2 stars – It was ok
Former Breed Hunter, Trygg is the ultimate loner but when his solo mission leads to the beautiful Atlantean Tamisia, he can’t get her out of his thoughts.
While I really enjoy this series, the novellas are a mixed result for me and this one is definitely not my favorite. This couple didn’t really work for me with how short their story was. If it had been longer, I might have come to like Trygg but he was just a controlling butthole in this story.
Like I said, Trygg was very possessive in this story but he was also very distant. Yes there was attraction between these two but I didn’t feel any love from Trygg’s side, just possession which Sia definitely didn’t need more of. He is so possessive he ruins a mission instead of letting Sia take care of herself, which isn’t cool in my book considering she is a powerful Atlantean.
Sia on the other hand was a very interesting heroine. She could kick ass if necessary, was extremely compassionate, and also wasn’t afraid to stand up against evil, or just annoying and possessive men. I really liked her and wished she had been partnered with a better male.
Overall, this definitely isn’t my favorite story from this series but I am glad we are still getting stories with some of the minor characters.
Trigger Warnings: Trygg was forced into prostitution after his escape from the Hunter program.
Loved ever bit
Tamisia has been banished from the Atlantean colony and has found herself in Rome working at a women’s shelter. When a brutal murder in the shelter leaves her shaken she vows to get to the bottom of it.
Trygg is a vampire and is trying to find the lair of Santos, an evil man. When he hears gunfire he heads to the shelter and finds two of Santos’s men.
Will Trygg let Sia work with him to get to the bottom of what happened before anyone else gets hurt?
This was a good quick read and the first I have read in this series. It definitely left me with interest in reading more by this author.
I liked Sia but I would have loved more information on why she was forced to leave her Atlantean colony. She seemed like such a great person and I loved her bond with Rosa and Angeline. I loved how powerful she is and I wasn’t expecting her confrontation with the two men.
Trygg was mysterious and I liked how he was an assassin but there was something about Sia that could bring him to his knees. He turned his life around and was grateful to the Order for what they did for him.
I looked how Sia was able to figure things out and help Trygg. Towards the end things definitely got tense and I was happy Sia was there.
The very end of the book was pure karma and it was great!
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
I’ve not read this series by Lara Adrian so this particular bundle was great pick for me. In this novella we meet Trygg and Tamisia. He’s a vampire she’s an immortal.
Tamisia, or Sia for short, is pretty icy towards men. She doesn’t need them for her existence but no male has melted her insides just by a look like Trygg. He notices her but can’t afford the complication of a woman.
Now here’s where it gets dicey! They’ll eventually be working together to catch the bad guy. During that time well..one thing leads to another you know. It struck me in this time frame the author could have done so many things with these two beings. I enjoyed how she had their story play out. It’s not an easy love at first sight story. They work for it.
I like how Sia gives Trygg as much as he dishes out. She doesn’t let him get away with a thing! I think their relationship will be sure footed even if it is a fictional one!
Great, quick paranormal romance that will leave you dying for more. I only wish it could have been longer as it left me feeling that the romance was rushed. All in all, great little story!
I hope this series never ends.
Lara Adrian never disappoints. I love the series. I have read every installment and I can’t put the books down. Thank goodness some of them are short. Can’t wait for the next one.
