A shifter without a pack, Janna Lawson goes in search of the man who her mother died trying to protect. What she finds is Garrett Foster, a man who has the power to decide her fate and causes a hunger inside her that is forbidden to them both.
I love Teresa Gableman her books are always engaging and keep you wanting to know more. I love me a hot Alpha man and Garrett doesn’t disappoint . When he meets his mate Janna his wolf practically jumps for joy , only Janna isn’t impressed with his dominant ways and defys him at every turn . Soon Garrett where’s her down and she finally accepts what deep in her heart she already knew .However danger comes knocking and soon all hell breaks loose. Janna has never shifted afraid she will hurt someone so she kept her wolf under tight wraps until tragedy strikes and her wolf is the only one that can save her. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the next book in this series .

I really liked this book but wished it could’ve been a bit longer. I liked the connection between Garrett and Janna. Janna came into Lee County looking for her father after her mother was k*lled and herself being marked to ask her father why and tell him that she died protecting him. That initial meeting didn’t go too well as Janna threw some hard truths at him. I loved getting to meet both of Garrett’s brothers Marcus and Hunter and man Hunter is a handful and likes to sh*t stir. I’m really looking forward to reading their stories, especially Hunter. I’d recommend this book, series and author.

Well written, well edited. The brothers are excellent characters. This series is a little different in that it’s unheard of to have a human mate, so that’s a nice change. I think my favorite part was how Janna, being have human and half shifter, didn’t immediately fall for the “love at first sight” thing. Janna’s human side rebelled and that made it a little more realistic for me.

Janna Lawson hobbles into town with two young people in tow, looking for the Alpha of the pack. She doesn’t realize the man she is looking for is no longer Alpha and finds herself answering questions to Alpha Garrett Foster. Garrett knows Janna is his mate but he wants answers. Answers she gives but she has no plan on staying and putting his pack in danger. Now Garrett has to prepare for the threat coming and convince Janna to stay and embrace the wolf inside her.
This was really entertaining. A one sit read that had me anxious to get to the next page. Had this for awhile and should have read long ago. Highly entertaining.

What I liked best about this book were the characters and their distinct personalities. The writing flowed nicely, and the reader easily gets pulled into the book. The plot was simple but enjoyable, and the ending was predictable given the set up. The author left the door open for various characters to have their own story in the series, and I expect those will be enjoyable reads.
What I didn’t like was the author not explaining the one character’s use of telepathy. This was out of the blue, as if the author placed it there as a convenient way to solve a problem. If there is going to be telepathy involving the heroine, then one would expect it to be with her mate or blood relatives, not a person she barely knows. There was no explanation or mention of this device elsewhere, how it was possible, if it was possible for all shifters or select ones, or between family lines, etc. Perhaps this was an attempt to establish the use of telepathy for an upcoming book in the series, but it was out of place here, and left me asking questions that should have been resolved by the end of this stand-alone book.
Another aspect I didn’t like in what I thought was an otherwise smart/cautious heroine was the often-used ‘let’s ignore the male’s advice and instead trust that the bad-guy will live up to his word.’ I understand/applaud a heroine’s need for independence, especially in a male-dominated alpha-themed book, but when the heroine is not a fighter and has no real experience fighting, why does she feel she should blatantly ignore the seasoned fighter and take matters into her own hands and still expect to survive? It seems like the author fell into the trap of how to put the heroine in danger so the hero would have his chance to rescue her. I think the author can do better than that.
Overall, this was an enjoyable, easy read, with very likeable characters that have interesting stories. For anyone who is concerned with a book’s editing, this book had a few minor errors that did not pull the reader out of the story. I will read more of the author and the series.

Loved it! First time read for me by this author. Short but very thorough read. Janna proved to be a strong and somewhat funny heroine. Garrett, the alpha, of the pack showed that when he found his mate, to be patient and strong, when she needed him the most. I absolutely adored all three brothers Garrett, Marcus and Hunter! 4 SOLID STARS****
