With honesty and heart-rending emotion, actress and filmmaker Dyan Cannon tells the story of her topsy-turvy relationship with Hollywood legend Cary Grant. Cannon’s captivating narrative takes the reader behind the scenes of Hollywood’s Golden Age, inside America’s high court of glamour and notoriety in which Cary Grant was king. In his private life alongside Cannon, however, a story that began … began with all the romance of his famous films—Charade, To Catch a Thief, An Affair to Remember or The Philadelphia Story—would end up taking a series of tragic and unpredictable twists and turns. In sharing Grant’s inside story for the first time, Dear Cary is exactly what Hollywood is always looking for . . . the next blockbuster, and a story for romance lovers of all ages.

So I am not a fan of Cary Grant. His characters are too obviously false in nature to interest me: all mask and no substance. As for Dyan Cannon, I was not really aware of her until this book. But against that, I like biographies, so I bought it …
I found it interesting as I was a fan of Dyan Cannon but never of Cary Grant.
Pretty well written and very interesting!

Rather tragic that Dyan was caught up in his web for so long – always trying to please him to the point she almost died! While I’m sure he really cared …
Dyan Cannon is a strong writer with superb vocabulary and insight. It took many years for her to figure out what happened during her courtship and marriage to a screen legend. Her ending nails it. Worth the read.
For those that have interest in “old” Hollywood – this is a very interesting read. I enjoyed the 1st hand account of Cannon’s life with Cary Grant.
