The book is a good romance read. The book is the second story in the Kismet series but it can be read as a stand alone read. The characters are good. The story has a good story line.

Addie sure is a spit fire!! Although this is part of a series, it could be read as a standalone story as well…. But I recommend reading both, they’re MORE THAN worth your time!!! I cannot wait to read more!!
ARC received from BookSprout for an honest voluntary review.
Due to sexual situations, this book is recommended for readers 18 and older!
I’ve been wanting to read Addie’s book since she was introduced in Crossing the Line. She was a firecracker and I wanted to see what other trouble she could find herself in. I love that she was able to give Finn peace. I was heart wrenching what he went through. Now on to Halle and Luke’s book.
This book was heartwarmingly excellent. It was a pure joy to read. I loved how it tugged at the emotions from the very beginning. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
I Recommend this book for OVER 18 DUE TO CONTENT. This storyline is about Victoria’s sister Addie.
Addie and her friends decide after the first week of school teaching they need to go out.
They run into some firefighters in a bar and hang out. One of the firefighters draws Addie’s interest.

I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to receive an arc to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just couldn’t get enough of it and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I recommend that you read it.
Wow this is the 2nd book on the series! Addie goes out with the girls and ends up running into a hot fireman named Finn but what she doesn’t know Finn has a past that could ruin them but will it? Another amazing book by this author a lot of suspense!

This is a good addition to the series. It was well written, had a great storyline and the characters were well thought out. I enjoyed the read and recommend it to all. Addie had demons from her past. She meets Finn the hot firefighter and the sparks fly. They make a good couple. I recommend it to all. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.
3.5 stars rounded up.
When love ’em and leave ’em party girl, Addie, meets hot firefighter Finn, she’s intrigued not only by his looks, but by the pain she senses in him. But, he’s standoffish and more than a little gruff, so she tells herself she doesn’t want to get involved. Fortunately, fate has something else in mind for the two, and soon they’re finding themselves involved. But it’s not easy because Finn has lots of damage and demons, thanks to his best friend dying while they were deployed. And Addie still has to decide if she even wants a serious relationship. But the biggest hurdle of all has to do with someone in Finn’s past who doesn’t want the two of them together. Can Finn save Addie when his past interferes in his present? Can they get past his demons and Addie’s fear of commitment?
I mostly enjoyed Taking the Heat. Both Finn and Addie are interesting characters, especially Finn. His demons were riding him hard, making for a layered, though broody hero. Can’t wait to read Addie’s sister, Halle’s story next.
This is the second book in the “Kismet” series and the good storyline and well defined characters made this book a very enjoyable and entertaining read! I look forward to reading more from this author!
I know it’s the second book in the series, having not read the first one, I can say that it can be read as a standalone.
Addie is nutty and fun while Finn an come across as a jerk but is actually pretty deep.
It was a fun and mysterious.

This is the second book in the series and it’s just as good as the first. I loved Addie and Finn’s characters as well as the story line. It’s well written , moves fluidly and is an entertaining read. I’m looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I really enjoyed reading the first book so went straight on to read Addie and Finn’s story and I enjoyed it just as much if not a bit more than the first book. I just love Addie and could see myself being friends with her she was just nutty enough. It took a little bit for me to warm to Finn but once you get past him being a moody ass he kind of grows on you. Another great read I really liked it
