Author Interview
Q: What makes the Wishful series special?
Wishful is a collection of southern romance novels honoring my Mississippi roots. When I started the series, I set out to highlight everything that I love about living in the small town South–all our quirks, foibles, and dreams provide a fabulous (and often funny) backdrop to contemporary romances about stubborn, independent women and the men who love them.
Q: Who would dig these books?
Wishful is a southern romance series written for anyone looking for love in a small town. If you loved Hart of Dixie and miss the residents of Bluebell, you just might fall in love with Wishful. It’s a town where everybody knows your name and hope springs eternal! My many of my readers also enjoy the books of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Kristan Higgins, Melanie Shawn, Ava Miles, and Jill Shalvis.
Q: What order should I read the books in?
This southern romance series has been written so that each story is a standalone that wraps up with a happily ever after by The End. That said, if you want to read them in chronological order I suggest this:
* To Get Me To You (Cam and Norah)
* Be Careful, It’s My Heart (Brody and Tyler)
* Know Me Well (Liam and Riley)
* Just For This Moment (Myles and Piper)
* Wish I Might (Reed and Cecily)
* Turn My World Around (Tucker and Corinne)
* Dance Me A Dream (Jace and Tara), part of the Romancing The Holidays anthology
Q: Are there crossovers with other series?
YES! My Meet Cute Romance series of novelettes includes two Wishful stories.
* Once Upon A Coffee (predates To Get Me To You)
* Once Upon A Setup (the prequel to Just For This Moment)
My WISHING FOR A HERO series takes a look at the more suspenseful side of Wishful.
* If I Didn’t Care (Judd and Autumn)

This is book 5 of the Wishful series. In typical Kait Nolan fashion her characters come to life and become part of your set of friends, the ones you want to hang out with on a lazy afternoon or when you need someone to have your back. Wish I Might is probably the sweetest, least complicated book of the series. There was so little conflict that I had to think about it before I could really remember exactly what it was that went wrong. It’s a book that you can easily get through in an afternoon or at the very most a day.
Wish I Might is a fun, quick, quirky romance from a true Southern small town where everybody knows your business. If you’re looking for some light reading with Southern charm this will satisfy your craving. The entire Wishful series focuses on family, community, and romance.
Liked the characters and the setting of the story. There are more stories about Wishful and can’t wait to read them. You can forget problems for a bit and spend time in Wishful.
I have enjoyed each of the books centered in Wishful Mississippi. Will continue to acquire each new one.
Good read!
WISH I MIGHT is a standalone read with a HEA. Set in Mississippi, the small town of Wishful, this story is about the local bookstore owner Reed. He is sure he has met his best match, Cecily, but a misspoken word ended their short relationship
Now Cecily is leaving to interview with a very successful marketing firm in San Francisco. Things were going quite well when these two finally got back together and then a well meaning store clerk set off fireworks with her bit of gossip. These two have quite an adventure before they find their HEA. This is a fun, entertaining read. I can’t even remember the sex scenes so they couldn’t have been that explicit. But they are both young, sexual beings so there were a couple of times they got together. Nothing a teen couldn’t read.
This is a fun series and this was a good story of a couple of more of the town’s citizens. I would definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 8/20/18.
Wishful Thinking: What a sweet and nerdtastic story about Cecily and Reed in small town. Love the Wishful series.
Wonderful story line and great characters.
Predictable, but a nice story.
Misunderstanding plays a big role in this story, twice. Two people so obviously meant to be together, take a little longer than most. Thoughtful, witty and steamy. A sweet read.
I really enjoy Kait Nolan’s books. Her characters are wonderful and the stories are entertaining and real!
Sweet but predictable. The characters were pretty standard and I felt like I knew them from other books. The heroine does the usual run away without letting the too good to be true guy explain.
Great read!
entertaining books. reading free offerings, may actually purchase others in series. Not too involved and can be read as stand alones.
Wish I Might is a fantastic contemporary romance by Kait Nolan. Ms. Nolan has provided readers with a well-written book and furnished it with amazing, lovable characters. Cecily followed her boss to Wishful and her position will soon end. Reed owns a bookstore in Wishful. Cecily and Reed’s story is packed with drama, humor, spice and a little suspense. I enjoyed reading Wish I Might and look forward to reading more from Kait Nolan in the future. Wish I Might is book 5 of the Wishful Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
A delightful read with a very happy ending!!
I love this series by Kait Nolan. 5 stars for each book.
Was a great book. Sometimes suspenseful. Good read
