wait to dive into the next one.
Nicole Dykes is a goddess..The feel..ohhhh the feels!!The anger,sadness,anxiousness,frustration,happiness..All of them are worth the joy that comes from reading Dylan and Brookes story! The Monroe family is one you will fall head over heels with. With every page they will go from being “a family” to being your family.A definite page turner that will have you shutting out the world for just one more chapter…and another..and another lol Definetly looking forward to book 2!
This book makes me believe in love again. It lets me see that love can conquer all and work out to get your happily ever after. I loved Brooke’s character because she is brave, loyal and kind. Dylan comes off as your typical bad boy, but proves he gets what he wants in his relationship with Brooke. These 2 characters have a steamy relationship that makes you wish it was yours.
Dylan and Brooke are thrown together due to circumstances out of their control. They have attraction from day one, but fight it (or at least Dylan does). They have one crazy night to get it out of their systems, but it never works out that way. One of the kids has become a handful and finds them out. In the end, all ends well and they get their HEA (with a continuing story I hope).
I loved this book and It included all the elements of a romance and has all the steamy parts you love. Buy this book today (or read it in KU).
Unsocial is only my second read from Nicole Dykes and I loved it!! Dylan Monroe is living his life, running a successful business with his best friend Jax when he gets a phone call from Child Services that his father and step mother have been in a fatal car accident and goes back to Kansas to gain guardianship of his brothers and sisters. He has an uphill battle, first with the judge in court, then having to deal with a social worker. Brooke Porter is starting her first day as a social worker and her first case is Dylan Monroe!! Brooke has a big heart, and wants to do everything she can to help ensure Dylan gets guardianship. The more time she spends with the Monroe’s the more she starts to care for ALL of them. Jax, and Alex who is Brooke’s best friend notice that lines are starting to blur, and are very vocally against this thing that is developing between Dylan and Brooke, and that they can’t act on whatever is going on between them, until Jax suggests that Dylan should be with Brooke one time to get her out of his system. Dylan likes the idea, but will Brooke? Will one time be enough? This book was awesome, and you also fall in love with all the Monroe’s!! There were times you want to smack certain people…especially Jax and Alex, even though their hearts were in the right place, the methods they used may not have been the best, I did really like them. Nicole is so talented, I am so recommending this book, and excited to read more from her!!
