They don’t write fairy tales about the awkward girl from Missouri.Yet the tabloids sure like to write about me, especially since I’m engaged to a billionaire prince of an island nation in the Mediterranean. And when my fiancé, Prince Phillip, cheats on me, it’s the scandal of the century.Fortunately, Phillip’s badboy brother Eric offers me the chance to hide from all the cameras. But the more … to hide from all the cameras. But the more time I spend with him, the more I realize that Eric isn’t the man I thought he was. He’s kind, caring, and looks at me like I’m the only woman in the world.
Perhaps I can find my happy ending after all—this time with Eric, the one who says he fell for me first.
My name is Cara Van Meter. And this is my fairy tale.more
I really enjoyed all the characters! The heroine was so unique and relatable. Hearing from Eric’s viewpoint really helped get my emotions more involved. It was great how easy it was between them. The valet was hilarious and I loved how he handled life. I really want to read more of these characters. I hope this will be a series. The narrators were perfect for this story. I received this audiobook by my request in exchange for an honest review from Audiobook Boom.
This was my first Erin Hayes’s book and won’t be my last! This is the first book in A Billionaire Prince Romance Series, a Royal Romance/Forbidden Story. Wow! I love this Royal Romance! Cara and Eric’s story is beautifully written, fun, and sweet. Eric is handsome, honest, protective, and caring. Cara is a lovely woman, sweet, and beautiful. Phillip is an intriguing character. Herbert, Eric’s valet, is a fun and great secondary character! This was my first listen to Jessica Threet and Christopher Boucher’s voices. They did an outstanding job with this duet narration. I love their voice together. They both have a great voice, really pleasant to listen to. This is a great team author/narrators! I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and I highly recommend it! Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, The Royal Pain, Phillip’s story! I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is an entertaining read. It’s lighthearted and cute. I enjoyed the storyline and liked the feelings I got from the book. I adored Cara and Eric. Cara’s kind of nerdy, very sweet, big hearted and forgiving. The kind of person I could see myself being friends with.
Eric is a great guy underneath his playboy exterior. He treats Cara like an equal and the love he has for her is easily visible in his actions.
I also really liked Herbert. He’s such a sweet older gentleman who is almost like a father to Eric.
I enjoyed taking this journey with them and look forward to the next book.
Love love love
I am very picky about contemporary romance, I prefer fantasy, so it’s really hard to get a contemp I can rave over. This was great though. I read it all in one sitting. It was sweet, funny, and I loved the characters. I loved how classy they were about it at the end. How they could realize grudges weren’t worth it. I loved how Eric knew Cara was right for him just because the first time they met she almost burned his junk with hot soup. the best love at first sight moment ever. I love that Cara came to realize that Phillip changed her, and not in a good way, holding her back and making her not recognize herself anymore and that Eric helped her find the missing pieces. Also, Herbert was awesome! Great story.
cute and quick read
Good, lightly steamy short read (at just over 100 pages)
The characters are easily liked and the storyline is upbeat and kept me intrigued.
I would suggest if you enjoy contemporary romances 🙂
OMG quit with the royal blue blood crap already. Or market it in a country that believes in that antiquated crap. The story is stupid, the characters forgettable. It’s been two weeks since I read it, and I’d be hard-pressed to give any details beyond the brother angle.
Completely unrealistic.
Characters, plot, nothing that I could identify with.
Loved the description of New-Zealand.
This was an easy, fun book to read. An excellent book for a vacation read.
I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to more.
To many side issue s
I liked the book. Nothing surprising about it but nice romantic easy read. Good characters. No desire to read the next one in the series about the brother who cheated on the main character in this book cara. Why read about a cheater? Hopefully he does not get happily ever after in the next book.
A bit different approach to a romance novel.
I loved these characters. I loved that despite the idealized romantic storyline, the characters acted in realistic, intelligent, rational ways to the emotionally fraught circumstances they were caught up in. I despise manufactured angst, stubborn refusals to communicate, and ridiculous overreactions to misunderstandings. None of those things happened here, and the story was so much better because of that. A few word misusages did manage to sneak past the editor, but I can live with that when a book is this good
You know authors like this are the reasons I love to read. Only here can you find a really good read that just takes you away at the passion and interplay between two characters. After being publicly cheated on and ridiculed Eric takes Cara away with the plan to prove to her he is the prince for her. What follows is sweet and sensitive and funny. All a great move in Eric’s favor right? Well maybe not. A quick fun read, with enjoyable characters which will have you swooning and seeking you fan from the passion between these two.
