Love isn’t an emotion—it’s a chemical reaction. Like gasoline meeting a flame. Eventually, the fire burns out. Luckily I’m in the right business. Women don’t expect more than I can give. When I meet Melody, I’m on board for a little fun. I admit, she’s under my skin. But since we share the same philosophy there’s no chance this will turn into anything more. Is there?FALL WITH ME—Sixth Street … there?

4.5 out of 5 stars!! During an “inconspicuous” visit to a local burger joint, Christian, the bassist for the famous rock band Caged, meets Melody (Mel). Their meeting is very unceremonious (except the fact that Melody gets fired) but when they unexpectedly meet up again at a local college’s science library their shared interests spark a fire in one another that explodes into something more. Yet even though they both know the score, will they want to give one another up when the time comes to finally go their separate ways?
This is a heartwarming tale. It kept me intrigued from the very beginning with the grouchy Minnie Mouse and silly Batman, then even more so with the way Christian became undoubtingly hooked on Melody and her snarky ways. In addition, I loved the way Ms. Frost integrated the other important secondary characters from her Sixth Street Bands Series into “Fall With Me” giving us fun updates while letting us get more info about some characters we still are learning about.
What sealed my enjoyment about this novel the most was Melody and Christian, of course. From how they shared the same intellectual passions to how they never let their different living situations bother them to how they ended up truly caring for one another … I was enchanted! Christian and Melody are such a great pair that I wish I could get to read more about them somehow. Their novel is a “nerdy” rockstar romance and they make it just so sweet.
I recommend it to those who are fans of Ms. Frost and/or are looking for a unique spicy contemporary rockstar romance.
— On a side note —
Also, though it’s part of a series this novel can be read as a standalone too.

Oh, Christian… who knew you had all that genius hiding inside of your rocker persona? Your band mates know. But all those girls you’ve “been with” never really saw you, did they?
And then came Melody… A green-eyed beauty to engage your senses. And a match for your intellect. You never knew what hit you. And when you fell, you had to pray she’d fall with you.
Christian is full of himself at first, but he’s also full of sweetness, vulnerability and has a lot of love to give. Christan and Mel together are dynamic and wonderful lovers who are also friends. Mel has her own vulnerabilities and self-image issues. Both of them will have to set aside their scientific mindset when Love comes knocking at the door.
This story is the second in the Sixth Street Bands series by Jayne Frost. I enjoyed the first book very much, but I think I like this one even better! I also enjoyed ongoing relationships from the first book.
Bottom line: So glad I discovered this author! 5 stars.
In the midst of all the global craziness caused by the pandemic, having an addictively fun series like the Caged novels had been a huge sanity saver. These interconnected but totally standalone romances of each of the members of the band are both extremely powerful and totally fun. That’s certainly the case with Melody and Christian’s story in Fall With Me (Sixth Street Bands Book 2). I loved the character building that went into both grad student Melody with her brains and physical issues, and super brain yet super sexy Christian. They’re wonderfully unique characters with an equally wonderfully imaginative romance. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
This book had all the feels, the characters were relatable of and the storyline was meaningful. Life is not perfect and we are thrown curveballs but things happen for a reason. Although sometimes it’s not clear at the time and seems as if life has dealt us a raw deal.
Christian is the bassist of Caged and goes for a burger with Logan. That is where he first sets eyes on his pouty little angel Mel. Unfortunately he witnesses her being fired. A trip to the library rewards him with a second meeting. Mel is a science geek and there is so much more than meets the eye to Christian. She isn’t a one night fling kind of girl and Christian is all chill and says let’s go with the flow and see where it leads us. Mel’s not used to having friends or family and takes some adjusting to join Christian and the band.
Christian hides his brain behind being the bassist for the band Caged, he shows everyone his rock-star, bad boy persona but keeps his intellect to himself. That is until he meets Melody in the college library. Their relationship starts as two brainiacs discussing varied topics but ends as two people who were destined to fall in love. But can Melody get past the side of Christian he lets the world see? Can Christian get past the walls Melody has set up to save her heart? I loved these two characters!! There is nothing better than a sexy man with a brain and nothing better than a heroine that stands up for what she believes in. I need more of this series!!
Book two of the Sixth Street Band series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Each book about a different band member and their HEA. I really liked this book! It’s not all about the sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll, but about the band members being their own family. Christian is known as “Wikipedia” to his band mates, but joining a band instead of finishing college leaves him as a disappointment to his mathematician father. Christian only has one night stands with groupies and has the philosophy of no repeats. Melody is a graduate student researching the disease that has left her grandmother needing full time care. I loved the amount of time they spend together with Christian wanting to spend every night with Melody. Christian was sweet and patient during the little angst they needed to work through before their HEA. Great book, I highly recommend!
This is the second book in this amazing series, and is Melody and Christian’s story. Melody is a sweet, sassy and funny character, and Christian is the passionate bass guitarist for the band. I loved these characters, and the dynamics between them. This is a beautifully written flawless story, which had me totally hooked and enthralled throughout this engaging page turner, and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!
