Abigail
I was in big trouble. The biggest. Running out of time, I turned to him. Jacob Winters promised he’d solve all my problems. All I had to do was become his pet. With some men, that kind of deal might have been a nightmare. Jacob Winters was a dream come true.
I was raised to be a lady, not a man’s plaything. But with Jacob, I almost had it all; pleasure like I’d never known and protection … never known and protection from the danger stalking me. Was it greedy to want more? I had his body, but I wanted his heart.
I told myself it was just sex. We were providing each other a mutual service, nothing more. Right? I couldn’t possibly be foolish enough to fall in love with him.
Jacob
I must have been crazy. I’d wanted Abigail for years, I won’t deny it. But I don’t pursue married women, and her husband was a disaster waiting to happen. Everything about Abigail warned me to steer clear, including the lady herself. Some women might cheat, but not her. Abigail was too noble for her own good. Beautiful and untouchable. Then her husband was murdered and every dark shadow he’d held back came after Abigail at once.
She was on the run, and I was the only man who could save her. The best things come to men who wait, and I’d been waiting. Abigail was mine. I didn’t want a girlfriend. I definitely didn’t need a wife. I just wanted her. In my home. In my bed. I was going to own every inch of her elegantly curved body. I’d keep her for as long as I wanted her, and then we’d both walk away. What could possibly go wrong?
The Billionaire’s Pet is a standalone romance with a happy ending. It’s the third book in the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires series, and reveals more about the notorious men of the Winters family. You can read it on its own, everything you need to know from the first book is explained, but once you get a taste of the Winters men you’ll want to read the others ;}

Jacob and his Abigail…
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. At first I was a little bit cautious, especially with Jacob’s general attitude in the first few chapters, but things improved from there. His and Abigail’s relationship grew from strength to strength. They did frustrate me quite a lot during this book with their general inability to communicate their real feelings towards one another.
I loved getting to see more of the Winters family and how they interact with each other.
Let me start right off with this. There was falling in love at the wrong time. There was heartbreak. There was an attempt at running. There was intrigue, mystery, action. There was even some passion, romance, lusty inter-play.
Jacob Winters had a desire to possess one Abigail. But she was married. Then she wasn’t. Jacob saw that he could have the one thing he has wanted but could not. Now the tables have turned in his favor. He will be permitted to possess, her. With that possession comes a price.
Abigail found herself without her husband and with the hold he has over her. She then backs into a situation that she was/was not expecting to come about after her husband’s death. No matter the situation she runs. She runs to the one man she believes can help her. With all this going on she still worries about her mother. She loves her mother. The only person in the world she does love without condition, until. . .
I had myself a good read from start to finish. I want more from the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires series. I had some drama, action, suspense, and some curvy girl action. I would love to see more curvy girls taking center stage.
Excellent.. Ivy Layne is one of those “must read” authors. Consistently excellent and original writing.
I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first book of this nature I have read by this author and I have to admit I was not overly thrilled with the beginning of the book. Not because of the author’s writing, mind you, but the direction I thought the story was heading and I questioned if I could actually finish it. I could not have been more mistaken. Though I had to struggle a tad through the first few chapters due to the male character’s persona and actions, but once I became more absorbed with the story and understanding the reasoning behind comments and choices made, I was engrossed completely in reading and could not put it down. Mystery, suspense, action and romance balance out the story quite well. The characters are strongly written and the storyline well balanced and believable. The male character, in my mind, was irredeemable but after some family intervention and a long, hard look at himself he saw the error of his ways, realized what he truly wanted and did everything possible to fix his mistakes and make it right. The female character came from a long line of high-society and she herself was classy, determined, sweet; though slightly naïve. She found herself in an impossible situation, through innocent mistakes by her own hand, and did what she thought would be best at the time. Both thinking it would be a non-complicated, profitable arrangement neither expected to let their hearts get involved. However, the more time they spent together it was impossible for them not to develop true feelings for each other. And though it took an imminent threat to her life for them finally to sort out their misconceptions and misunderstandings, I was glad to see it work out the way it did. Overall I would definitely recommend this book.
