Awesome read!!! This author is one of my favourite discoveries. I absolutely loved this delicious book and had a hard time putting it down during the two days of power reading it took me to get through this wonderful mafia romance. Tia was the perfect amount of young and confused by new feelings, but also defiant. She was tough from a hard upbringing, but also sweet and uncorrupted. Tommy was incredible! I loved him!!! He’s probably one of the biggest alphaholes I’ve ever read, but you can’t question his love for his woman. So, of course, he’s perfect for me! I can’t wait to move onto his brother, Dare’s, book. Yay, so much goodness. Great work, D.D. Prince! I highly recommend this book!
D.D. Prince is a new writer to me but after reading and loving ‘Detour’ from this writer, I was really curious about her other books. And her book ‘The Dominator’ was the one that I was most curious about. A dark mafia book, being a fan of mafia books and dark books, this was a combination that I couldn’t exist! And again D.D. Prince made me very happy and hungry for more of her books.
From the moment Tommy Ferrano sees Athena (Tia) O’Connor’s photo, he’s intrigued by her and when his father tells him that this girl could be his wife (if he wants too) he can’t think of anything else. He never thought about marriage or having a wife, why would he when he can find women to please him all the time. But since that day he can’t think about anyone else expect Tia. And after meeting her, he knows that she’s the one he wants, in his bed and for his wife. Now, he just has to wait for the right time to make her his!
Tia O’Connor hadn’t had a fairytale upbringing but she liked to think that she did alright in the end. She’s graduating high school in a few days and then with the help of her foster parents she will live on her own and start college. Her future Is looking bright and beautiful. She never thought that a surprise visit from her father would change that brightly future and turn it into a nightmare. Her father told her that he needed her help, that he had some debts with some bad men but later on Tia discovers that it’s much more. He lied to her! He never told her that she’s sold to the oldest son of a local mafia man and has to marry him. And Tommy Ferraro lied to her as well, by being charming the first time they met and making her dream of the perfect guy when he, in reality, is cruel and cold.
Tia doesn’t want to give up her dreams so easily so she tries to get away from Tommy but when one of those times she gets in serious trouble it’s Tommy who saves her. But the problem is that although Tommy has a sweet side, he also has a really dark side too and that dark side really scares Tia. That dark side doesn’t only want to dominant her, that dark side loves to see fear in her eyes.
So in the end, the question is, can Tommy really change to her dream man or will Tia has to accept Tommy with his dark and his sweet side because one thing is for sure, Tommy will never give her up!
When you start a mafia book you know that there will be violence and pain. And when you know that it’s even a dark mafia story you can only hope that at the end of the story you like the man character or at least understand why the woman will choose him above freedom. I think that the writer D.D. Prince made the right decision by telling us this story from both POV’s. I loved the fact that we could read what Tommy was thinking and feeling. Because it’s a fact that he was sometimes really hard and even cruel to Tia but just like Tia, we also see the little changes in him and those changes made the difference for her (and for me). This story is built in layers, one layer is about Tia and Tommy and his dark sensual side (and this is also the most emotional layer), then you have the secret past from both fathers and you have the dangerous world where one move can be your last one. Because of these layers the story hold my attention for the beginning until the end.
As a reader it’s always excited when you discover a new writer whose books you love and for me D.D. Prince is one of those. The next book in this series is about Tommy’s brother Dario and I can’t wait to read it.
I don’t normally read “Mafia” books and I almost didn’t read this one, but once I got started I couldn’t put it down.
This is one of my favourite books of all time. DD Prince has definately a way with words. Tia and Tommys story is very steamy and definately a love hate relationship. You see and can definately understand how she falls in love with Tommy. He is just sex on legs, sexy dominating words that just make you feel weak at the knees. Tias story is very touching and you just love the dynamic relationship of the two of them. Definately worth 5 stars.
The Dominator By D.D. Prince is the book that first introduced me to this wonderfully talented author, there I was trawling through kindle unlimited when I came across this story and thought hey let’s give this a whirl, this sounds like my cup of tea, and boy am I so glad I did. From the moment I picked this up, it was glued to my hand, I just couldn’t leave this riveting story alone.
The Dominator is one of those stories that grabs you by the throat and won’t let go, it’s a roller-coaster of a ride where all you can do is hold on tight and prepare to enjoy the turbulent experience this narrative brings.
This was re-read for me, on account of the release of Unbound, book 3 in this enthralling series.
I wanted to dust off the cobwebs and refresh my old memory.
I found it just as compulsive reading as I did the first Read through which in my opinion is a sign of an excellently written piece of fiction.
To summarise This is the story of Tommy and Tia who through much uproar and a very rocky start, against all the odds and Tommy’s awful behaviour and mood swings manage to fall obsessively, at least on Tommy’s Part, hook line and sinker.
Now before you say aw !!!
The Dominator is far from a pretty hearts and flowers tale.
the Dominator is set in the world of organised crime.
It’s dark, depraved and far from romantic.
Tommy is no knight is shining armour, in fact, he’s the exact opposite and makes no apologies for this.
Despite this Tia strives to accept all of Tommy The light and the Dark, and at least for me, this Makes This saga a more realistic love story as life is all about shades and nobody is fully good or bad.
