New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak returns to Silver SpringsSometimes starting over means finding everything you’ve been missing… a tall, dark stranger she meets at a trendy Miami bar. Embarrassed by her recklessness, she ducks out the following morning without learning the guy’s full name, something that shouldn’t have been a problem…until a pregnancy test turns positive.
Being a professional football player, Hudson King has always been cautious around women. But this one had been different—so disinterested in his celebrity, so convincingly into him. When Ellie tracks him down, claiming she’s carrying his baby, he’s stunned. And more than a little betrayed.
But after growing up as an orphan, he’ll do anything to stay involved in his child’s life, so he urges Ellie to move to Silver Springs, where they can co-parent. Hudson has a lot of love to give, certainly enough for his child, and when their initial spark reignites, perhaps for Ellie, too…

I liked the element of mystery about the hero’s birth and how that became such an important part of his character. The ending was abrupt, however, and the resolution of the mystery disappointing. A good romance in many ways, just a not quite satisfying read.
Loved the book.
Bought it, have not read yet.
Good story line and characters!!
This was a great book about two damaged people that turn insta-lust into a lasting, whole heart love. Loved the interaction between the H/h – no over the top ugliness or belittlement between the two but solid conversation to get to know each other. Also liked the romance without the over-descriptive sex scenes; it really made the love making more romantic and deeply caring for me.
I LOVED this book. I usually don’t go for surprise baby books, but this was great. Ellie and Hudson are terrific characters. She’s a nerdy scientist and he’s a jock who doesn’t do relationships (and he has deep, tragic secrets). It was a pleasure watching their relationship develop and much felt very realistic. I would definitely recommend and I plan to read more books by this author.
Good
I thought it was a great book. I thought it was engaging, enlightening, and enticing novel. I felt so bad for Houston and Ellie. I was glad everything worked out okay.
This is the third book in the Silver Springs series. And it’s just as great as the first two. Once I started it, I had a hard time putting it down. The people of Silver Springs and the New Horizons school help you get away to a good place. It’s a wonderful story of two diversely different people meeting, overcoming some unexpected circumstances, and ending up in love. It shows you can start over and believe in yourself. Looking forward to reading more in this series.
Superbly written story that keeps the reader
totally engrossed with many unexpected
happenings.
The story is power packed with emotional
issues, family issues, social issues, fear to
love, a tangled web of secrets, deception,
mystery, drama, suspense, sinister plot
and forgiveness, personal growth,
friendship and love.
This book was a representation of real life
and not the live happily ever after books
without problems or compromises.
The author gets the reader involved from
the beginning. You experience what the
characters are feeling.
The main characters, Ellie Fisher, PhD and
Hudson King, star quarterback for the Los
Angeles Devils are creatively and well defined
characters with undeniable chemistry.
You will visit Miami, Florida plus Los Angeles
and Silver Springs area of California.
Hudson was one of Aiyana Turner’s boys from
the New Horizons Boys Ranch when he was
younger.
This book makes the reader aware of issues
that might have never crossed their minds.
This is book # 3 in the Silver Springs series.
It can be read as a stand alone.
A highly recommended read!!!!
It wasn’t just bubblegum romance there was more going on.
I am loving this whole series.
This series has been amazing, so far, and reminds me of why I started reading Brenda Novak’s books in the first place. Until You Loved Me is also centered in Silver Springs but it is a standalone…I just can’t say enough about the series to make sure you read the other books as well. Really great reads!
UYLM is about Ellie Fisher, a scientist, and Hudson King, a professional football player. To say they come from two different worlds would be an understatement. The story is woven around the fact that Ellie has no idea who Hudson is, or anything about professional football, and Hudson is stunned to finally be with someone who doesn’t want something specific from him because of his celebrity. These two are made for one another but have a hard journey to their HEA. I love the vulnerability of both the characters, each in their own way. As I read and came to understand Hudson’s past (and how it affected his present), and Ellie’s self-doubt, well, let’s just say it will make you sniffle and then cheer them on.
Great story, heartwarming, twists and turns (hey, you gotta have that to make it interesting!), and much to enjoy. I highly recommend.
