Broken… an aggressive schedule, determined with everything she is to make a name for herself. There’s only one problem—she can’t run away from the demons she struggles with. Blake Turner. Sweet, witty, flirtatious and drop-dead gorgeous, he finds Evangelina at every turn. Scared he’ll uncover the truth she keeps so well guarded, Evangelina tries her best to put on her act, deterring him like she has so many times before—only this guy’s different. He’s relentless. Utterly, absolutely and completely relentless. He sees her and he wants her and won’t stop until she’s his.
Will Evangelina succeed in pushing Blake away? Or will he break down her walls and be the person to make her realize life is worth living?

“In the short time I’d known him, he had burrowed his way into my heart and shattered all my make-shift walls.”
Live Me is the heart-breaking tale of Evangalina, a young woman who flees home for college hoping to escape the nightmare she’s been living.
This poor girl is so weighed down with trouble, but she’s not willing, or able, to let anyone in, thinking she can get through it all on her own. Thinking she doesn’t deserve good in her life because of what has happened to her. This was so very frustrating to me, as she had a wonderful guy right there willing to help her with whatever she needed. There was so much push and pull on her part, I just wanted her to open herself up to Blake! He is so amazing and swoon-worthy, as much as my heart ached for Eva it ached equally for him.
Oh how the emotions tugged at me with this book. So many ups and downs, so much angst and turmoil. But there are some really beautiful moments as well, between Blake and Eva, and Eva and her best friend Jace. You can’t help but feel for Eva, and want her to find a way out of the darkness that has been enveloping her.
This may not be an easy read for some, as it does deal with a very heavy and hard subject matter. Celeste was very careful in her handling of it, she did a wonderful job presenting it in a truthful and heartfelt manner.
I’m so anxious for the conclusion to this story, Celeste needs to get on it ASAP!
My feelings are all over the place with this book. On the one hand I love the emotional turmoil and angst, the action and even the family drama and healing. I have to admit for a minute I was about done with all the back and for this child was doing, it was making me dizzy. I also understand there is a process every victim has to go through and tried to keep that in mind when I wanted to smack her for waffling again. (Yes I know violent thoughts with a book for shame). But that’s just it. The book had me going from one extreme reaction to another and that in itself is one of the reasons I continued to read. Yes the characters will make you crazy and you might even want him as your next book boyfriend, yes he is that kind of special. Mostly you will meet a woman broken by the past she doesn’t know how to let go of, even if it means she might loose that love she didn’t know she was ready for. It isn’t a standalone so don’t pick it up then write a bad review. There is a cliffhanger, a well played one if I may say so myself.
Not only is this the debut novel for this author it is also the first book of hers that I have read. I am amazed at the depth and honesty in the story. She has definitely joined the literary world with a bang. I look forward to reading a lot more of her work.