Me, I definitely have a major soft spot for Our Tommy, every time he mouths baby girl I melt into a puddle of goo.
So if you want a story that’s your going to need therapy for withdrawal after finishing this is the series for you.
Give this a go you won’t be disappointed it a first-rate read.
As everyone who has read The Dominator will say…. Tommy is King! He is like a cyclone of all male and is fierce. This was a can’t put down book and I cannot recommend it enough. I want to scream read this one now!
An apt title if I’ve ever seen one! Tommy is a total bulldozer who is totally enamored with, and therefore has a soft spot for, Tia.
Tia is young and naïve enough to not wholly grasp the consequences of her father’s debt. With that comes a roller coaster of emotions: anger, sadness, sassiness, and a fierce determination to find a way out of her new situation. So when an opportunity presents itself, Tia can’t help but seize it. Before she knows it, all hell breaks loose and changes the dynamic.
Tommy is a bit of a wild card, a Jekyll and Hyde type with his moods turning on a dime. Despite his alphahole tendencies, it would seem that he secretly seeks acceptance from his new queen, however.
As such, Tia’s determination begins to waver as Tommy uses her body against her. Although not completely trusting of Sarah, Tommy’s longtime housekeeper, she begins seeing snippets of Tommy’s story and his true nature through her eyes. This combination breaks down her walls bit by bit while Tommy also comes to the realization that he doesn’t want Tia broken, a shell of the feisty woman he fell in love with. And make no mistake, Tommy loves her fiercely.
The pace was a bit slow for me despite the action and some of the scenes made me wince. That said, I’m a sucker for a bulldozer and Tommy is a King among men.
Sexy, dominant alpha-hole meets his match!
Tommy Ferrano is an infuriating, possessive, aggressive, alpha-hole and I freaking love him! Tia is sweet, feisty, and in over her head with this dangerous bad boy. Past secrets between their fathers leads to some great suspense and plot twists. When all that is combined with Tommy’s & Tia’s red hot chemistry and struggles and Tommy’s swoon worthy efforts to make Tia happy, I couldn’t get enough!
Good grief! My head and my heart was so over the place with this! Tia is tossed into an impossible position by her poor excuse of a father, Tommy also really. But he is drawn to her and is determined to take control of the situation. They are fire and ice but there is so much more to this story as half truths and disloyalty unfolds. Who will be left standing?!
I look forward to catching up with the rest of this series.
“I went to sleep filled with emotions I’d never had before. Possessiveness, need, and fear. Fear of what, I didn’t know.”
Whew! What a story! This story had all the elements of a Mafia story that I loved. Forced Marriage, kidnapping, off the charts mean alpha who ends up falling in love with his captive. And family drama. Blood spilling. Enemies or not?
“I wanted him to pound me hard, to pull my hair, to spank me. What on Earth was wrong with me?”
19 year old Tia world gets turned upside down. Dreams of college life and friends are Poitier down the drain when she meets Tommy. And her life becomes revolves around this man who’s both good and evil.
“His mouth quirked up into a lazy smile, “I’ll stalk you to the ends of the earth, baby girl.”
With the dub-con and non-con….
I still loved Tommy.
People are products of their childhoods, parents, and environment.
Tommy is. But has the ability to change. And I loved watching him grow.
Can’t wait to read book two!
Wow. What a journey. Definitely one of the most intense books I’ve read about dark mafia romance.
If you like hot alpha male, jealous and possessive to dangerous extremes, this is your story. I enjoyed a lot Tommy and Tia story till more of half of the book. She’s young and clueless but strong and determined. And Tommy is not what he looks like. He has a huge dark side. He can be sweet, loving and caring but he also has deep issues regarding control and likes to play pretty twisted sex games. He thinks he has found in Tia his perfect partner and she is about to find that attractive and hot Tommy maybe is more than she can handle.
Their relationship is interesting and I also like other characters like Dario and Bianca. Although I didn’t like the attitude of Tia finally accepting some parts of Tommy and didn’t agree with her decisions or what she became , I think this book is pretty good and challenge you to consider things and ask yourself about dark themes in intense relationships.
This book is definitely for mature audience and has some triggers so be prepared.
I would not recommend this book. It should not be listed under romance. If, rape fantasy is your style this is your book.
“He was unpredictable and to me, that meant he was even more dangerous than I’d even realized because I didn’t know what to expect next from him.”
When you are warned this is a dark series take that warning as the truth. At times I’m thinking what in the world am I reading? At times I was wanting revenge, feeling fearful, teary eyed and fanning myself. This book has so many twist and turns, connections, mystery and emotions that will consume you.
“Any privilege or comfort you get is because I allow it. I can take it away. All of it.”
This book hits on some serious subjects that can be a trigger for you when reading. There are intense scenes about very deep emotional subjects of abuse and violence that may be hard to read. I’m glad I powered through. I like how it comes together at the end regarding some of the serious subjects.
“I need you to be strong. Don’t let me break you. Please don’t let me break you.”
Some characters that I originally wasn’t as fond of become some of my favorites as the series continued. Once learning backstories and seeing what drives their passion and their fears makes you embrace them even more.
“He was changing, right? Was he? Or, had I just changed to accommodate him?
