A bloody path has been chosen… except the one woman who might be his final chance at redemption. Josie will do anything to prove that Seth is on their side, but fate has a nasty way of changing lives, of changing people.
In the end, the sun will fall…
The only way they can save the future and save themselves is by facing the unknown together. It will take more than trust and faith. It will take love and the kind of strength not easily broken. No matter what, their lives will never be the same.
For what the gods have feared has come to pass. The end of the old is here and the beginning of the new has been ushered in…

The Struggle is the third book in the Titan series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. Ahhhhh this book was just so good I just didn’t want to put it down. I was just drawn back into the wonderful world with Josie and Seth. I just loved getting to see more of their journey and I was just entranced with everything that was going. I was just on the edge of my seat trying to see what would happen next. This series just keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
“For what the gods have feared has come to pass. The end of the old is here and the beginning of the new has been ushered in. For the sun child and the new god will give birth to a new era and the great creators will fall one by one, reshaping our homes and hearths, reaping man and mortal alike.”
“Love means you’re gong to be there for each other even when it sucks. Love means you’re going to have each other’s back and trust the other person will be there for you.”
The Struggle picks up where The Power left off. So, Seth has become the God Killer and afraid that he’s going to end up hurting Josie he leaves. We find almost immediately that there is a prophecy and that Seth is in fact now a god! We also find out exactly what the repercussions of killing a Titan are because the ground cracks open right in the spot where Atlas was killed and scorched daimons begin climbing out of Tartarus. And all of this happens in the first 2 chapters! Let’s just say that this book is fast paced and you should prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride.
I absolutely love the character development in this book, especially since Seth really comes into his own. He finally realizes that he has made some bad, and frankly stupid, decisions and what the consequences of some those decisions are. He also owns up to the mistakes that he’s made and he starts making smarter decisions. His reaction to learning a certain piece of information is just the reaction that you want for him to have, and it is everything! His relationship with Josie keeps growing and evolving and it’s such a wonderful thing to see. Speaking of Josie, that poor girl goes through hell in this book. Some of the things that she has to go through are horrific and inevitably causes her to have nightmares. But Josie wouldn’t be the awesome character that she is if she didn’t end up coming out of it stronger than before. Her love for Seth and her faith in him is incredible and even though his actions have hurt her she still fights for him and for their love. She knows what she wants and what she’s willing to accept and I love that about her.
I also loved seeing the Army of Awesome back together. Deacon, Luke, Aiden, and Alex are characters that I have loved since the Covenant series and getting to see them in this series is always fun.
This is such a fast paced and packed book that I didn’t want to put it down. I loved every second of reading it and i’m excited to read the last book in this series.
“Loving him didn’t mean I wasn’t disappointed in his choices – that those choices hadn’t hurt me. Loving him didn’t mean he could keep making those choices and I would keep forgiving him. Loving him meant that I knew from the first moment that I fell for Seth that he was complicated – that loving him wouldn’t be easy. Loving him…well, it meant that I was willing to fight for him.”
“There was always something about the way he kissed me. Like it was the first and last time. There was no hurry, no rush. If he’d never said he loved me, this kiss told me he did.”
(Reread Review)
This review may contain some vague spoilers, not detailed plots, but still spoilers.
The Struggle picks up where The Power left of. You know? When Seth goes nuts, becomes the God Killer, kills Atlas and then escapes? Yeah things are a mess, Josie is determined to go after Seth, she believes in him and knows he would never hurt her, she convinces the gang to go with her, but things are never that easy. First of all, killing Atlas has consequences and we learn why the Titans need to be entomb and not killed. Then some major bad things happen…..and Josie sees herself in a not really bad situation.
In the meanwhile, Seth leaves thinking after the show down with Atlas the Titans will lay low, he leaves thinking that Josie will be safe and that he is a threat for everyone specially Josie, because he cant control the need inside him, the need for eather. So Seth goes to his childhood home to get away, to protect everyone from him, like Josie believed he would. And when he gets there, and after a period of time of Seth being…well Seth he starts to learn a few very important things… some major bombs are drop that explain so damn much!!!
