Just one short season ago, major league center fielder John Roper had it all: the looks—and personal life—of a sports hero and the public’s adoration. But this hot property’s lucky streak has run out. After a World Series disaster, fans diss him, shock jocks mock him and his dysfunctional family hassles him for money he really can’t spare. Now it’s up to him, and Hot Zone publicist Amy Stone, to … publicist Amy Stone, to get his life back on track.
Amy finds it’s easier said than done. What with the constant intrusions of his nutty family, a crazed fan playing stalker, and Roper’s refusal to put his own needs first, she’s starting to think that life in the fast lane isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. But when the two retreat to a secluded lodge, the sexy center fielder throws Amy a curveball—one she never saw coming…

now THAT’S romantic comedy! …. That was my review in 2013 when I first read this book.
Today, I shall expand LOL …
So Amy gets a story … yippieeeee 🙂 We first met Amy in Hot Item. Her Uncle is Spencer Atkins. Her family is …. colorful 🙂 lol I loved the heck out of this girl!
First impressions are important. I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again for those in the back LOL the first time you meet someone will stick with them, so always be aware. Amy and John’s first impression didn’t exactly go splendidly. It may have left a not so encouraging feel about John with Amy. But then they start to work together and things begin to change. Amy can see the layers under John that he hides from the public. AND, John can see the real Amy as well. This story was a happy read for me. Well, it was my second time around also but because it’s been 4 years between readings, it felt like I was reading it for the first time. I loved John and Amy together. They made my heart sing and my face smile ALL THE TIME.
When I said this was a romantic comedy, I really meant it. It had all the elements you could ask for …. great characters that meshed well, chemistry and spark, banter and wit and a heartfelt story-line!
This was a great addition to the family Hot Zone series. I was disappointed that this was the end. It’s nice to see a couple build up their friendship before things move further along. The sides stories of John’s demanding family, his stalker, Amy’s crazy family and the added media attention gave it more substance.
I am a huge fan of Carly Phillips and enjoy her books. This last book in the Hot Zone Series was good but didn’t hold my interest like the rest. Between both Amy’s and John’s family vying for attention I felt Amy and John’s story kinda got lost along the way. This was still a great book and I did enjoy the chemistry Amy and John had!
Hot Property is the 4th and Final Book in the Hot Zone Series. It is full of so much craziness thanks to Yank and him being up to his old tricks, as a matchmaker of course. 😀
Amy Stone is Spencer Atkins niece, and she moves to NY to work for the Hot Zone PR department. Her first client is John Roper. The same man she met at her cousin Riley’s wedding who she happened to have an instant connection with.
John Roper the NY Renegades center fielder is all for being in the headlines over and over again. That is until he hits a slump and costs the team the World Series. John is injured, he’s the go-to person that his family relies on to help solve their problems, and doesn’t take the time for himself that he needs to work on rehabbing his injury.
I love that Carly ended the Series with John and Amy’s story. John has been an integral part of each book in the Series, and I had some great laughs as I got to know more about John and Amy’s family. These two balance each other perfectly.
