Daaaaamn!
And that doesn’t even begin to cover it, because I had a whole different, worse word I wanted to say.
What a freaking rollercoaster.
And. I. Want. MORE!
I must be a glutton for punishment and suffering, that’s the only explanation, because this book’s just probably stolen a few years of my life, yet I can’t get enough.
I have no idea what the last book of the series will bring my way, but I can say without an ounce of doubt that Entrapment is the angstiest book of this series so far.
Believe me!
You pay for the whole chair, but you’ll only use the edge.
Since the very first page I was hooked, edgy, scared and only anticipating the worst. Hope seemed to be beyond reach. I could imagine it, feel it, even smell it, but it seemed that we always came up short (and by “we” I mean Charli, Nox and I…somehow I felt involved).
It was so hard to keep the strength and hope. That Manor and the Devils within sucked all beauty around. They had the power to drain the colors and all was left was this gray scenery of dread and helplessness.
And oh my God, Alton, Suzanna and Bryce filled me with so much hatred and rage. I can’t remember the last time I felt so intensily about a character before. Whenever they were around, I’d see red and feel this growing urge to cause pain in them.
I wanted to be mad at Charli for not trying harder, but even I had to admit there wasn’t much she could do and she was playing the best game she could with the cards she was dealt.
She was a fighter, a warrior, but there were so many battles going on all at once and most of the time she had to fight them alone, compromising values she’d never waive weren’t for the house of horrors, while Nox would fight from the outside.
The only faint light of hope was that they weren’t completely alone. Allies they weren’t expecting came to their rescue, so all was not lost. I think.
This book was all-consuming, a continue whiplash left and right, that left me wary, completely in the dark and with my heart galloping within my chest.
I was even afraid to feel hope.
And the craziest part is: I loved every second of this nightmare.
There were a lot of shifting in this book: personalities became stronger, lines were drawn, true natures revealed, storylines became more clear. I was able to connect some dots early on, but the pieces really started to fall into place. I saw some themes reminiscent of the Consequences series, but I found that the love/hate rollercoaster didn’t apply here – just hate. I didn’t completely enjoy the flashbacks from Oren and Adelaide, but I think it may have been more impatience to get back to the present. They contributed what they intended to and were necessary for the overall story – I just wanted to get back to Nox and Charli 🙂 With that ending, I’m ready to jump right in to Fidelity!
OMG, THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME!! Aleatha Romig has done an amazing job with this series. Read in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. Read these books in order. Just when I think I will have my questions from the previous book answered, the author throws you a curve ball with a crazy cliffhanger and leaves you with your mouth hanging open in shock with more questions. I cant wait to read the next book!!!
I love the book and would read it again
Entrapment is the continuation of Nox and Charli’s story. As usual the author does not disappoint. This book was phenomenal! Charli and Nox find themselves in some seriously heart pounding situations. You learn more about Adelaide and Oren. The character development and Ms. Romig’s talent for story telling and detail bring the saga to life. This book, as well as the rest of the Infidelity series is a definite one-click!!!
Book 4 of this 5 book series, which must be read in order.
Wow, this had me gripped from page 1. Fast paced, lots of plot twists, angst, fear, anger, lust – this has it all.
We learn quite a lot in this about the Montagues and their secrets. The plot revolves around Charli/Alex being forced back to the Manor by Alton, using her mum as bait. Bryce and Alton are seriously horrid in this, with Bryce showing his true colours, he needs a good slap!!
We learn more about Oren and Adelaide as well, more secrets!!
Poor Nox is tearing his hair out to get Charli back, but the strong woman she is doesn’t want to leave her mum and Chelsea in danger.
It’s a real roller coaster of emotions this book, gripping, page turning, couldn’t put it down. This continues to build right through the book up until the utter cliffhanger of an ending in true Aleatha style!!! I knew it was coming but it didn’t stop me shouting at my Kindle – Nooooo!!
Fabulous, a must read, can’t wait for the final one!!