There is a prophecy involved, you know, the one from Covenant? Except there is a lot grandma Piperi didn’t say, this new prophecy and Alex’s one are connected, in a way they are the same, and all of this to get to a certain point so something could happen. The foreshadowing strikes again! When I first read Covenant and Titan and didn’t pick up details that now I’m like Jen basically told us everything and we didn’t see it! Because there is foreshadowing that comes from way back to Covenant series! And I don’t know if Jen did it on purpose on Covenant or if she adapted Titan prophecy and plot around the Covenant prophecy that already existed but wow it word perfectly! And I gotta say I knew my man was special eheh.
Of course Seth is not happy about some of the things he learns….but he starts to learn to realize what he become what that exactly means and in the middle of that his need for Josie is still there and so is his love for her. He starts to be able to separate his need for Josie from his need for her eather now that he knows why he always craved it. He is still afraid of himself around her, but his need to check on her wins and that’s how he learns the big bad news.
Josie on the other hand is in hell, things are not easy for her and its horrible what happens and what could have happened. But we know Seth would never give up on his girl!
Once she is back it’s a mess, Josie has been through hell and back and things just seem to be adding up! She has Alex to help her, which is amazing, because they become good friends and I love that! Aiden and Alex keep appearing a lot and its amazing to be able to see out beloved Covenant characters so much! Luke and Deacon appear too and continue to be the amazing characters they are! Marcus is there too, so is Colin and now we have some new characters… On the other hand, Solos absence still, hurts! Oh! And there is surprise character at some point of the book, that arrives with a very important job. And its so nice to see that character!
After a while, after Josie gets better, after she and Seth resolve some issues and everyone is up to speed on what is happening and what Seth is now we go back to the University and things just keep coming, because they can never catch a break!
Also, Josie finds out something! And there are some incredible sweet moments and I was completing melting at one point.
Apollo on the other hand keeps wining the bad father award of the year and Josie has now, more then ever, reasons to be mad at him, and gosh I know why he is acting the way he is and its not fair and I don’t agree with that logic! Apart of me wants to be mad at him and the other can’t!
Almost at the end something happens that will have consequences…really bad consequences and Seth starts to realize that like spider man with this new power comes great responsibility. I love the way he grows up in this book, he is still Seth the bad boy jerk but he is more responsible now. Seth did a lot of awful things in his life but he is becoming better man and a good part of it its because of Josie because she always believes in him, because she is the first person to fully love Seth and accepts how he is and what he has done without judging him, and none of that makes her love him less. Josie is a fighter in her own way, and she is incredible. Even when she completely spaces out or talks about the most random things. She is also pretty smart she helps with and finds out a lot of stuff.
The ending, for a change its not an OMG moment, mainly because you probably already figure that out with the clues we get along the book, but it’s still a very monumental and important moment.
Basically, this book has a lot going on, you can’t catch a break without something major going down and its amazing! Things are building towards the end and they have so much to lose in a fight that in not going to be easy!

Please note: This review may contain spoilers for the Covenant series, please don’t read any further if you don’t want to be spoiled! The Titan Series is an adult spin off from the Covenant series (young adult). I like this book wayyyyy better than the previous two books, hence the 5 stars. I feel like the plot is getting way more interesting and I am so curious to read and see how Jen takes it further. There were some unexpected twists and turns I did not expect at all! I feel like Seth is finally developing himself and is maturing in this book. I also liked the pace way better of this one and I feel like the action was better in this installment. Again, I love the side characters, I loved the banter between Aiden and Seth, instead of feeling like they are enemies, I feel like they are growing on each other and are more and more like bickering brothers. As you might have noticed, I have a lot of feels about this book, but I promise you they were only good feelings. Looking forward to see how Jen will wrap up this series.

The Struggle is the third book in the Titan series by Jennifer Armentrout. I found myself, once again, unable to put the book down. The characters are like old college friends. The story grabs hold of you and refuses to let go. And the love that is progressing between Seth and Josie is breath-taking. Their road is still full of obstacles, and they still have the world to save, but watching them together makes me warm and fuzzy inside. This is definitely a not-to-be-missed series.
