Born to a prestigious political family, Avery Adams plays as hard as he works. The gorgeous, charismatic attorney is used to getting what he wants, even the frequent one-night stands that earn him his well-deserved playboy reputation. When some of the most prominent men in politics suggest he run for senate, Avery decides the time has come to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. With a strategy … strategy in place and the campaign wheels rolling, Avery is ready to jump on the legislative fast track, full steam ahead. But no amount of planning prepares him for the handsome, uptight restaurateur who might derail his political future. Easy isn’t even in the top thousand words to describe Kane Dalton’s life after his father, a devout Southern Baptist minister, kicks him out of the family home for questioning his sexual orientation. Despite all the rotten tomatoes life throws his way, Kane makes something of himself. Between owning a thriving upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Minneapolis and managing his long-term boyfriend, his plate is full. He struggles to get past the teachings of his childhood to fully accept his sexuality and rid himself of the doubts brought on by his religious upbringing. The last thing he needs is the yummy, sophisticated, blond-haired distraction sitting at table thirty-four.

Is there any way to give more than 5 stars?
My review may seem simple, but in fact Kane and Avery’s story is simple. Simple and beautiful. Touched as any romance should be, full of events that strengthen their love, the loss of a family but gain a new one stronger and more united, and an outcome to spend many boxes of tissues.
Everything was perfect. Even the end. From now ALWAYS will be a word that will bring a new meaning in my life. Gratitude, faith, union, love, eternity.
Always in my heart.
I can’t even begin to describe how much this story of Avery and Kane moved me! Tears literally from the beginning to the end! Some happy and some sad.
This is truly a love story for the ages! Always is truly the deeper soul mate word and it explains so much about this couple!
I have read a lot of romance stories over the years and this is one that will resonate in my heart and soul for always! So moving and beautiful and heart wrenching!
Avery and Kane’s story is so heart wrenching. I loved it very much. I am very glad I gave it a try
If you want a love story that will pull at your heartstrings than Always by Kindle Alexander is a story you must read! It is truly one of the most beautiful love stories that you will ever experience.
Kane and Avery’s story spans over many years with their two hearts bonded together always in love and family.
Always is book one in the Always & Forever duet by Kindle Alexander. This is my very first book by this writing duo. I just did finish the last words of this book and my emotions are on overload right now. This book may be the most epic of love stories I have ever read. The love between these two characters is the deepest, most true of any love I have ever read about. Was their way easy? No. But the love they shared was so strong, they could weather any storm, as long as they did it together.
Avery Adams is thirty five years old. He’s the grandson of one of the most popular American Presidents that ever served in office. Avery has begun to climb the ladder himself and his popularity is growing. He has been approached to consider a run for the senate in his home state of Minnesota. The year is 1975. Avery hasn’t hidden his sexuality but in recent years tried to be more discreet with the men he hooks up with. But just as he’s getting ready to announce his candidacy, he goes to dinner in a popular upscale restaurant, and he saw him. His breath was stolen, there were no words, but his heart knew instantly that it was him, the one.
Kane Dalton is thirty three years old. Kane was raised by a father that was a fire and brimstone preacher. When Kane admitted to his family that he was gay, his father threw him out, at age eighteen, with nothing but the clothes on his back. Some how over many years, Kane pulled himself up, and now was the owner of La Bella Luna, a beautiful Italian restaurant. This is his dream come true. The restaurant is his life and he works seven days a week which unfortunately doesn’t leave much time for a personal life.
The night Avery Adams came in to La Bella Luna, Kane knew they had to do everything to make sure his visit was perfect. Little did he know that this was the night his life was going to be forever changed in ways he never could have imagined.
“I know you’re meant for me. I know you’re the other half of my soul. We are meant to be together.”
I loved that from the first moment, Avery was dedicated to winning Kane in any way possible. I loved the way that they faced every obstacle together. Their love was so strong. I believe their hearts were just waiting for each other. Can you believe my eyes are watering while trying to type this? Not only did they have to fight against the opinions of the public in general, they had to fight against what Kane’s own father had made him believe. But Avery knew Kane was it for him. And he knew that he would fight for him, for them. That the only outcome that was possible was that their future was together, as one.
So before I completely fall apart, I will just say that if you want to read the most beautiful love story you have ever read, about two men whose love for each other has no limit, then read this book. A second book in the series, Forever, is due out in just a couple of weeks which will focus on their son, Robert. I will be reading this. I have to read this. And I look forward to much more by this author in my future.
I sobbed through the last quarter of the book. A wonderful story, but heart-breaking.
I legit cried my eyes out! Love is love and that is everything
Most of us can’t help but get a little misty over the idea of soulmates. Whether we believe in it or not, it’s nice to think about. Always gives us a taste of that – kind of. The story opens forty years into the relationship between Kane and Avery and then moves back to the beginning. From there, we jump through various points in time, something akin to a highlight reel. The problem with that is we really only get the good stuff without much time to get to know these guys or become invested in them. Then we have the suspension of disbelief required for this one. Not that the events in this story couldn’t happen, not even that they shouldn’t happen, they just couldn’t have happened the way they did in those eras, especially with Avery being part of a political family. Acceptance has come a long way, and we still have further to go, but 1975 was a whole different story.
I’ve read some of Kindle Alexander’s more recent books and loved them. Always does have the prose and parts of it certainly tug at the heartstrings. It also had a few too many things I would have to overcome to get lost in the story. In the end, this one left me somewhere in the middle, it was okay, but I really wanted and expected more.
Where so I start?…Another amazing book, Kindle…have you ever had to stop reading a book because it cuts too close to your heart? This book did it to me a few times. Such real and lovable characters. Thank you Kindle for writing this book.
Greatest romance ever. M/M
I love this book so much I have read it four times.
I read a lot of books and this one is at the top of my list. I read it and can still feel it in my bones.
This book needs to be read by all no matter what genre you prefer.
Such a perfect love story, that touched my heart so much!
Every book I have read by this author is absolutely fantastic, this book is no exception.
This was an amazing love story with so much soul and emotion.
Cried like a baby for the last part of the book, I was crying so much I could hardly see the pages in the book, did not think my heart could hold to the end.
Always–
I will never think of “Always” the same again. It is one of the best stories I have read in a long time.
You will need tissues for your reading time. Kane and Avery will have a place in your re-read list Always.
Kindle has done it again, a great love story with depth. A must read if you love great story telling.
