We are told that God will punish the wicked. That sinful men will reap what they sow. We are told to scourge our souls with prayer and pain to become clean once again.Well, here I am. Wicked and sinful. Desperate to become clean…even though it feels so good to be dirty. But even I never expected what came next. Even I never expected my punishment to come so soon.Midnight Mass is a novella and a … soon.
Midnight Mass is a novella and a sequel to Priest. It’s intended for mature audiences.

I never thought that Poppy and Tyler had such a toxic relationship until this book. How they could solve everything in the bed. Nah, didn’t work for me. But I respected the way the author took their story. I too have felt their pain and loss so it was comforting to see that in this book, to normalize it a bit.
This was the perfect follow-up and conclusion to Priest. Reading about Tyler and Poppy about their life outside the church. And I’m pretty sure they got even dirtier. The two have taken on a Dom and Sub relationship inside the bedroom, which works for them. They are fulfilling their fantasies, safely. Outside the bedroom, they go through the troubles any other couple would.
Jacob Morgan was absolutely fabulous again as Tyler Bell. He brings all the passion and emotion to this story. We only get a little bit of Elena Wolfe at the end but I love have her narrated the epilogue from Poppy’s POV.

Father Bell might not be Father Bell anymore but lawd he will still make you pray to God like it is your job!!
“Is it weird to pray during sex? Maybe it is, but sometimes it happens. I’ve tried to accept that it’s who I am—a man who loves God, and who loves fucking, that I can be dirty and holy all in the same moment.”
OK, before I got into the actual review let’s just talk about the narration briefly. If you read my review for Priest you know Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe won my heart and lady bits with their narration. Same goes for this story, Jacob Morgan as Father Bell really is everything you could ever want and so much more. The deep growls and the perfect times and the intensity in his feelings when he is being sincere is sheer magic.
Midnight Mass might not have been as intense and powerful as Priest but it will still leave you with all the same emotions you felt from book one. This book picks up a few years after where Priest ends and you get to see the flaws that come with marriage. No matter how good your marriage is there will always be disagreements, arguments and moments of intense feelings. This book showed that. Too often we see the beautiful happy epilogue of perfection, and this was a look into what happens after the “HEA” and that just because there are tough times doesn’t mean that you can’t come out of it better than before.
This book had the scorching heat we got from book one but with so many more raw feelings of what happens when life gets in the way. After overcoming so much Father Bell and Poppy still had to overcome more obstacles before, they could really start to live their life and it was perfect!!
This novella is another proof of how amazing Sierra is as a writer.
Tyler and Poppy story is so human and beautiful. I just love how Sierra gave us the happy ever after and show how that can also have some ups and downs. They are without a doubt one of my favorite couples and Sierra is such an underrated author, I just hope more people get to know her books and love them as much as I did.
So this was continuation of Father Bell and Poppy. I liked the way how their story continued on here but at the same time I can feel why Sierra decided to continue their story in a short story manner. I love how Sierra is bringing a lot of her readers’ dirty disires and fantasies live in her characters world. Definitely worth 5 ******** and more.
Again, Sierra Simone blows my effing mind.
Can she write a bad book? No.
Can she write a book that will have your mind reeling, your heart pounding and have you begging for more? HELL YES.
Midnight Mass was the a shorter Novella after the book Priest. You will have to read Priest to get any understanding on what this book is about.
In Midnight Mass, you see Father Bell as just himself now, he no longer is a priest. This book picks up where book 1 left off, and Poppy and Tyler are married, and start living together as one. What I loved most about this book was that the author put things in it that are relatable, that happen all too often to people and couples in life and as heart breaking and messy as it was, it was amazing to read. A lot of what happened in this book are things I can personally relate to, so i think for me thats what pulled me in most. Not everything is as it seems, not every marriage is perfect and we often go through hardships and heartache, and this author was real about all this. It was refreshing to read and through nearly half the book, i was in actual tears. This book is intense, it is real, it is all consuming and it will break your heart into a million pieces, only for the author to piece it back together when you least expect it. With all that went on, the plot still held SO MUCH HEAT, it still had me squirming in my seat and begging for more.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES!