I must say that The Struggle is probably my favourite installment yet. It made me feel so many different emotions; irritation, giddiness, compassion. Everything the characters went through, I felt like I went through it myself.
There were moments that made me feel so angry and upset and my heart ached for Josie and everything she has suffered in this book. Her anguish really shredded my heart and I desperately wished for Seth to show up and make everything better.
It truly breaks my heart to see how Seth views himself – as a monster who is not worthy of love and affection. But through his actions you can see how much growth he has undergone and how much he has matured. While he is still the cocky Seth we fell in love with, he became much more than that. And I love how Josie is always there to remind him of the fact that he deserves everything that she has given him.
Thank heavens for Deacon to keep things light. I honestly love him so much and I am jealous of Aiden for having such an amazing brother. You can always count on him to lift your mood up with his funny comments, even when they are often times utterly ridiculous.
This book is one hell of an emotional ride and definitely worth all the tears I’ve shed. And if you haven’t read this one yet, I recommend to read it, right now! Jennifer has few tricks up her sleeve that you will absolutely love.
4.5 Stars. Seth made me angry a lot in this book. Don’t get me wrong, I still love him, but he realized he was wrong and corrected his actions just a little too late for me. Josie went through A LOT and he has a lot of making up to do. I hope he makes up for it in the next book, but I feel like he will. I am so interested to see where this all goes. I love these two.
Seriously freaking good. I never expected that I would like Seth as much as I do in this series. It’s amazing what the author has done with his character. He’s the same, but not quite. There are great moments of selfishness displayed certain times throughout the series, which I found annoying, but he started to seriously mature.
I find all these crazy gods interesting though! Even if I want to punt Apollo in his you know what!
J.L.A has done it again! I don’t think I’ve ever read any books written by her that isn’t worth 4 or 5 stars. She’s a master of capturing her readers in her stories, and boy, did she capture me in the struggle!
What made me fall in love with her books is the strong hilarious personalities, heartburning romance and page ripping drama. I just can’t get enough, and the struggle was like a caffeine fix. It simply had it all that I love in a story. The fact that she even involved Alex and Aiden in the story made it perfect. I cannot wait until the next book!

Favorite Quote: “I’m not leaving you. We’re in this together, Josie … If there is anything in this world, there is us.”
Review:
This one might be my favorite in the series so far. We really see Seth stepping up but we also see him settle. He becomes calmer, more himself. As if he finally found his place in the world. It’s very nice to see.
What is this book about:
This book starts after Seth left in the previous book. Josie was taken by the titans and it probably isn’t for a nice chat with a cup of tea. Hell is breaking loose and things are looking like an apocalyps movie. Zombie’s aren’t just a movie character anymore, no those fuckers decided to become real.
Seth is on his way home, far away from the ones he cares about because he doesn’t want to hurt them anymore. When he gets there he finds out more about what he really is, as hard as it is to believe, seth finally embraces his true self.
When he finds out Josie is taken by the titans he’s willing to burn this world and the next down in order to find her and keep her from harm.
While Seth is looking for her Josie’s stay with the Titans is far from a nice relaxing holiday on the beach. No the titans are cruel and get off from feeding on her and torturing her.
Will Josie be able to hang on long enough for Seth to find her or will Seth loose yet another person he loves.
What did I like/love about this book
I loved seeing Seth more settled. I loved finding out what he is and it makes so much sense to me. He is a great characters and I’m a 100% in love with him now.
I really love Josie, she grew so much. Became such a strong girl.
Can’t wait how their story turns out.
Rating:
5 Amazing Stars
I’ll keep my review for The Struggle short and sweet for many reasons, but not the least of which is I don’t want to run the risk of spoiling this storyline if you’ve not yet read this series. (Which, if that’s the case, what are you waiting on?) One of the other reasons I’m keeping this pretty short is because it’s been ages since I finished it and I’ve already reviewed the next book, The Prophecy. I just didn’t feel right NOT reviewing this one, even if half my review consists of quotes I loved.
