From #1 Amazon bestselling writer of Pretend You’re Mine, Lucy Score delivers once again with the conclusion to the Sinner & Saint story. In this suspenseful sequel to Crossing the Line, movie star Waverly Sinner has a gunshot wound and a missing fake boyfriend and the only man who can help her now is the one who broke her heart five years ago, Xavier Saint. When charming leading man Dante … man Dante Wrede offered Waverly a new way to use her acting talents, she jumped at the chance. Undercover work is exciting and challenging. But when their assignment is cut short by a hail of gunfire, Waverly is left bleeding and alone with a cover story that could ruin her career.
It’s been five years since Waverly almost died because of a mistake he made. But when Xavier Saint catches the latest mess the actress has gotten herself into, he faces facts. He’s never stopped loving her and she still obviously needs his protection. But when he tracks her down in secluded paradise, it’s clear she’s not working on her issues in rehab as the media reported. And she’s definitely not happy to see him or willing to trust him with anything more than half-truths.
They have an attraction that won’t die, but without trust there’s no hope for a future together. The only shot Xavier has at winning her back is helping her find Dante Wrede, the man he thinks she loves. When a plot to frame her for kidnapping and murder materializes, their rag tag team of conspirators need to work fast and play dirty to clear her name. He’s got just one shot at proving her innocence and winning her back forever.
Author’s Note: This is the conclusion of Waverly and Xavier’s story that began with Crossing the Line. It takes place five years after the end of Crossing the Line.

Lucy Score has upped her game
How do you recover after your deepest darkest fear comes true?
How do you move forward when all the trust has been blown to bits?
For Waverly Sinner, trusting Xavier Saint again is the biggest gamble of her life. A life she thought she had rebuilt without him. But as soon as Xavier tracks her down after a lengthy absence, she knows she was just marking time. The yellow caution tape that Waverly wears as a shield against Xavier only serves to spur him on. He is single minded in his pursuit to regain Waverly’s trust. And he makes amends in a big way! I loved their banter, feistiness, and passion. And finally, I loved their trust; it was hard won and sweet. The suspenseful aspects of the story lent urgency to their reconciliation.
Also present is a very colorful cast of secondary characters, adding a richness and depth to the character interactions. You’ve never seen a Russian body guard like Anatoli.
This book had everything I loved-steamy sex, suspense, witty dialogue and a great cast of characters.
Loved this book! Great love story and adventure as we watch Waverly’s and Xavier’s relationship to continue and develop into so much more.
Breaking the Rules by Lucy Score is the sizzling hot sequel to her Sinner and Saint novel , Crossing the Lines. This novel adds even more edge of your seat suspense than her first novel. And the settings for this book are to die for. Lucy Score does a masterful job of showing depth and growth of her main character’s, Sinner and Saint , in Breaking the Rules. I enjoyed seeing Waverly Sinner losing her victim role and becoming a women who takes charge of her own destiny. I especially loved how used the theory of love languages to help both characters to understand their growing love for each other!
This time the sex was just as steamy as before but balanced with all the mystery in adventure. The transformation of Sinner and Saint romance is well written. I am not ready to say goodbye to Invictus, Waverley , Xavier and all the other characters I have met. I hope that Lucy Score will do a spin-off in the future.
I loved this series! Lucy Score has earned her place on my favorite author shelf!
When I finished the 1st book, I immediately read the 2nd book. I am totally amazed and blown away. I did not expect this story from Lucy Score. Kudos and hooray! I thoroughly enjoyed the journey she took us on. In this book, 5 years have lapsed when the main characters are brought back together again. As always the sex scenes are scorching hot! But I also loved the way the Waverly “Angel” grew up and took over her life. Knowing that an HEA awaited I wasn’t as stressed reading this book and was not disappointed. Highly recommend adding this to your reading list!
Breaking the Rules (Sinner & Saint #2) by Lucy Score is a contemporary, second chance, Hollywood romantic suspense told in third person, dual POV. It takes place five years after book one and concludes the duet.
Waverly is now working as an actress and secret agent for Target Productions a dual purpose “studio” that makes movies on the public side and runs clandestine contract operations for government programs in need of the special access that comes with celebrity. After graduating from Stanford, she was recruited and mentored by Dante Wrede, her fellow actor, secret agent and field partner. When an operation goes sideways, Waverly is injured, Dante is missing, and she’s uncertain if he even made it out alive.
Xavier gets a bad feeling when the media runs a story about Waverly going to rehab after a DUI accident. He knows something’s rotten about the story because she’s never been a drinker. Concerned for her safety, Xavier tracks her down and forces his way back into her life as her protector by threatening to reveal her secrets. As a trained operative, Waverly doesn’t want or need him to take care of her, but she can’t risk exposing her cover.
Despite five years without any contact, Xavier and Waverly haven’t been able to get over each other and their attraction is stronger than ever. Xavier is determined to win her back, but Waverly wants nothing to do with him. She’s still angry about the way he left her when she was vulnerable and needed him the most.
Will Waverly ever be able to forgive Xavier? Will he be able to earn back her trust and win her heart? And what happened to Dante? Is he dead or alive? How did their mission go so wrong? Is there a mole compromising their safety? Read the book to find out.
I loved the conclusion to Xavier and Waverly’s story! Full of intrigue, action, suspense and steamy chemistry, it’s about learning to let go of past hurts in order to move forward with an open heart. A gripping story about second chances where true love wins in the end.
