When the Nazis invaded Hungary in 1944, they sent virtually the entire Jewish population to Auschwitz. A Jew and a medical doctor, Dr. Miklos Nyiszli was spared from death for a grimmer fate: to perform “scientific research” on his fellow inmates under the supervision of the infamous “Angel of Death”: Dr. Josef Mengele. Nyiszli was named Mengele’s personal research pathologist. Miraculously, he … he survived to give this terrifying and sobering account.

Very interesting, and tragic.
If you are interested in knowing more about the holocaust and what was happening to them and how some survived and how some were used as human lab rats this will fill in some blanks. One of many books on the subject and, I think, worth the read.
An insider’s view of Auschwitz, frightening description of what it took to survive.
The informative tone used throughout this book is stark against the first-hand horrors described. A must-read for WWII buffs!
Powerful
Not a subject we like to think about but necessary. This is an episode in the history of the world that must never be repeated. Occasionally we need to remind ourselves how things like this can come about and how beastial human beings can be.
A Great book. All the Little Children
Couldn’t finish. Read like a textbook
Moving, reminder of mans inhumanity to man during WWII. And mans will to survive.
I loved this book. It was a true book and very sad I would recommend it to anyone.

A doctor who tries to justify being a nazi enabler. Very sad
This is the tragic tale of one of the fortunate few to live through the Holocaust together with his family and to have the entire family emerge, intact at the end of the war. It is a sobering read to see the motivations of prisoners as they aid in the annihilation of their own kind while grasping the faintest threads of hope. Many details about …
Everyone should read it. We should never forget the this crime against mankind and never let it happen again.
Amazing horrific and tragic story of a terrible time in history.
An accurate account of what it was like to be a doctor under Dr. Mengele.
Very informative. Written from a superb point of view. Wonderful!
Very enlighten about history
