This was a good YA read, the the writing, world building and characters were very well done, detailed and believable. This take on the Succubi, or half Succubi in this case, which they call Lilituria was a wonderful and original one. Daiya is a great MC with her high school, newly turned 18yr old perspectives, that unsure adolescences, hormone driven time is a vulnerable one and made even more so by her birth given nature. I really enjoyed the friendship that developed between Daiya and Poppy, as well as the 100% authentic sister relationships. Also let’s just take a moment here to completely embrace the amazingness that are the names in this book. I mean come on, Daiya, Demi, Devlin, Carina, Poppy, Kai, Laker….freaking awesome names! Then there is Kai, whom she fights her feeling toward but ultimately gives in, because who wouldn’t, and the bod between them, whew *fans self* spicy! Overall this was a good read and I wouldn’t be surprised if I found my nose buried in book two’s pages.
I’m normally not a paranormal genre reader but love this author and wanted to read something different. I’m so glad I chose this! Daiya and her 2 sisters have just moved to Decker County. She is the youngest, a senior in high school, and a loner. She has just turned 18 so the girls are waiting for her demon to “wake up”. On Daiya’s first day of school, she meets him- Kai- the one she feels this instant connection to even though her kind don’t do connections.
This first book of the 3 book series is one I could not put down. Daiya fights her attraction to Kai because she doesn’t want to hurt him but finds she or he can’t stay away. Is it real, is it the prophecy, or is it her demon that’s causing the connection?
An interesting & for me, unique story, It’s quite gripping
The relationship between the three sisters Demi, Devlin & Daiya starts outs fairly harmonious but quite quickly seems to start to break down after their move to Decker County. The sister are essentially Orphans. They never knew their Dad due to the ways of their lineage. Their Mum had died a number of years before, when Daiya was around 13 years old. Demi had stepped into the role of Mum/Sister/Protector at 16 years old!!
Daiya, the youngest sister, meets & starts to fall for Kai. He’s the High School’s Star Hockey player. Daiya is the first girl he’s shown any real interest in as he’s been so focused on Hockey!! Kai’s Dad had been a wonderful father throughout most of his childhood. Before he & his Mum moved to Decker County when he was 13 years old his Dad had changed a lot. He’d pulled away from his Mum & him which had emotionally hurt them greatly!! Kai no longer even spoke to his Dad as he couldn’t forgive him for what he’d put his Mum through!!
The two 18yr olds are drawn together, a connection is there neither can really understand but it seems to physically effect them when they’re apart for too long!! Daiya seems to be different from her sisters & seeks helps to try & find out why…
A solid 3.5 star read. I’m off to read book two

Daiya is the new girl in town and struggling to find her way, as well as fight her destiny. Kai is the popular guy at school who finds himself with an unexplainable attraction to the new girl. It seems that fate has brought them together and a prophecy that Kai is unaware of and Daiya does not yet understand has intertwined their futures.
Will Kai be able to maintain his identity? Will Daiya be able to fight the forces growing within her and keep Kai safe from others and herself? Is the prophecy even real or is Daiya fighting a losing battle?
Grace White knocked it out of the park with this book. I have read a lot of paranormal romance books, but this was really a unique concept and well written story that left me wanting more! Her characters are well written and have a lot of depth . . . including the supportive cast of characters including Daiya’s sisters and Kai and Daiya’s friends from school. The plot kept me guessing as to how the story would progress and definitely left me on the edge of my seat wishing that book two was available now so that I could immediately continue this story.
5 stars and the hope that book two is available soon!