“She believed she could, so she did.”
Fall With Me is book two in the Sixth Street Bands series by Jayne Frost. The above quote pretty much sums up the heroine you will meet in this book. Is she perfect, no, no-one is. But she is strong and determined and proud and smart and is just the woman to catch Christian’s eye, and never let it go!
Melody is just about a month from graduating from college when she met Christian. She was holding down two jobs to make ends meet and was tired and grumpy when the famous rock star came into the burger place she was working at. Their first meeting didn’t really go all that well but it was enough to catch Christian’s attention. So when they happened to meet again by accident in the library, they both knew it was their second chance to connect, and connect they did!
It was supposed to be a one night stand. Their lives couldn’t be more different. Christian was a rock star on the rise. He is the bass player for Caged. Melody’s life was a quiet one filled with studies and labs. But one night wasn’t enough. Christian felt pulled back to her every night. She smelled like Autumn to him. He couldn’t get her out of his head.
“She was a rock star in her own right, she just had a different kind of stage on which to perform.”
Christian can’t deny that he has led the life so far of a rock star. There are women always waiting in the wings, parties, booze, anything he wants. But after he met Melody, it all paled. It was only her that filled his mind. Slowly she lowered her walls and let him in. But there is so much more to her than meets the eye. She’s convinced she could never fit into his world but Christian doesn’t want a world without her in it.
I love this series so much. I had already read books four and five when I decided to go back to the beginning and read the books I missed. I’m loving getting to know the other band mates. I admit I hardly knew Christian at all but I fell for him just as I have the rest of his friends. Melody and Christian were perfectly suited for each other. Yes, it took them awhile to figure that out, but I completely enjoyed watching them on their journey. This is a pretty short book but filled with so much. I can’t wait to continue on with the series with book three, Missing From Me, which will be Sean, the drummer’s story.
Very enjoyable easy reading book. I enjoyed the character building. Fun book to read.
This is the second book I’ve read from this author and loved it. It was a short read but kept me intrigued through the entire book. Christian was the highly intelligent, sexy rocker that was taken with Melody the beautiful, sassy spitfire that definitely gave him a run for his money. The chemistry and the relationship that formed between these two characters was amazing to read. I enjoyed every moment of this book that I devoured it in a day.
Christian Sears didn’t believe in love. He spent his days touring and playing with his band mates whom he considered family and who accepted his passion for music, instead of being the man his father wanted him to be. He was smart – book smart – and as sexy as hell.
Melody Sullivan’s world revolve around books and research and her nana. Deviating to another world would falter her hopes and dreams of finding a cure for something she have fully invested on. She was a control-freak, she had dreams, she had plans. Falling in love with a bass guitarist wasn’t part of that plan.
My heart is all over the place right now, but in a good way. This story is so heartfelt and keeps on sending shivers down my spine. Christian had me swooning from the moment he spouted Star Wars trivia and since then, I haven’t stopped thinking about him.
Fall With Me is book 2 of the Sixth Street Bands series, but it’s my 3rd book by Jayne Frost. I know I wasn’t able to read this series chronologically, but that’s okay since this can be read as a standalone. Initially, I was rooting for Chase Noble because he’s too hot to handle. But now that I met Christian, I just have to forget about Chase. Because I think Christian is the one.
You want to know he truth? I actually have a weakness for bad boys with brains and brawns. I find geek guys sexy. I dig guys in glasses acting all nerdy and hunky at the same time. I like listening to them spurting uncommon knowledge while flexing those muscles. Yup, I’m weird like that. And that’s why I love Christian. Yes, I believe I fell in love with Mr. Wikipedia himself. I was totally drooling and swooning and melting by the time I finished reading this book.
And of course, I also like Melody, the woman who knocked down his world and got him to say those three little words. Although I had hoped that her diabetic condition was further discussed, and Christian’s father issues were further amplified, i was more than happy when I met her Nana, Mo. The tears in my eyes couldn’t stop flowing down, i had to let it all out, until the last page, right down to the author’s special dedication to her own nana. OMG, I haven’t cried hard in a long time, until today. I think I’ve fallen in love with both the characters and the author herself. This was just so perfectly beautiful!
Love Jayne Frost and this series. The writing is impeccable!! The world and characters are brought to life and you can’t help but get drawn in. Jayne is able to be a storyteller without telling but by truly engaging with her words. Trust me, you want to read this series. It gets deeper and deeper as we read. Each book different and but good in its own right. These can stand alone but I for me were enhanced when read together.
In this second book in the Sixth Street Bands series we follow the story of Melody and Christian as they try to navigate the slippery slope of casual romance to falling in love. I loved this story and following the story and I loved how Christian became this big teddy bear where Melody and her Nana is concerned. This was a beautiful story that has strong characters and an even better story. So far in this series Christian and Melody are my favorite couple. Definitely a must read.
