Overall, I’d give this story 3.5 stars. Plenty of action, twists & turns, death, intimacy, and some truths. There are a few scenes that felt forced or didn’t necessarily aide the storyline. But other than that my only real gripe is the whinnying inter monologue by Feyre during critical times. Shake, shake, shake! Uggh! Anyway, overall A Court of Wings & Ruin was entertaining. I have this book in both ebook & audiobook versions. The narrator did a nice job with providing unique voices and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.
LOVE IT
Okay…how can I say this without sounding crazy… READ THIS BOOK. Oh my god, you learn so much, Feyre’s dad is great, READ IT.
Awesome addition to the Court of Thorns and Roses series! Rhys & Feyre!
I love this series! They’re amazing. I can’t wait to read the third book.
Great series. Beautifully written.
Another incredible book by Sarah J Maas.
This wonderfully vivid world has me swooning to be part of the night court I must say. The characters still so full of charm and selfless bravery it brings them near and dear to my heart. If anyone out there loves fantasy and wants to go on a journey they will NEVER forget. Join Feyre on her mission to make things right, pick up A Court of Wings and Ruin. You will not be disappointed.
One of my favorite series. I LOVE these books more than anything. You can never guess what will come next and the twists are amazing.
This book is a wonderful conclusion to the trilogy of A court of Thorns and Roses. Though I do believe that the second book is the best out of the three. Readers are just swept away by the epic tale of Feyre and Rhysand. I was expecting Feyre to be a little stronger in the end, but the book came out just as great as the rest!
This book was a roller coaster of emotions. I couldn’t stop reading it and in fact, when I finished it a few days ago I noticed that my clock read 2’o clock in the morning. Even though Sarah J. Maas already built the whole fairy world in ACOMAF, she wasn’t done and had more to add. I appreciated seeing new characters and the other part of the world I didn’t get to see.
As for the characters, I enjoyed seeing how much Feyre change throughout the whole trilogy. I enjoyed seeing how Feyre moved from her traumas and become stronger. She actually is now a force to be reckoned with. Watch out Tamlin.
Another part of the book that I enjoyed is the action and war scenes. I liked most of the fight action sequences between the characters. Just the let you know that the book mostly focuses on going to war and being in the war. I enjoyed that the war wasn’t glorified but the book should it’s ugly side and show how much it affects the characters.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and Sarah J. Maas didn’t disappoint me in any way. And I am also looking for to reading more from her and might even give Throne of Glass a try.
I loved it and thought it was the perfect ending to the trilogy.
Wow! The world that Sarah creates for her characters is real! I all the characters even if they’re bad!!! I adore that this book centers around BADASS WOMEN!!! I was lucky enough to see her during a book tour for Tower of Dawn and she spoke about how her mother & grandmother were the inspiration behind the strong female characters in her books. If you late to reading this series, like me, then I highly recommend reading before the next book in the series is released in May 2018!
It nearly took me two weeks to finish this, but I’m finally done. After waiting a year for this series to be continued, I have to say that it was not worth the wait and all the hype. Giving this 5 stars was totally out of the question as soon as I reached Part Two of the book. There was so many things wrong with the book. The Spring Court escape. That was part of the reason why I was so excited about reading it. But little did I know, it only lasted for a moment. I expected it to be more thrilling and filled with revenge. I thought that Tamlin would try and have sex with her and she would be inclined to fake it or something of that nature.
ACOWAR could have been cut by 200 or 300 pages because things were not progressing for more than half of the book! I was tired of reading conversations going on for about 50 pages or more. I was struggling to maintain interest that I took a break for a few days because I thought maybe it was just me. Part Two was just disrespectful in regards to the amount of pages that demonstrated nothing of interest. There was little sentences that peaked my interest, but other than that? It felt like eternity to get through, which is why I can’t rate this higher than 2 stars.
I want to mention that the sex scenes were appearing too frequently. I felt like in Part Two, there were sex scenes in ever chapter. It was confusing, unnecessary and quite annoying after the first two times it happened. We understand that Feyre and Rhysand are mates, yes. But the fact that they decided to have sex in a tent in the middle of a war…Ridiculous, absurd and very, very annoying. It was cringe worthy. Every time. I couldn’t stand it. Now in Part Three is what ultimately saved this book a little. That was the action and content that I was expecting throughout the entire book! Sadly, it only lasted for about 100 pages or so. Disappointing once again. I felt as if majority of the book was just to live up to the standard of having more than 400 pages in the first and second book.
After reading ACOMAF, I thought that the third book would be even better, but like I say, expectations leads to disappointment. I don’t know what the fourth book is going to be about, but I see nothing to be excited about so far.
*No Spoilers* (There is nothing to spoil)
I’m so disappointed. I YEARNED to read this book. The first two were so good! The 3rd one was written like Ms. Maas wrote all her ideas on notecards, threw them up into the air, and wrote them down no matter how they landed.
So many things either were completely unnecessary to the plot, didn’t make sense, or failed to come to any conclusions. Feyre basically tells the reader near the end that you should expect more books and will learn what happens with whom then.
It became boring. It became ridiculous at times. Let’s pause in the middle of battle, under a serious time constraint, to have a lengthy discussion about the same thing we’ve been discussing for half of the book! The intelligence, the power, the strength, the wit of the characters dissappeared in this book. Read it anyways, just to complete the story, but be prepared to grit your teeth and yawn quite a bit.
Absolutely loved it!