I’m really, really glad I waited to read The Struggle until I had The Prophecy in hand. I mean, every installment in the Titan series had a cliffhanger, but it was great to go right into the final book after finishing this one. There was A LOT going on (not in a bad way) and I was utterly addicted. The story was fantastic and gripping and these characters I loved so much continued to grow and develop during this book. Seth’s transition from when we first met him until now has been huge. And I’ve always been a Josie fan. Add to that Alex and Aidan and I was a happy reader.
I’m pretty picky about the non-contemporary books I pick up, but I will always read anything Jen writes. The Titan series will forever be a favorite and I think it’s finally convinced me to go back and (finally) read The Covenant series in its entirety.
FAVORITE QUOTES
“Love is the root of all that is good, and the root of all things that are evil. Love is the root of the Apollyon.”
“Fate is afoot. Things cannot be undone. Fate has looked into the past and into the future. History is on repeat.”
I love him when no one else believes in him and I will still love him when everyone realizes who and what he truly is.
Seth said those three short words that meant everything. Well, “I have cake” was also three short, powerful words, but hearing Seth say he loved me was like a thousand hopes and dreams come true at once.
“I think they’re about to make a baby. And maybe eggs.”
Oh my gosh I don’t think I can wait a whole year for the next book in this series!
The Struggle is the third book in the Titan Series and just like the ones before and the series it was a spinoff of, it does not disappoint when it comes to action and drama.
I loved being back in this world! It’s so fun and even though Aiden from The Covenant series will always be my favorite, I really love Seth and seeing things in his point of view. The Struggle picks up right where The Power left off. There is action and a “dooms day” feeling that had me reading the book in one sitting. But more than that, there are so many feels in this book. Seth matures so much, and makes decisions based on how they will affect others instead of just him. The relationship between Seth and Josie is tested, Josie struggles with the relationship with her father, and the relationship between Seth and Aiden…yes you read that right Seth and Aiden…is starting to build into something fabulous. Josie is just as badass as Alex; in a totally different way. She is still struggling with her powers in the beginning, but as the book progressed she really comes in to her own. She loves her man something fierce and is willing to take on a whole slew of doubters in his defense. Her loyalty and unshakable faith in Seth make her a total badass. With the whole gang together, the snarky witty banter that we’ve come to love in this series is there along with the perfect blend of adventure and romance. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
Well let me first just say this…JLA Jennifer L. Armentrout you are a GODDESS!!! I absolutely fell head over heels in love with you many years ago when I first picked up Obsidian. Here I thought that I would never love another the way I love Daemon. Boy was I wrong. Seth is absolutely the love of my life. This jerk became my everything in the Covenant series. I know that he is arrogant, pig-headed, cocky, conceited, and ruthless…SO THE HELL WHAT!!! These traits are what make him amazing, they make him Seth Diodoros “Gift to Zeus” lol Yes that still makes me laugh. Talk about a tragic irony.
Any who I loved THE STRUGGLE because I felt like finally Josie in a way stepped up and gave Sethie a piece of mind and let him know where she now stands. She endured her traumatic experience and fighting through it like a champ. This beauty has refused to be a victim. Although she loves Seth almost as much as the fries at the covenant **SMILES** she refuses to allow him to push her around or push her away. He truly does deserve her and they both deserve to be happy. That is what makes we love the Titan series so much because although there is a “struggle” happening excuse my pun but there is also a love like no other that has built between this two remarkable characters. Josie and Seth, or should I say Joe and Sethie truly inspire me. No matter the struggle or this impending doom it seems is hanging over there head because of this Prophecy that must be fulfilled they are not giving up on one another. They are proving that in the end they make their ow destiny and that their love can withstand all. That’s the stuff you hope to have in real life. I’m rooting for this two and I can’t wait to see what “The Prophecy” has in store for us all.
Ya, I continue to love about everything I read from this author… I was a bit
surprised that this series is going beyond 3 books (I don’t know why I had it in my
head that there would only be three), but I love Seth and Josie, so bring it on!
