Ok truth be told if I could give this book more than 5 stars I totally would. It was FANTASTIC!!! Totally what I was looking for in a romantic suspense book. This book was also a second chance romance done right!!
I was completely sucked into this story. With the authors writing I felt like I was in this story with these characters and facing the same fears they were. I haven’t read a Bella Jewel book before and I am so glad I took a chance on this book and author. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.
72 Hours is a standalone novel told primarily from the female POV but the author did throw in some surprise POV’s that I wasn’t expecting. This story was captivating from the prologue all the way to the end of the book. I thought the flow and pace were perfect and I have nothing to complain about with this story. Bella gave us amazing characters and a storyline that was unput down able!! She gave us the perfect mix of suspense, mystery, angst, love and romance. You will totally walk away from reading this book feeling fulfilled. Hands down this is the BEST book of 2017 I have read so far (and I have read some really great books)
I can’t tell you much about this storyline because it would spoil so much. Just know that this book is a story about survival, strength, love and finding your inner self. I loved that she added the second chance romance into this story….it mixed well with the suspenseful storyline. I loved that she was able to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the WHOLE book. I will warn you that this book is kind of detailed and if you don’t like violence in your stories this might not be the book for you. I normally don’t like a lot of gore in my romance novels, but this wasn’t overly graphic to the point of nausea but just enough that you could’ne help feel what the characters were feeling. Absolutely PERFECT!!!!
I honestly could go on and on about this book, but I don’t want to slip and spoil any of this book. Just READ THIS BOOK!!! You won’t be sorry. If you are a fan of Bella Jewel’s books and love a great thriller mixed with the perfect love story, then don’t miss out on this book!!!
Ohhhh I really liked this one! This is probably one of the better thriller reads I have read by Bella, because it has been awhile since I’ve read her. Loved the narration too.
Bella Jewel flawlessly combines romance and suspense to create a thrilling story that will have you swooning and biting your nails all at once.
Nick is a strong sexy firefighter who is fighting to protect the woman he loves. Lara is broken and struggling to survive in the aftermath of loss. Nick was easy for me to love because I believed there was more to their breakup than we were originally told and I admired the way he fought for Lara. Lara took some warming up to because her tendency to run instead of fight annoyed me. In the end, I loved both characters and could not get enough of their story.
After 72 Hours, I have already downloaded more of Bella Jewel’s works to read.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Actual Rating 2.5
I tried so hard to like this book and while I did in fact finish it, it was a tremendous struggle. The one thing I did really like about this book was the killer, who was so dark and twisted. I loved reading from his pov and he was by far the most interesting character. I also really liked the fact that they have to fight for their lives.
It didn’t take long in my reading of this book to completely loath the heroine. She is by far the reason I wanted to stop reading this book. She was completely dumb and I don’t like when plot are built around bad decisions of characters. And she made a whole lot of them. I didn’t feel connected to her at all and while I did like Noah, her ex, I wasn’t convinced of his love for her. Maybe there wasn’t enough background into their relationship or the characters, just flashbacks the heroine has that are pertinent to something happening in the present. I loved the villain of this book, but I felt cheated in a way. Things get explained as the story progresses, but its not very clear as to why he targeted the heroine. I wanted to get more into his mind. The book kind of ended abruptly for me and I wanted something more.
I was a bit worried about diving into this story because of all the mixed reviews.
The main reason seemed to revolve around the heroine. And quiet honestly… I also found her really annoying.
There were some other hiccups throughout the story that were irritating. The antagonist had so many opportunities to kill the couple, and he constantly failed. I also thought the story skipped abruptly at certain parts.
The only reason why I’m giving this 3 stars is because I loved the idea and plot.
