Logan MacKay’s sexy Scottish accent can drop panties on both sides of the pond. But he’s a shy tech-savvy introvert. Complicated. Logan’s confident and flirtatious hiding behind his phone, but gloomy and withdrawn in the flesh. And that compelling stranger he laughs with on the phone? Mary? It’s me. But to Logan, I’m Faith. The vivacious cheerleader who sheds unwelcome light on his dark and … unwelcome light on his dark and debilitating anxiety when exposed to beautiful women.
And I don’t want a relationship with him.
No. Damn. Way.
I just want to help him get past his ridiculous and unfounded beliefs about the opposite sex.
You see, Logan MacKay has scars. Physical and emotional marks that he thinks make him undesirable. But he’s not. Not by a long shot.
Damaged people like Logan inspired me to enter the mental health field. He’s one reason I’m studying to become a psychologist.
With my eternal optimism I can fix Logan. I know I can.
If only he would stop scowling at me and say yes to my brilliant idea of taking me in as his roommate.

I received this ARC for my honest review and am so happy to do so. This is the fourth book in the Clashing Colors series and I have to say, I REALLY loved these characters. Meet Logan, originally from Scotland. who sold his techie business but the sale came with the stipulation he must manage the company in the Seattle, Wa for 2yrs in order for it to be a smooth transition. Faith is a psychology student working as a Seahawks cheerleader and a phone receptionist with an escort service. The personalities of this couple are so genuine there is no way to read this book without falling in love with both of them. I have oohed, awwwed, laughed, cried, and yes, even had my heart racing. Congratulations on another outstanding book Elin I’m hoping to start the next one soon
Elin Peer has written another unique and wonderful romance. I was totally spellbound by this book and read it in one sitting. It caught me from the first few lines and I was still wanting more when I got to the end of the book.
We briefly met the heroine. Faith, in Green but there is no need to have read previous books in the series to enjoy this. Faith is a very real, down to earth type character who seems to have it all together. As the story progresses we learn that this isn’t quite so true. Logan is a difficult character but he is MEANT to be like this, and I still liked him.
The course of true love not only doesn’t run smoothly but doesn’t seem to run at all in some parts of this book, however for me it is what made this book so good. Time was spent getting to know the characters and finding out about their lives and backgrounds and why they struggled with relationships. This made me more invested in them and also made the story so much more real and believable. I also liked that the story took place over a significant period of time and of ‘getting to know each other’. No instant love here, thank goodness.
The book is written from dual POV’s so you get to know and empathize with both main characters. The story line is has been well thought through and it flows along smoothly and at a good pace. Great care has been made to make the Scottish accent realistic (as a ‘sassenach’ badly portrayed UK regional accents are irritating) so well done to the author.
I gladly give this book 5 stars as this wasn’t a generic contemporary romance and didn’t feel written to a formula. It was fresh, enjoyable and captivating.
This is a stand alone book (although it doesn’t hurt to read the series in order) with a happily ever after. Elin Peer is definitely a writer that I love. I consider myself very fortunate that I stumbled upon her books. So far she has not written a book that I haven’t liked. This one is no different. When you read her books you never feel cheated or that something has been left out. She gives you a complete story. She has fully developed characters that you can relate to or sympathize with in every way. They are believable as real people. I find that whenever I finish a book written by her that I feel bereft because I miss the people. That, to me, is a sign of a great writer. I highly recommend reading all of her books. You won’t be sorry.
Faith is used to being in her famous twins shadow but she also nurses her own wounds. Instead of working on her own issues she focuses on her sister and “fixing” others. When she talks to then meets the Scottish stranger *fan needed* she lays out a plan. Little does she know but one thing is sure life never goes according to plan unless you are planning to be surprised. Great story, the characters remain true. It is sexy and funny and enticing reading. Most definitely one to be enjoyed from this author who continues to bring us enjoyable standalone yet entangled reads with this series.