To say I have been eagerly awaiting this fourth book in The Infidelity Series by Aleatha Romig would be an understatement. I absolutely LOVE this series. Deception, Book 3, was my favorite read of 2016, until I read an advanced copy of Entrapment, Book 4. I received my advance copy by being the random winner in a contest. This is my honest review. If I could figure out how this author can captivate a reader from the first page and have them in her grasp until the last page and beyond until she releases her next book, I’d bottle it and sell it to every author I read! I’m not a fan of spoiler reviews and therefore, I will just say, this book blew me away. It was every bit as enticing, suspenseful, and delicious as the three prior books in this series. The characters and the story just jump off the pages and grab you by the throat, pulling you in and holding your attention until you are either screaming, crying, hyperventilating or maybe all three of those things at the same time! Then there is always the ending or as I like to refer to it, “the carrot dangling on the stick on the last page.” The idea that you must wait months for that carrot doesn’t sit well with some people. As for myself, I would wait years for that carrot where this author is concerned. In my opinion, her writing and her books are more than worth it. Whether you read for fun, for escape, for suspense, for an adrenaline rush, for relaxation, or for romance, this series has it all. I highly recommend this book and the entire Infidelity Series. I’m now anxiously awaiting the Fifth and final book in the series releasing early next year, although, to be honest, I’m not all that eager for this series to come to an end.
Brilliant- Incredible-Sensational
Heart stopping and gripping-
I loved Entrapment and this series- it is a must read. Entrapment is full of surprises-
Entrapment begins where Deception ended- although, each book in the Infidelity Series builds off of the previous one- questions are answered from the one before- but give a new set of questions begging to be answered in the next. Entrapment is suspenseful – a book that you cannot put down- just one more chapter but you will not be able to stop at one– leaving you sleep deprived from pulling an all night reading session and not regretting it. Entrapment is the 4th book in the 5 book Infidelity Series- and it does not disappoint.
The characters are no longer characters but close friends and family who need you- to cheer, fight and embrace all the same emotions that they are experiencing. Nox may have changed the rules for Charli in Cunning- but the rules have changed again. And the new rules are game changing for everyone who is involved. Friendships and loyalties are questioned and trust is hard to come by when everyone has their own agenda in the fight of a life time. New friendships are forged and old ones lost. Who will win- who can be trusted- above all who will risk it all for the one they love.
Aleatha Romig writes suspenseful books keeping you guessing until the end. She is a master of leaving clues along the trail- yet her readers continues to be awed by the end- never suspecting what was right before them. Entrapment is full of twist and turns leaving you unsure who is who- what, where and how are the connections interlinked. Each of Aleatha’s characters are laced with so much depth and mystery- revealing more of themselves as the layers are slowly pulled away. The dynamics and chemistry binds them together – whether it is love or hate- emotions are strong and determination to win is stronger. Aleatha brings the characters to life – love or hate them- but you will never forget them- some will forever be embedded into your heart.
Entrapment is beautifully written. Words woven together to create the perfect balance of an exceptional story- of love, hate, anger, forgiveness and hope- laced with heroes/heroines who you will fall in love with.
Completely loved this book & this series… this book wasn’t the far the most intense to date as secrets continue to be revealed and family histories are explained.
Loved all the characters , my hatred for Bryce and Alton intensified and I really wanted to slap Suzanna on so many occasions. Alex / Charli was such a strong character & continued to defy Alton at every turn.
This really is an intricately woven tale of one mans control from the grave .
Bravo Aleatha it has sucked me in , I need answers !!!
*** 4.5 Star Review ***
So here we have Charli… And Nox… And Alton… And Bryce… And a slew of characters who have been ever present and a few we might have forgotten about and didn’t think they really had any more importance in the story… But they do.
And the plot thickens. I couldn’t put it down. I got a few answers, which only raised more questions. Shocked? I am not shocked, yet the story itself continues to shock me. And awe me. And make my heart beat rapidly.
Good guys. Bad guys. Who is who? I can never seem to appraise Aleatha enough. Her brain is such a mysterious thing. Her stories are always so full of twists and turns; nothing is ever as it seems. I always wonder how she keeps it all straight and is able to keep the story moving in all directions.
So, this book is over… one more book to go… January… I have to wait until January. I am trying to mentally prepare myself for the end. I never seem to want her series to end. But then I always want to know what the end is. Then, I want more. I think I just confused myself.
