New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Liliana Hart’s first book in her suspenseful Gravediggers series, featuring an elite group of mysterious men who might be dead to the world, but are also tasked with saving it—and no one can ever know. The world thinks they’re dead. The world is wrong. Deacon Tucker is a dead man walking. A former black ops agent, he was disavowed and stripped of … agent, he was disavowed and stripped of all honor before being recruited as a Gravedigger. But his honor and good name no longer matter, because no one knows he’s alive, and he’ll never get the recognition he deserves. His mission is simple: save the world or die trying. And for God’s sake, don’t ever fall in love. That’s a rule punishable by death. The kind of death a man can’t be brought back from.
Tess Sherman is the only mortician in Last Stop, Texas. She has no idea how Deacon Tucker ended up in her funeral home, but she’ll eat her hat if he’s only a funeral home assistant. Deacon is dangerous, deadly, and gorgeous. And she knows her attraction to him can only end in heartache.
Deacon is on a mission to stop the most fatal terror attack the world has ever known—what’s known as The Day of Destiny—a terrorist’s dream. But when he discovers Tess has skills he can use to stop them, he has to decide if he can trust her with secrets worth dying for. And, most important, he has to decide if he can trust her with his heart.

I enjoyed the mix of Mitch Rapp and steamy romance! Interesting. Have read all three and wonder why there are no more.
Will the series continue? Still want to find out the back stories of the rest of the Gravediggers. Please.
Took a long time to actually gain and hold my interest; by about 50% I found myself wanting to know what happens.
However it quickly grew dull again and the continuity issues continued to become more prevalent. This was a DNF for me. If the author couldn’t bother with continuity, why should I spend my time on it?
The lack of editing makes me hesitant to read anything else this publisher produces.
2 stars.
I just came across the book while strolling down a book isle in a local store. The cover and the title just spoke/gabbed my attention. So I purchased it and read it. It was very easy to read with many twists and turns. It was hard to wait for the next installment. It was thrilling and enjoyable to read.
The Darkest Corner is the first book of the new Gravedigger series from Liliana Hart. I just want to start by saying that I love the Addison Holmes Series by Ms. Hart. She is a wonderful writer. I have been meaning to try out some of her other novels, so I was super excited to be picked to review this brand new series. I have to say I was not disappointed. This book was action packed thrill ride.
You have a lonely, smart mortician running a funeral home and then enters 5 hot sexy men, whom carry a dark secret. They are all declared dead and working for a complex secret operation. The use the funeral home as a front for their identities. In a small town like Last Stop, everyone knows your business. Will the guys be able to save the day and their identities?
This is a fast paced romantic thriller. It is full of suspense and action. You can’t help but become part of the story. You will not want to put it down, afraid you will miss something. I loved the characters and was so interested in their story. This could easily be a great movie. Anyone looking for a great romance with spy quests will love this book. Ms. Hart is a wonderful author. If you have not read any of her books, then I suggest you start. I promise you will not be disappointed. #Happy Reading!
I am reading this book and the next at the same time they are wonderful! The storyline is different from any I have read. The males in the series are dead to their families and friends and basicly blackmailed into to service by a very evil woman by the name of Eve. I am trying to be optimistic about Eve but not real easy to do. I hope people read this review and that it peaks their interest to read this series.
good book
This book was OK, not too realistic, good characters and lots of action
moving ,thought provoking.. this maybe a be futuristic thing, who knows
I was hooked at the beginning of the book, but I gradually lost interest the deeper I went into the story.
The romance between Tess and Deacon was good and steamy, but it was a bit boring.
The enemy that the gravediggers were going against was also somewhat uninteresting.
I loved the plot and idea of this series, but this story wasn’t a home run for me. I’ve read the beginning to the next book in the series, and I am willing to give this another shot.
