Q&A with author John W. Mefford:
Q: Is AT Last (book 6) really the final Alex Troutt thriller?
JWM: Yes — but only temporarily. The Alex Troutt Thrillers comprise the first sub-series in the Redemption Thriller Series. Next up are the Ivy Nash Thrillers – all six novels will be published in 2017. I anticipate at least two more sub-series in the Redemption Thriller Series. Each sub-series stands on its own, but the main characters and underlying plot will ultimately connect by the time I publish all books in the Redemption Thriller Series. And yes, Alex will return in another six novels later in the series. It’s the most challenging and fulfilling creative endeavor I’ve undertaken. IN Defiance is the first novel of the Ivy Nash Thrillers and is available now.
Q: Are you sure AT Last isn’t the last of Alex? I mean, the tittle seems to suggest it’s the last one.
JWM: Trust me, it’s only the beginning. I focus on one set of characters for six novels, but subtly weave in the necessary plot elements to have each of the sub-series connect when I reach the final six thrillers in the Redemption Thriller Series. It’s been a blast to write.
Q: How are Alex Troutt and Ivy Nash connected?
JWM: If I told you, I’d have to kill you.:) But when you find out over the course of releasing each sub-series in the Redemption Thriller Series, it will make you shudder.
Q: Do I need to read all of the books in the correct order?
JWM: Not necessarily. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, as can each sub-series. But for the most fulfilling reading experience, I recommend reading them in the following order:
Books in the Alex Troutt Thrillers:
AT Bay
AT Large
AT Once
AT Dawn
AT Dusk
AT Last
Books in the Ivy Nash Thrillers:
IN Defiance
IN Pursuit
IN Doubt
Break IN
IN Control
IN The End
Q: When you finally finish all the books in the Redemption Thriller Series, are you just going to retire?
JWM: I’m just getting started. In the near future, I’ll be kicking off a co-authoring project with a friend of mine, and I have another mystery-thriller series in mind that I’m really excited about. I could see that series expanding into something much broader. Who knows what my mind will cook up….maybe it will end up being 24 novels as well.

A really interesting book that will hold your interest,I couldn’t wait to get back to this story.I would definitely recommend this book.
There was a good book in there somewhere but this was just too much. Between her father and murdered husband involved in drug smuggling the perfect younger lover and now mom. And she’s a mom who fortunately has a nanny that doesn’t have any life but to take care of them. Predictable story line. Sorry.
Too predictable
John W Mefford has done it again! At Large is even better than the previous book. It grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go. This is an exciting, intense romantic thriller that is full of twists and turns, with characters that come to life. A real page turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down until I’d read the last sentence.
AT Last is the final book in the Alex Troutt series and I for one am sorry to see it end, but what an ending it was.
This series was great and we really see Alex grow from strength to strength with each book and in this one she is really tested when she comes face to face with the person who killed her mother all those years ago. This book has more of a backstory about Alex and her childhood with her religious mother and her father. Based on limited information and the help of her team Alex begins to uncover more than she bargained for and this case comes with a few surprises along the way.
Without spoiling it, this was a fast paced read with some harrowing moments that will you have feeling every emotion that Alex is going through with this case.
A great end to a great series and I can’t recommend this enough – I have even got my Dad started on it and after book 1 he is totally hooked!
Can’t wait to see what John has in store for us next!
