Nothing is more dangerous than forbidden love.She-wolf Summer Smith is desperate to make up for a past she can’t deny — and the best way to accomplish that is to take on a deadly mission for her new pack. She’ll sacrifice anything to clear her name and protect the people she loves. With the future of shifters across the Southwest resting in her hands, it’s the worst possible time to fall in love … possible time to fall in love — with a bear, no less.
Burly bear shifter Drew Kovacs hasn’t traveled to the Southwest to look for trouble, and he sure isn’t looking for love. But the second he lays eyes on the she-wolf with a mesmerizing smile and haunted eyes, he knows she’s the one. There’s just one problem — Summer is about to plunge head-first into an undercover mission into a den of enemy wolves, and he sure as hell won’t let her go alone. But he can’t show up and blow her undercover mission, either. Unless…

Book 5 Deception by Anna Lowe.
Summer is a wolf from previous books that tried to safe the shifter kid that were stolen and going to be killed.
Summer was saved by the Blue Moon Pack and started working for Blue Moon Cafe and trying to pay them back for saving her.
Drew is a cousin of the Blue Moon Saloon brothers and as soon as he see Summer he knows she’s his mate.
Absolutely love this sort of conclusion to the bass and the bad pack.
Can not beat Anna Lowe on shifter book and Kelsey Osborne just makes it so much better.
Perfection! I love everything about the Blue Moon Saloon and this book is the icing on the cake. Anna Lowe is quickly becoming my favorite shifter author. If you like shifter books then this is the one for you!
Summer believes she has something to prove, especially because of the role she played with the Blue-Bloods. So she volunteers to spy on the pack that spawned them and report back. This is a tale of finding her self worth and of Fate bringing her someone who loves her for who she is, not the role she played.
I received this as an ARC and chose to review it.
This is a continuous storyline which started the Blue Moon Saloon series in book one. It can be read as a standalone, but I feel is it better read in order. This is Drew and Summer’s story.
Summer is a wolf shifter who had inadvertently helped a rival clan with nefarious causes. She wants to help right her wrongs and redeem herself with her new clan. It turns out what’s needed is a secret agent to go on a behind the scenes secret mission to gather facts.
Drew knows Summer is the one for him and he doesn’t care about her past. He just wants her to stay with him. He has a hard time with it, but he knows Summer is the right person for the job, so he has to let her go.
Definitely one of my faves in the series! I can’t wait for more!
Whilst Blue Moon Saloon series started as a spin off from Wolves of Twin Moon ranch it has earned its own accolades as a series. The characters we are meeting and the stories we are getting have enhanced Ms Lowes author status.
In this 5th book it is poor Summers turn to find happiness. Summer belonged to a delusional cultish pack who, whilst preaching PURITY for shifters (as in no mixed shifter pairs) didn’t believe Fate had it right in choosing mates. They were the lowest of the low as they killed for the enjoyment, even children were not safe. Seems Fate choosing your mate was not good enough for them.
Drew we did not really know prior to this book but he turned out to be not only the biggest sweetie but also one of the biggest, fiercest bears we have met. Loved the scene at the end when Drew turned up to save Summer and the cavalry arrived.
So glad to have the last of the Blue Bloods killed, really was no loss to the gene pool and maybe now we can have more happiness for our mixed clan.
Deception is book five in the Blue Moon Saloon series by Anna Lowe. The story is full of suspense and romance.
It can be read as a standalone, but this one ties up the purity group neatly, so yes you can read it alone, but I would recommend reading the series in full.
Ms. Lowe has become one of my favorite authors. She has a way of drawing you into the lives of her characters and the emotional struggles they each go through. I love how the characters in the Blue Moon Saloon series each have struggled and survived some terrible and bad circumstances. It drives home that the world is not perfect that we each have difficult times and that their is hope know matter how small.
Drew is a bear shifter who has come to the Blue Moon Saloon to help out his cousins. He’s quiet and lade back, but when it counts his big bear can really through down.
Summer is a wolf shifter who invariantly helped the Blue Bloods, a group focused on purity in the shifter races, do bad things. She has major guilt and is looking for redemption and peace.
I enjoyed both Drew and Summer. They where a cute couple to watch Fate put together. Summer has a lot of guilt about what she did and can’t see herself mating anyone even her true mate; because she feels he and the others can’t look past her past. When a secret mission comes along Summer will help the Blue Moon Saloon pack and in doing so she will have to go home and face her past. She needs this and Drew has to let her go.
Deception is an exquisite story of redemption, trust, and selfless love. The characters are complex and sympathetic. Just like all the previous installments in the Blue Moon Saloon I ran the gauntlet of emotions and was rooting for Drew and Summer to both find what they needed.