And listen to it in audiobook, it is an experience like nothing else.
For me, I’m ruined… This book was a game changer!
5 Stars
Kind of a Novell/Epilogue for the priest and his Lamb.
Nice characters, busy lives, loss and passion.
Well done. Maybe 3.5
When a book can bring out so many emotions it is written perfectly. Midnight Mass is a continuation of Poppy & Tyler’s life after Priest. Working on marriage, careers, post graduate studies, and trust this couple has a lot thrown their way. The sexual chemistry is off the charts. The end is a tear jerker. They do get to live happily ever after but at the cost of some major heartbreak. Thank you Sierra Simone for bringing up a topic most couples don’t often talk about.
OMG what a fantastic follow up to Priest!! This book sees Father Bell as a Father no longer. Now just plain old Tyler (but of course he is anything but), he and Poppy are married but are struggling to be together, both working toward different things. He still has guilt and shame over his past and when problems arise he isn’t there for her. Still very much a love story, with a fantastic storyline, more great sex scenes (mega hawtness abounds) but with raw emotional touching scenes that had me crying towards the end. Fantastic book with the chance of more Tyler and Poppy after this (please?) this is a must read book.
A man is generally described by his vocation, what he does in life defines him.what happens when what you always believed to be your calling , is just a phase. Tyler Bell loses his self worth somewhat and questions his motive in life. He’s been programmed to feel guilt. His redemption is prayers, confession , maybe whipping. He wants to purge his sins.
This he’s fighting within .
Outside he’s fighting to save his marriage. His faith in his love for Poppy and his decision of leaving clergy worthy.
His turmoil is so beautifully portrayed by Sierra. I feel his conflict, my eyes shut tight at his pain, HIS chest cracks open and MY heart falls out.
I sympathise with poppy and want her to find peace and unconditional love from Tyler, but I also feel for Bell. I so want him to figure out how to get out of his spiral of guilt . He who leads his flock, guides and absolves them, is himself not able to see the light of the day.
It’s poetic in irony . Amazing job Sierra. !
Father Bell & his Lamb continue to give the best dirty sex scenes to make you wish you had your own priest to sin with.
Please keep them coming!!!!
What an amazing, hot sequel to an amazingly hot story! This novella is just as sexy, passionate and scandalous as the first book, but also incredibly emotional and heartbreaking. It is a few years after Tyler Bell and Poppy Danforth have gotten married, but their marriage isn’t perfect as they’re struggling to deal with their own issues while still trying to have a relationship together. I loved these characters, and I loved Tyler and Poppy’s story; I wish there was a third book so I could see what the distant future will bring.
Hello hottie Father Bell. I think I could read several books with Tyler and Poppy in it. I liked the realism of marriage in the story. Not everything is always sunshine and rainbows. They went through a few bumps in the road but their love for each other remained strong. I’m so glad they’re keeping it all dirty and hot 3 years later! Woo hoo smoking hot!
Again, Wow! I finished this story last night but needed time to process. Much as the first book did, this one had my emotions all over. I felt the characters love, uncertainty, pain & happiness.
The steam was definitely there again but I was also drawn in to their story & the feelings that brought. This is one will be on my mind for awhile. It’s had that much of an effect on me.
Definitely, another I would recommend
Tyler and Poppy’s story continued. There love story
What a marvelous continuation to Tyler and Poppy’s story. So many books leave us with an HEA sprinkled in fairy dust…and sometimes that’s great. But for a realist, like myself, it’s good to see characters you’ve grown to love struggle with life and their relationship after you see “The End”. That’s what Sierra Simone delivered in this story.
It was just as sexy, steamy and hot as the first book but so real in a way it depicted Tyler as he still struggled with his life’s purpose now that he’s no longer a man of the cloth. He’s married now, expanding his degree and trying to be the man and husband Poppy deserves- but he’s still a man with faults and his guilt ridden personality has him focused so much and the ‘nots’ of his life he’s losing sight of the ‘haves’ in his life which puts his life in a tailspin.
This was another magnificently written story!
Great finish to the Priest duet
