Samantha Glass is not your typical 19 year old girl. You will either find her under the
hood of her mustang or at the underground track racing for pink slips. Underneath the grease she is a gorgeous brunette that is just trying to deal with life the best way she can. She tries to distant herself from her abusive step-father and her alcoholic mother.
But when she gets a call from her little … her little brother one night her world changes.
Conrad Watts has always dreamed of being a professional racer but right now he’s content with racing the underground circuit. Taking care of his young misfit friends is his world. Driving is his world. When Samantha comes tumbling into his world there is no fighting the attraction he feels, however they will soon learn that the love of cars and racing is not the only thing they have in common.
Note: Full length standalone novel with HEA.

This story is an awesome example of taboo step-siblings done right! Sam is a teenage girl charged with caring for her 16-year-old brother after circumstances in their home go criminally bad. Conrad is the former stepson of Sam’s bio dad, who takes responsibility of Sam and her brother. There’s lots of sexually-charged tension between Sam and Conrad, especially when it comes to their run-ins on the underground racing circuit, where Conrad is like a god and Sam is trying to break into the scene. And the push-and-pull of should we/shouldn’t we is written well – not too sappy yet not cringey. The only reason I give this story 4 stars is because it was too short for me and felt a tad bit rushed. There are tons of emotional ups and downs (and the ending WILL crush you) that I felt could have been explored more and given more depth. All in all, it’s a great read that I’d recommend to anyone.
I love cars. Not just any car, but classic cars. So there is nothing sweeter than reading a book written by a woman with a female MC who loves cars and racing. Not to mention she’s pretty badass.
I really enjoyed Blindsided. There is so much more to this book than romance and cars. Its good to go into this book blind because knowing any information is sure to spoil the beauty of it all. Each character in this book has suffered in some kind of way and they each learn to deal with it through their love of cars. It what brings them together and make them family. Mostly I just loved all the talk of cars and racing. I flew through this book and enjoyed the thrill of the race. This book is about loss, hope, and family. The relationship budding between Samantha and Conrad is complicated, but oh so right. The story is fast paced and fun. It even has its serious moments that made this book so great to read. I will admit that I cried at the end because Luke’s story reminds me of a good friend of mine who suffered the same fate recently.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book was Samantha. Don’t get me wrong she was totally badass and can drive a car like a demon, but she was an asshole. I know it was because she also didn’t have a role model growing up and being exposed to unsavory behavior had an effect on her. By the end of the book I did like her.
I recommend this book and anything else Kylie has written. Kylie Walker is amazing and writes amazing books.
I have read a few “step brother” romance books but Blindsided is by far my favorite! Kylie Walker brings characters to life with everyday scenarios, sorrows and happiness and she did the same with Sam and Conrad’s story. Blindsided deals with some very real and very hard topics. I loved, loved, loved the fact that the heroine (Sam) was a strong, independent and capable girl. She protected those she loved even if her safety was the price to be paid. She has had a rough life and seen so much pain and hurt. Conrad is a sexy racer who has a few demons on his own but still finds himself falling hard for Sam and she for him. The story line is full of twists and turns and suspense. It is full of family and love as well. Another Amazing read from an Amazing Author!
