What a girl wants…
Miss Viola Darling always gets what she wants. Always. And what she wants more than anything is to marry James Kilbrenner, the Earl of Tannenbrook. She’s fallen hard for the giant, taciturn, surly brute, and she positively will have no other. The problem? He’s not interested. Not even a little. But Viola cannot afford to lose. And she has her heart set on James. If only he … he will bend to a bit of persuasion.
Is an earl like no other…
James Kilbrenner knows how determined the entirely-too-beautiful Miss Darling can be—the daft woman cornered him at a perfectly respectable dinner and mangled his cravat before he could escape. He has no desire to marry, less desire to be pursued, and will certainly not kiss her kissable lips until they are both breathless, no matter how tempted he may be.
And only the right one will do…
Thrown in her path by a meddling marchioness, James finds himself under sensual siege from a tiny, flirtatious sprite who puts both his heart and his vow to remain unwed at risk. And when scandal looms, he learns the hard way that a man can resist only so long before the indomitable Miss Darling gets her way.

Starring Miss Viola Darling and James Kilbrenner, the Earl of Tannenbrook. Unrequited love at its best.
Omigosh!! This is a straight up shot of romance that’ll warm your insides, y’all. Loooooooved this book!! I can not begin to tell you how much I loooooooove James and Viola…. like, a freaken heck of a lot!! I am ugly crying AF, and my heart is so haaaaappy!!
Viola was such a wonderful heroine!! She may have been outwardly beautiful, but it’s her heart that truly made her shine. I love that James is always describing her eyes as being full of start light…. le sigh!! I also love that she went after James like a freight train… full speed ahead!! Once she set her mind on marrying James, poor guy didn’t stand a chance!!
I love how James is described as a big hunky type of a Scottish man. Oh I am just picturing those strong shoulders… yummmmm!! He was such a perfect moody and broody hero. His resistance made me smile coz we all know the stubborn heroes fall the hardest. My goodness he was yummy. He is definitely going on my “All Time Fave Heroes” list!!
Together, James and Viola are absolute fire… so hot!! They had to work out a lot of hang ups that James was holding on to from his past. But together these two are magic and they get their beautiful HEA. James and Viola have also made my “All Time Fave Couples” list!!
This is book 5 in the Rescued from Ruin Series. Elisa Braden is officially on my “All Time Fave Authors” list. Fantastic job, as always, Elisa Braden.

An utterly delightful tale! Elisa’s prose is truly inspiring, and the book a truly original plot. I cannot wait to read more of her books!
Enjoyed this book more than I expected. Two determined people bent on completely different courses.
Very well written. Great characters, romantic, enjoyable.
Engaging and entertaining.
As I had read the previous books, I did not expect to be surprised but I was, nicely so.t
BAIT & SWITCH
I was definitely drawn to the premise: beautiful heroine who is the belle of London falls hard and fast for a noble spirited Earl who apparently is the first man who has ever ignored her. Well the chase is on. Sounds like a romantic comedy and for awhile it is. Her persistence begins to wear a little thin for the reader as the heroine’s motivation is that her gut, cutely referred to as “Inkling”, has never failed her; she is always right and once the Earl accepts that they will live happily ever after. But THEN there is a drastic switch in tone. The Earl continues to resist her. He is secretly attracted to her but he has his reasons. Time is running out (according to HER schedule) so she enacts a deception which persuades people he has behaved dishonorably. I was so disgusted with her, fictional though she is, I stopped reading the book for two days. I picked it up again to learn whether she was capable of remorse but no such luck. She just remains quiet until his anger fades which of course it does because she is so beautiful and the sex is fantastic. I am now reading a murder mystery to cheer myself up.
