Previously published with a different publisher The Cascadia Wolves will do anything to protect their own. Tegan Warden knows that better than anyone. The Pack closed ranks around her years ago when her mate died, and much as she appreciates their support, it’s time to move on. That means dating–and for Tegan, it also means finding someone who understands her needs in the bedroom. Finding … bedroom.
Finding Ben.
The dominant human may not be a wolf, but he makes Tegan shiver from their first encounter. He knows what she needs and doesn’t hesitate to give it to her. What’s more, they share a bond beyond sex. It’s been years since any man has made her feel so alive, so beautiful and desired.
But there’s an enemy working against the Cascadia Wolves, an enemy gathering forces to strike. The looming war is a threat to wolves and humans alike, and if they can’t stop it, the love that Tegan and Ben have worked so hard to find may not be enough to protect them from what’s coming.

This series is really coming together and taking off beautifully.
This is the newer version with a different title, cover and a few more pages. My review relates to the old EC version but story is the pretty much same.
This story gives us so much more information not to mention action, as the internal war with Pellini takes a new direction. That Pellini really needs killing off.
Added in to all this action is the personal side of things with our widowed wolf Tracy finding a new mate in Ben, the human liaison between the humans and the pack.
What happens as they head toward a HEA is great.
Ben’s mothers attitude and actions, what happens at the NC meet and to Ben himself.
I love the little signs from Lucas that it was time for Tracey to move on with her life, so sweet.
I have read and reviewed this book before but review is missing.
I liked this one better than the last despite the fact that the way that Dane writes D/s kink here doesn’t really work for me (or maybe it’s quarantine blahs, I dunno). D/s is very take-it-or-leave-it for me most of the time, so do with that as you will.
Yes, the first half is heavy on the relationship and a lot of (juvenile) angst, but once Ben & Tegan get their act together, the overall story arc is pretty good.
I know you’re probably thinking, why are you rereading these if they’re just 3 stars?
A. 3 stars isn’t bad. It’s just not “ermuhgod these are the best evah!”.
B. Our library just got the De La Vega Cats series in Audio, I started listening to Trinity and remembered that Jack from that book is heavily featured as a secondary character *throughout* this whole series. So yeah, I’m going to read them again for that.
I’ve been hooked on this series from the very beginning, I love that every book is sooo different depending on the couple. Sadly, I didn’t love this one as much as I did with the others. It was tough for me to believe the connection between Teagan and Ben. A big part of it was that Ben fought their bond longer than I thought he would .
As far as tropes go, romance with bdsm or the dom/sub aren’t quite my cup of tea. They’re generally not the tropes that I gravitates towards, so I found myself skipping over those scenes.
I loved seeing my favorites from the previous books in this one. And the greater story arc is just getting thicker and thicker, I’m so eager to see what’s going to come of all of this.
Not my favorite book so far, but still an enjoyable one.

I am loving Lauren Dane’s Cascadia Wolves series! This book focused on Tegan and Ben, a human cop and wow was it steamy! What I really liked was that Tegan was a dominate female whose job was protection. While this did led to her butting heads with Ben’s protectiveness, she held her own and he learned to accept that she can protect herself. It contrast with her dominance was her desire to submit in the bedroom. What I liked most about her and Ben’s relationship was that their bedroom relationship did not carry into the rest of their lives. It was a refreshing change from most D/s erotic books and I think the paranormal aspect helped with that.
The subplot which ties the book series together is still going strong with the Pellini Group as adversaries. I can’t wait for the next book, which I believe is about Pellini’s sister and Cade!!
