‘A pacy thriller that starts off fast and doesn’t slow down until the end. Michael Violet is a flawed hero with a heart. Endearing and believable in equal measure’ – Colette McCormick, author of The Things I Should Have Said and Done ‘This book hits the ground running and doesn’t stop until the breathless final page’ – Roaring Bookworm ‘A fast paced thriller, full of breathless … fast paced thriller, full of breathless pursuits, a fascinating lead character and all the elements that keep you turning the pages until it’s over’ – Books and Me

On the surface, Michael Violet is a legitimate San Francisco car dealer. But appearances can be deceiving.
In reality, he’s a talented pickpocket, lifting the keys to the city’s most luxurious cars. He’s kept his criminal life secret from his journalist brother, Jon, who’s made a career out of exposing corruption. But when Jon is killed, Michael uses his talents to track down his brother’s killer.
Driven by guilt and revenge, Michael finds himself forced into the role of the hero, whether he likes it or not. But turning from thief to hero isn’t going to be easy…

Once I got started, it was difficult to put down. My housework suffered!
Predictable
Best page turner I have read in a long time. Only a few grammatical errors.
Very entertaining. I’m a sucker for books set in San Francisco. This one was a surprise. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was action packed for sure.
Looking forward to seeing what Michael Violet gets up to in the next book in the series.
Great read. Reality with a twist.
I particularly enjoyed the main character.
Very different characters from what I usually read. I picked it because it’s mostly based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I like to picture the location of the events. It kept me pretty riveted.
This one keep me turning the pages. The plot was more original than most and keep me wondering what was next. It did bog down in places but not enough to give up on the book. I will read the next one to find out what Michael Violet does next!
The book started quite slowly but when it got going it was very good.
Finished this book in record time. Great story!
Good read
I could not put this book down. Loved the depth of the characters. Worth every penny.
Good read!
Interesting twists and turns in the plot. Raised many questions about characters that were never fully developed which was disappointing. Overall good read for a snowy day.
Very well written … hold my interest right to the end
Recommend this book if you enjoy an unpredictable and entertaining story of intrique, losses and his courage to find answers. A great read!
Great book! Look forward to my next read of this author.
Jon and Michael Violet are two estranged brothers, estranged because Jon, an investigative journalist renown for uncovering crimes and bringing criminals to justice, finds out that Michael is not a high end car salesman but is instead, a pickpocket and car thief. When Jon is murdered, Michael finds himself involved in the search for Jon’s killers and inadvertently, has to help uncover the crime that Michael was investigating. The story moves very quickly, with some very dangerous moments for Michael and Jon’s associates. Once readers get into “Black Violet”, they will not be able to put it down and may end up reading it well into the night.
