One book. Two stories. A demigod and a half-demon are about to get married. Which means a week of festivities, romance, fun, and the kind of crazy drama wolf shifters are known for. When someone targets the Stavros pack, everyone bands together to fight an unknown enemy and two couples will fight for their chance at happily ever after. She’s not looking for a mate…Rhea is a warrior. She’s bled … bled and fought for the Stavros wolf pack for over a hundred years. She never expected to fall for the Alpha of a dragon clan. So, she convinces herself that they have something fun and easy, no strings attached. That’s the last thing he wants though. Conall, Alpha of the Petronilla clan, has been biding his time claiming his future mate. At fifteen hundred years old he’s patient, cunning. Except when he’s around Rhea, years of civilization are stripped away and all he wants to do is possess her, make her his forever. But something happened in the stubborn woman’s past and she’s determined to keep walls between them. It’s a good thing he’s a dragon. He’ll just burn down every last barrier between them and claim what’s his. A year ago Liberty had no idea that things that go bump in the night actually existed. But supernatural beings are real. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in her new reality. Saved from a Hell realm by a team of half-demons and a demigod, she finds herself falling for her sexy rescuer Rory more and more every day. She’s worried she’s too broken to ever have a relationship again. Half-wolf, half-demon Rory has been looking out for Liberty ever since rescuing her from hell. He’s not sure what it’s going to take to move from friend to more, but he’s willing to wait forever if that’s what it takes. Because Liberty is worth fighting for, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make the brave female survivor his.

Into The Darkness is the latest installment in Katie Reus’ Darkness series. In this book, we have two stories in one, which I really appreciate over separate novellas. I enjoyed the interweaving of the stories. Conall and Rhea, he is an alpha dragon shifter and while she is a much valued member of Finn Stavros’ wolf pack. She is one of their trackers and warriors. Rory is half wolf and half demon and Liberty, who is human. Rory was one of the rescuers when Liberty was imprisoned in the Hell Realm. He has been drawn to her from the very first time he saw her, being there for her while giving her the patience she required to start to heal.
This starts as Liberty is a party planner and working on an extravaganza of partying to celebrate the wedding of Nyx and Bo. It does not take long for the drama to start. When Finn’s pack is targeted and one of their own is kidnapped, they find that there is more to the reason behind it than first thought.
This picks up right where the last book Hunted by Darkness left off. It also sets the stage for the next one. Katie’s books have engrossing plot lines; have sexual chemistry, great characters you care about, and the ability to want to keep you up at night to see what is going to happen. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.
My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! I bought this book back in 2016, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I own this whole series and many other books by Katie Reus!
The cover is very conservative except for the tiny dragon icon in the title you wouldn’t know this was a paranormal book.
This is the 5th book in the series, and it is definitely for adults only due to the steamy content!
This was an outstanding story of Conall and Rhea getting together, but also Liberty and Rory. I read this months ago, but never got around to my review. Life gets in the way sometimes. I love this world and how the paranormals…well the good ones anyway…work together. I would love to live in this world. Katie Reus is a fabulous story teller. I always get lost in her stories and want to do nothing else. This was a fantastic read! Always something happening, and I never want to put the book down. I can’t wait for read more of this series!
I highly recommend to any paranormal romance fans because you can find everything in her books!! Loved it!!
Book 5 of the Darkness series. Four great characters and two love stories skillfully interwoven, a wedding, and a suspenseful new threat to the Darkness community. Read the first four books for maximum enjoyment of this one.
This had two stories in one, plus we got to see so much more of previous couples. I love getting glimpses into Victoria and Drake’s lives now that things have settled for them. Same for Finn and Lyra. Although Lyra does not make an appearance very much.
Bo and Nyx are celebrating their nuptials and you do get small appearances by them. What we really get to see is Rhea and Conall’s relationship, as well as Rory and Liberty. They are the main focus of book 5. Both couples could not be more different. Rhea, a warrior wolf shifter, Conall an Dragon shifter who is Alpha of his clan, Rory a wolf/demon shifter and Libert, a human.
I loved these couples and enjoyed this book but I have to admit that Arya is the one that stole the show for me. The mother dragon of Conall and Drake is bat crazy and awesome! What can I say, I’m drawn to the crazies.
5 Rip-Roaring Stars. I loved this story or should I say stories so much. Rhea and Conall finally get mated. I felt that heat since the 2nd book and wondered when they would get there happily ever after. Then we have Liberty and Rory. Rory is the perfect mate. Patient and willing to wait forever for his mate, Liberty to come around from her torturous past. Awww the #feels for that alpha male, made my heart melt. So very happy for their HEA!!! It looks like we have more in store in the Darkness series and I cannot wait. Reus, never disappoints, no matter which series she’s writing. I am waiting for Gabriel’s book, he totally deserves a HEA too. I have a sneaking suspicion it just might be the leader of The Stavros’s pack daughter. LOL. The problem that would cause. Loved it!!!!
This is a great book about a great series. I would definitely recommend it.
