Her boss is all about control. She’s all about passion. Well, not that kind of passion.Owen Manning is renowned for his cold brilliance and tech savvy. If there’s such a thing as a quintessential billionaire geek, he’s it. Ivy Nash is his newest recruit—brilliant and beautiful, she takes his breath away and tempts him beyond reason. Losing control isn’t something he does. Ever.Except when it … does. Ever.
Except when it comes to Ivy.
Ivy is passionate about her career and not much else. Engineering is her life and her first love. The last thing she expects is to take one look at Owen and almost melt at his feet.
Forbidden desire burns fast and hot between them. One kiss nearly sends them up in flames. They each have their own reasons for wanting to keep their distance, so they make a deal. They’ll give into the madness and let it run its course. Because of course it will. Neither one of them is prepared for the fire between them to singe their hearts.

Nice little book, good story, lots of hot sexy parts.
I have loved all this author’s book that I have read. Her descriptive abilities make me want to go to wherever the setting is and the characters are very relatable. Her writing style is easy and fluid without much repetition of dialogue. Especially all the ones set in Katchenack bay. Keep them coming please!!!
Enjoyed all of this series.
Too much “heavy breathing” right off the bat, and it got to overshadow the storyline.
I LOVE it when the heroine has her own BIG career and BIG dreams. Three cheers for girls can do anything. Great read.
Adding this to my TBR pile because J.H. Croix’s books are consistently great.
Another great story in the Last Frontier series!
This is Ivy and Owen’s story. Ivy recently moved to Diamond Creek to be closer to her brother, Cam, who is the ski instructor at the Lodge. Owen has an engineering firm in Diamond Creek and hires Ivy to work for him. Owen is very closed off to relationships so it takes him awhile to realize his feelings for Ivy. In the meantime, Ivy’s past comes back to cause problems.
A bunch of the other characters are in this novel too.
You will not be sorry reading this book or any of the author’s other books.
A standalone read with a HEA. Set in Diamond Creek Alaska, this is in the Last Frontier Lodge series. I LOVE this series. All very good stories and all very different except for the HEA. This story is about the creator of a hi-tech engineering firm. He is determined to bring energy at a low cost to the average person. He is smart, creative, wealthy, gorgeous and sexy as heck. He is also very mysterious and keeps to himself. Of course he has his reasons but he keeps those to himself as well.
His latest hire is Ivy. She is a genius at engineering and also very attractive. Ivy has spent her whole life studying and getting one degree after another and then a chance to work in a big university in her field. One fly in the ointment is the Chair of the department, a creepy old coot that goes after young women with threats to their grades or careers if they don’t give in to him. She files a complaint against him and then leaves hoping to get the job with Off the Grid in Alaska where her brother lives.
She gets the job and a lot more. This is the story of their journey to a HEA. It is a really good romance. I loved the hero and the heroine was a little inexperienced but she was a good character. Personally I would have like to have seen the old coot get more punishment but that is just me. It is a great story and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/31/18
great series