“I’d told Charlie once that life wasn’t a fairytale and I wasn’t Prince Charming, but in my wishes, I’d imagined storming the castle and freeing the princess. That’s what she was to me: my Princess.”
Aleatha has blown me away with this latest release for the Infidelity series. Entrapment has so much angst I was one happy reader! The story was fast paced and did not let up on the drama.
Charlie left to do what she had to do. Alexandria is back and trying to save her mom.
Nox is slowing going insane not being able to save her. I kinda wanted more of him but I see why he wasn’t in it as much as I wanted.
Oren is trying to save Adelaide
Chelsea, Bryce and Alton…..SMH. They are so bad it’s scarey.
I am addicted to this series and I think this one has not let this series down. You have to read these books and see why I say that Aleatha is the queen of romantic suspense books.
ENTRAPMENT is the fourth of five full-length novels in the INFIDELITY series: Betrayal, Cunning, Deception, Entrapment, and Fidelity. ***And NO this book is NOT about cheating***
Told from the multiple POV’s of: Alexandria/Charli Collins, Nox Demetri, Adalaide Montague Fitzgerald, and Oren Demetri
Let the dog and pony show begin…
ENTRAPMENT begins right where we are left with the major cliffy at the end of DECEPTION: Charli (aka Alexandria or Alex) has willingly gone with Alton back to Montague Manor. *throws kindle* But we’ve learned, nothing is as it seems with this series. Charli has a plan. “I would survive. I’d done it before. But this time was different. This time I had help. Think Alton may be believe I was alone. I wasn’t. Nox was with me.” –Alex. “I needed to be strong if I held a chance of saving my mother.” –Alex. But not everything goes as planned. While Alex is trapped and under constant surveillance in Montague Manor with no ability to communicate with the outside world, Nox is back in New York, devising his own plans. “I’d free her if it were the last d*mn thing I did. But first, my goal is to understand my opponents. I wanted to know every detail, from the layout of Montague Manor—the ground and the house—to the way Alton Fitzgerald too his coffee. I wanted to know it all.” –Nox. But of course, they are not the only ones scheming… Alton is continuing with his plans to have Bryce and Alexandria marry. “Now that we had the will, it all made sense. It was the condicil, without Spencer and Charli’s marriage, Alton Fitzgerald could lose everything.” – Nox. With new enemies becoming allies and old friends becoming enemies, worlds collide and the outcome could be disastrous.
Pieces are starting to fit together. Plans are falling apart and coming together. Desperate times, calling for desperate measures. Lives in the balance. More trickery. Falsifying of legal documents. Two separate families are linked in more ways than one. Everything is coming to a head and Alex is at the center of it.
“There’s a game going on here and we unfortunately aren’t familiar with the rules.” – Deloris.
*checks pulse*
HOLY CATS! Now this is what suspense is made of! Aleatha Romig is at the top of her game with ENTRAPMENT! I don’t think my heart stopped racing during the whole book! Dishes got neglected, cereal got served for several meals in a row, kids went to bed 30 minutes early because mommy HAD to keep reading! It was torture every time I had to set my kindle down. I NEEDED to know what was happening next! And then chapter 41 hit…*sets kindle down*. This is when the adrenaline kicked into overdrive. I knew, just knew, I had to read chapter 41 to the end (chapter 45) in one sitting. Everything was going to hit the fan! So I did just that. After tucking my kiddos in for the night (early), I ran to my reading chair and did nothing but bite my nails, hold my breath and read. BIG MISTAKE! Why you ask? Because it ended on another cliffy! I kept tapping the corner of my kindle hoping and praying there was more! By chance Aleatha accidently sent me the final book (FIDELITY), but she didn’t *tears*. So after all the angst and heart racing, I can’t sleep. #ineedanswers. Now I have to wait until January!?!?! Thankfully the wait will be totally worth it because this series is PHENOMENAL and I’ll patiently (not so patiently) wait for it *wink*.
I want to end with, I cannot do this series justice by describing it to its entirety. All I can do is tell you, BEG you to read it! If you are looking for suspense and angst THIS is your series! You will NOT be disappointed.
10+ stars!
Read: 2/3/2020
Entrapment was the fourth in the five book series Infidelity by Aleatha Romig. It was the continuation of Alexandria Charles Montague Collins aka Alex or Charli and Lennox “Nox” Demetri and cannot be read as a stand-alone.
