Confessions of a Bad Boy Episode 1: Never Commit
I’m the internet’s favorite Bad Boy – the guy who’ll tell it to you straight. No bullshit charm. No excuses. Consider it a public service, letting women know the truth about what guys are really thinking and teaching guys how to get what they want.
Yes, we were checking that girl out.
No, you don’t want to meet her parents.
And no, ladies, … parents.
And no, ladies, we don’t care what shoes you wear – as long as they’re up around our neck by the end of the night.
Life was simple, until fate brought me back together with Jessie.
My best friend’s younger sister, who I just happened to have the hottest one night stand of my life with four years ago.
Who calls me at 3 AM to get bailed out of jail.
Who I can’t keep my hands off of.
And who can never find out who I really am.
She’s off-limits, but I don’t care. And when I need a fake girlfriend to help me out of a jam at work, she’s the only one who can help. Now I’m stuck sharing a hotel room with her for the weekend.
A long, sexy weekend.
This is your Bad Boy, signing off.

It was an ok book but I did not like Nate at all. He was a manwhore before he started having sex with Jessie but he was a real Ahole when he was still making those horrible videos after having sex with Jessie. I’ve read the book Unprofessional by this author and I liked it so much better than this one. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Too forced situations.
A different kind of love story.
Really enjoyed watching Nate change. Wonderful HEA
This was funny sexy and spicy. The heat is a 5 out of a 5. I don’t usually read books like this. I find most boring but JD did a superb job of writing. I fell in love with the bad boy after this.
Beautiful story . Unexpected life changing.
Kept waiting to like the characters more, but it never happened.
12/27/2020 “Confessions of a Bad Boy” was a fantastic book that I could not put down until I read the final sentence at 2 a.m. I always love stories about childhood friends who fall deeply in love. Nate’s and Jessie’s story was full of angst and heartache until their HEA. The ending was very powerful and just blew me away. WOW. I intend to read more books by Mr. Hawkins.
I really enjoyed this book. I definitely recommend this book.
Bad boy reforms once he finds his special someone.
I liked the concept. It’s the make version of sex and the city. And he never kept it like it was a secret so I found Jessie’s reaction to be a little ridiculous. They both knew the score from the start. Sex only. Just because she started to have feelings wasn’t his fault. Then she got mad at him for the way he was when that was what she wanted when they first started hooking up. Just sex. Granted I don’t think it was really just sex from the start because they have known each other for so long. Cute ending.
So I have my own confession to make first: I was for sure I knew exactly how this book was gonna before I ever started it…and I was totally right. Well, at first anyway, but then things changed! There was definitely steam and such but also a dash of drama and lots of heart. I was really glad to be proven wrong. This was my first read by J. D. Hawkins but it won’t be my last.
4.5 Heartwarming, Sweet & Sizzling Stars!
This was a heartwarming, sweet, and sizzling hot forbidden romance. Jessie and Nate have been friends since they were kids. Nate is best friends with Jessie’s brother, Kyle, and the three of them have always been close. Jessie and Nate have both harbored secret feelings for the other, until one night with too much drinking, they acted on their feelings. Of course with the initial awkwardness afterward, they agreed to never talk about it again. Over the years Nate has always been there for Jessie’s ups and downs when her brother couldn’t. Now Nate needs Jessie to go on a work retreat and pretend to be his fiance. These close quarters make them realize their fiery attraction and chemistry is still as explosive as ever. They decide to have a secret affair knowing that Kyle would never understand or approve of his best friend being good enough for his sister. That is because he knows about Nate’s secrets. He has a Bad Boy vlog, that Kyle helped him start, that has the camera showing only Nate’s abs as he gives advice about sex, and avoiding relationships. Nate was raised by a father who didn’t care and an absentee mother, so he doesn’t believe in love. Jessie works hard with little to show for it, she has dreams of having a home and family, but doesn’t have time for a relationship. It was a perfect arrangement at first, until feelings start to form, and then secrets become exposed, breaking both their hearts. I really loved both Nate and Jessie, and the way their relationship evolved. Jessie was sweet and fun, altho she made poor choices at times, she was strong and resiliant. My heart broke for Nate. He is so kind and thoughtful but he believes that noone will ever stick with him, causing him to build walls around his heart. They were so perfect together, having fun, helping each other, and their passion was off the charts. I was a bit frustrated with their fear of coming clean with Kyle but loved how that played out. I love a great epilogue and this one was swoony and fun. I really enjoyed this charming, emotional and sizzling romance!
