Loneliness is a desolate feeling that claws its way into the very fabric of your life, dragging you to despair. It is an isolation of your heart and soul and a rejection of everything you are, and everything you try to be, by the very people who should be showering you with love and acceptance…A life of solitude becomes the norm for Charlotte Whittaker. An emptiness fills her with a void so big … void so big that she finds herself running to escape it—running to be alone… It takes a new country and a new outlook on friendship for her to begin to build up her trust in others again.
Easton James wraps his heart in tissue paper, locking it away and hiding the key, as he tries to put distance between it and the life he thought was already paved for him. He walks a lonely man—a band of patient friends by his side—searching for answers that will reunite him with the man he knows hides deep inside of himself.
Travelling roads of uncertainty that push and pull them like magnets, the pair discover a middle ground on uncharted territory that gives them hope for a chance at a new kind of love.

This story was BEAUTIFULLY AMAZING! Top read of 2016! EMOTIONAL, HEARTBREAKING, BREATHTAKING. This story had me all over the place with my emotions. I loved meeting Charlie and Easton. These authors did an amazing job putting a story together that I loved, from the characters, to the book cover, music, video trailer and who’s getting the last word in;). I would love to see this story come to theatres. Definitely 5 Brilliant “TWINKLING” Stars!
I’m writing this review as I’m reading so I don’t miss a beat. Firstly, just wow! I don’t think there’s enough words for the book heaven I’m in right about now, it’s euphoric. I knew this was going to be one of those books that doesn’t leave you, you know the ones? The ones that bury themselves deep inside your very core? This was one of those.
Like I said I wrote this review in word so I didn’t miss anything out so I’ll start from the beginning. I LOVE the soundtrack, I played each song while reading the correlating chapter! It’s not necessary to do if you need silence while reading but it made it deeper for me and I 100% recommend you go listen to the playlist after reading…like now. In chapter 3, you and me by Lifehouse was the perfect song and I found myself grinning like the Cheshire cat while it played. I got excited at every new chapter knowing I had new songs to play to go along with the words that had me hooked. Thank you for introducing me to some beautiful and emotion evoking songs and artists, they will be a staple in my everyday playlist and when I listen to them I will think of Charlie and Easton.
Now onto the story, the toe curling, heart pounding, laugh out loud, awe inspiring story. Charlie just wants to be accepted for who she is and is running away to finally find herself while Easton is running away to get away from himself and his life back in New York. Both on the journey to discovery they find themselves at loggerheads with each other. At first their relationship was sarcastic and a little volatile as they both were irritated and confused by their attraction and pull towards one another. But as the story moves on the development of the relationship is beautiful and believable.
“I freeze as my eyes find his, the space between us almost closing like the zooming in of a camera lens…”
The way in which their feelings are described towards each other and the war inside their heads just gave me chills, the writing there was nothing short of beautiful and…well…this book…all the feels…seriously. And while I normally find myself drawn to one character more than the other, I really couldn’t choose and wouldn’t want to, I loved them both equally and I related to them both.
The secondary characters were just as well written, I loved Cherry! She helped bring the story to life and gave insight into an Easton we were curious to find out about.
“Fear is a common emotion, an infection, and when it is left to fester like an untreated wound, it seeps into your bloodstream, slowly poisoning you. I was poisoned by fear.” These words seeped into my skin and left me breathless, such a beautiful analogy and this wasn’t the only one. These author’s have a way of writing straight to your heart.
There were parts that had me inwardly fist punching the air, moments I couldn’t stop grinning and moments where everything hit me right in the feels and there was nothing I could do about it…hook line and sinker.
Just know that when you read this book you’ll be left with a warm fuzzy feeling that you don’t want to go away. I finished WFTE a little over 15 minutes ago and I’m sitting here thinking ‘what am I going to do with myself now? I’m a little sad that it’s finished, but I’m happy as hell I got to read, experience and love these characters. I devoured this book in a single day but it won’t be leaving me anytime soon.
In conclusion, I have no more words but BRAVO, and I will hold Charlie and Easton in my heart with my other treasured book characters. Thank you Katie and Eleanor.