Entrapment started exactly where book three, Deception left off. I struggled with this one, not because it wasn’t well written, but because I disliked where it was headed. By the fourth book, I was ready to see a happy ending and we definitely weren’t there yet. But Romig continued with the suspenseful and action packed plot, unraveling all of the twists and turns from the previous books. As with the others, I believe the story could have been condensed into fewer books without losing the depth and complexity.
Fidelity is the conclusion and up next and I totally can’t wait!
Book 3.
We’re bang in the middle of the intriguing tale of Infidelity. From Tobacco farms of Savannah to dark underbelly of politics and illegal world of New York, starting from generations before, impacting generation ahead.
not all is what it seems,. It is optical illusion.
Charli is again at crossroads. She asked a question to Nox in the end of Betrayal.
He said – I can’t !!!
Deception picks up after I Can’t.
Explains why or why not. But the knots are getting more tangled and more intricate. Aleatha manages to put in twists and turns that boggle your mind.
Lennox’s character is reveling it’s layers. His past is catching up to him.
Alton and Bryce are as devilish as ever. Charli seems like a doe caught in the Crosshands . …literally.
It’s thoroughly enjoyable roller coaster ride.fasten your seat belts and try not to scream !!!!
Every.Single.Book in this series is fantastic! 4+ Stars! This book ramps things up for a no doubt amazing conclusion in Book 5, which I can’t wait to read! The characters are enrapturing, dramatic, complex and oh so good! Although I received this as an ARC, all opinions are my own.
You know that book you read and you wished you either prepared mentally for or upped your meds? Well this is that book I only made it in 33% and felt I needed to be committed. In only that little time I wanted to Kill, I cried ,I laughed then got mad again. The emotional roller coaster of emotions I felt like I should have been warned. The thing is Aleatha makes you think would I have, could I , am I patient enough.. No my mouth always gets me in trouble. My love for Nox only grows more with each book. Oren You won’t believe it but yes I feel in love with him. I liked him before now I fallen for him. I know what that can’t be right. See I’m telling you your going to need a good stiff Drink, I advise take any meds before hand. Grab the tissues and it won’t hurt to have a phone a friend or therapist on speed dial. Without SPOILERS or SPOILING I hope Alton, Suzy and Bryce get what the deserve ten fold. Chelsea I don’t know what or how to put into words without giving something up. Ok I warned you I can’t say anymore because I want ruin the experience for you. Aleatha you got your work cut out for you for Fidelity because this book ROCKED.. Even if I fear people are going to yell at you
Ahhh this book is awesome !!!
This good was so so so good. I ‘ve not read a book so quick. I couldn’t put it down read it in a day or was that good and I m not a quick reader. So it was a late nite haha. I needed to know how things were goin to go with Alex/Alexandria/Charli and Nox. There story is crazy but so good. I really cant get enough of this series. I m still kicking myself that I haven’t read this series or author sooner.
After the way the last book ended I was dying to know how things were goin to go. Things have been easy for Alex and it’s goin to get worst now she is under the same roof as her stepfather Alton. I really can’t stand him. Bryce is just as bad, I actually don’t know who is worst to be honest. They are both horrible. Luckily Alex as Nox/Lennon to look out for her. But in this book It’s not so easy for him to do that. When he can’t get near her.
This book was really hard to read at times I was shouting at my kindle. My heart goes out to Alex. Her emotions were all over the place. The whole not knowing what’s goin on was driving her and me crazy. The frustration for Nox and Alex went on through the book. But it did make me want to keep on reading I needed to know what was goin to happen. There was so much goin on I was rooting for Alex and Nox from the very start. I luv them as a couple they are so good together. But there is still so much that they both need to know. And with the way this book ended I can’t wait to start the next book. God that ending was a killer for me.
I highly recommend this book and series of you haven’t read it do you won’t be disappointed at all.
I am in love with this author!!
I am so glad I am just now reading the series. The suspense and anxiety are killing me, I would hate to wait for the next book to be released.
Each book has been well written. But the anxiety level and uncertainties have been the best. I can’t wait to start book five. Very well done.