In Confessions of a Bad Boy, our Hero, Nate, and our heroine, Jessie, accidentally enter into a friends with benefits arrangement, hiding it from her brother, Kyle, who also happens to be Nate’s best friend. Having grown up together, Nate and Jessie have an easy friendship that grows into something else on a couple of different drunken evenings. Unbeknownst to Jessie, Nate is hiding his wildly popular online persona where he freely shares his insights on pleasing a multitude of women. His “play the field” ways are not loss on Jessie, who is looking for her forever guy, but willing to have fun with Nate along the way. Nate is devoted to Jessie while they’re in their “benefits” arrangement, but the more time they spend with each other, feelings start to change. Not having positive role models growing up, Nate doesn’t understand the feelings that seem to be consuming him. Jessie knows love, but she doesn’t see a future with a womanizer like Nate. The chemistry and friendship between the two make for a great romantic relationship, but they need a catalyst to change the dynamic. Can Kyle be the explosive reagent that brings them together??
I enjoy reading a male author’s spin on romance from time to time, and JD Hawkins does not disappoint. The confessions Nate shares online provides an interesting perspective of what’s going on in the male mind while he enjoys consensual relationships with a variety of different women.
Okay I’m ready to write my review, now that I’ve stopped sobbing. The final paragraph of the epilogue brought me to tears, it’s beautifully touching and heartwarming. Confessions of a Bad Boy is a witty, fun, meaningful tale of a playboy and his hang-ups. There’s also a little forbidden love to boot.
Nate is our resident Bad Boy/Playboy. He enjoys quick, non-committal hook-ups.
“It ain’t easy living like me, sleeping with beautiful women every night of the week, taking things one second at a time, searching for the one beautiful connection, then throwing it away the morning after- but I’ll tell you this: It’s pretty fucking awesome.”
Nate takes his experiences and anonymously shares them on his vlog, his highly popular vlog. He has become an ‘internet-sex-pervert-guru-philosopher-asshole’ but people love him and his advice. Although Nate is riding high as a successful talent agent and vlogger, he’s hit the wall. He’s ready to move forward with his career and make the next move. When the opportunity arises he finds himself in a dilemma. He has to convince his longtime friend to play his fiancée for the weekend. Luckily for him, she owes him one.
Jessie is working long hours in the costume department. When she discovers her boyfriend had been cheating on her she may just go a little nuts and finds herself in a jam. Nate comes to the rescue and bails her out. It doesn’t take long before Nate needs a favor in return. Nate needs a fake fiancée and Jessie is the perfect candidate. They are childhood friends, who know each other best.
What transpires next is a crazy, aborting of a self-fulfilling prophesy. It’s an upward struggle for Nate to discover there’s life after non-committal hook-ups. He also struggles with the possibility of losing his best friends if Jessie’s brother discovers their secret. We got a glimpse of a over-worked, overly protective brother, Kyle, who has some man whorish tenancies. Love him!! The story has a HEA, as I mentioned earlier, that was beautifully touching and heart-warming. 5 Stars!
Loved it!! Can’t say enough good about JD Hawkins most recent book “Confessions of a Bad Boy”!! What a great story line. There’s Nate who is one Bad Boy who never wants a serious relationship, hates commitment and is totally honest about it. He has a vlog with thousands of followers where he a hides his identity and talks nightly about all his conquests in great description, giving advise on how to have casual sex with no strings. Nate grew up in a dysfunctional family living beside his best friend and his sister. The friendship he had with them was like a life line that he cherished above everything. There’s feelings between Nate and Jessie. He needs her to spend a weekend with his bosses pretending to be his girlfriend. How will that turn out? Is Nate able to just pretend or do feelings start to surface. Can Jessie play his game or is this just too much? These characters are well developed, I was drawn in from the beginning and found it very difficult to put down!! Good job as always JD, I think I love Nate even more than Jax, Dylan or Brando!!!! and that’s 3 HARD acts to follow!! A must read!! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
