Love, Love, LOVE Whitney My Love!!! Judith McNaught is one of my favourite authors of all time!!!
An oldie, but definitely a goodie. I love this book so much. I know there are people that may have a problem with the main characters first sexual encounter, but I still loved the story and the progression of the characters. I wish Judith McNaught would consider writing a few more historical romances as I love all of the books that she sets in the Regency period or anything outside of contemporary romance. Crossing my fingers that she returns to this one day.
Well, where do I begin with this book. First let me say this, if there was a 10 star to this review, I would give it. Wait, I’m making my own rule this evening and give this book 10 stars, 2 snaps with a twist. WOW, WOW, WOW. This book had everything and the kitchen sink in the world of drama, romance and soap operas.
I could not, could not put this book down. It gave highs, lows, laughter, hi expectations and utter sorrow. Oh I loved the journey between Whitney and Clayton. As I read this book, I thought of Scarlet O’Hara a Rex orRet. I can’t remember.
Anyway, I was waiting for Clayton to say Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn. Whoa, this book was explosive. People, I don’t mean to carry on like this over a book, but oh this was a good one. Trust me, read the book. Give your review of what you think about it.
Oh, one more thing. Thank you Stephen for putting two and two together as you were listening to your brother at his lowest point and bringing together two people who foolishly are blind to see that they both love each other.
This is a wonderful, well-written, historical romance novel with likable, engaging characters and a heat-warming romance.
Love at first sight or hate…lots of chemistry between the rake who falls for a spirited lady who finds him unlikable at first sight. Will dislike turn to love? Many misunderstandings stand in their way.
Whitney the misunderstood. One of my “keepers “. She has to grow up to become who she was meant to be. I love her, she never gives up her dreams to fit in.
This is a beautiful classic romance of the bygone bodice ripper era. I Have such a fondness for these old historical romances and found myself wanting to revisit this one after having not read it in years. It was just as captivating as I remember and I devoured it with relish. I only regret that this newer edition removed the controversial spanking scene. It fit the story and if the naysayers were really being honest with themselves, they’d admit that Whitney deserved it. She was being a brat and endangered Clayton’s life. I would have beat her ass too. *shrug*
Anyway, my one gripe with this book is simply that it contains a romance trope it loathe … the BIG MISUNDERSTANDING that tears the couple apart when it could all be cleared up with conversation. I can usually grit my teeth and bear it but I’d forgotten how often it happens between Whitney and Clay. For the love of God, how hard is it to TALK?? This book could have been a lot shorter and sweeter without some of the idiotic assumptions these two make without asking for clarification. After the first misunderstanding I wish they’d learned to act like adults.
Despite that minor annoyance, I couldn’t put the book down. It was engrossing, and the chemistry between Clayton and Whitney leapt off the page. The ending was beautiful and sweet.
I love Judith McNaught’s book. This one literally made my heart pound.
One of my favorite books. Its hard not to fall involve with Whitney.
One of my favorite Judith McNaught writings. She has a writing grace beyond compare. Everything she writes is silk.
