Nine months ago, Rowan Ward thought he had it all. Now he’s fighting to pull his shredded life together, buried in work and battling the kind of grief that destroys a man’s soul. When fires spring up around Cincinnati threatening Rowe’s friends and clients, he’s thrilled to find his old Army buddy, Noah Keegan in town. They were a hell of a team when they served together, so in-sync, it was … rumored they could read each other’s minds.
Noah thought devoting his life to the Army would be enough. Then he realized he had no family and only one friend he cared about. When his enlistment was up, he found himself standing on Rowe’s doorstep, looking only for friendship but secretly hoping for more. He needs to know if their one unbelievable night together years ago wasn’t a mistake.
Caught in a dangerous game of fire and bullets, neither expects the inferno of emotion that ignites between them. One Rowe isn’t prepared to accept. One that could break Noah.

Love, love, love this book and this series. My favorite couple of the Unbreakable Bonds series, Rowe and Noah, made me cry and laugh and cry and laugh some more on their way back to each other. The only thing better than this book is getting to visit with them again and again in the Ward Securities series.
I truly am enjoying this entire series…I love how these four men have built such a solid foundation of friendship, loyalty and love.
This is Rowan and Noah’s story. I’m not much for over the top angst and while Rowe’s story had more than I like with respect to the relationship, as I reflected on it, it wasn’t at all unrealistic.
Rowe has always been the one who traveled a different path than his ‘brothers’, but with tendencies and curiosities that he never hid, especially from those he loves and trusts. Tragedy has changed his life, does he stay stuck in the past or does he find a way to let go and be happy. You can’t help but feel his heartbreak and his struggle. Is Noah strong enough to endure the journey?
The danger is not over, but with each installment, one more piece of the puzzle falls into place to reveal the true enemy and with one more full length novel left in this series I’m anticipating a stunning conclusion.
Torch: Unbreakable Bonds Series Book 3 starts with an unhappy Geoffrey Ralse who sees Dr. Ashton “Snow” Frost happily paired with Jude Torres during a get-together at Lucas’s club called The Warehouse. All goes to hell because a fire deliberately set to cause maximum mayhem. Andrei, who was offering encouragement to Geoffrey earlier, barely escapes with his life–scaring Lucas into a heart-felt confession of love and a lifelong commitment to Andrei. Rowe settles into a more normal schedule after about nine months of drifting around following his wife’s death, though Andrei had been filling in for him beautifully. Rowe offers Andrei the position of chief operating officer, which will leave him free to have a more stable work schedule and time to spend with Lucas. It is rumored that Boris Jagger, the man who ‘owned’ Ian Pierce some many years ago is gunning for the Unbreakable Bonds crew, but why? Rowe’s old army buddy (Noah Keegan), a guy with whom he had a bisexual awakening with way back in the past, shows up needing a place to belong, a place to call home. And just in time to help with the shitshow that’s going on. The writers are especially clever in getting Noah well established in Rowe’s life and well-accepted into the circle of found family which includes Lucas, Snow, and their partners. Noah is homosexual and had been carrying a torch for Rowe for years. He pulled away when Rowe met and fell in love with his wife. He seeks out Rowe with hopes that the relationship can be much more than just friendship. Grounding Rowe after he had been adrift for months after his wife’s death, Noah proves his psychoemotional worth. His positive effect on Rowe results in his integration with the group and his knowledge, skills, and training are a beautiful complement to the Ward Security team. The story is well-balanced with impeccable pacing of events in the narrative, which keeps it interesting and always moving forward. In addition, the character development is astounding both during the novels and throughout the entire series. As intense as it gets, it’s good to revisit this series.
I love this series, but I especially love Rowe and Noah!
Went into this book just hoping who Rowe found would be great for him, and he got it all! Noah is great and great for Rowe and the whole gang! I love this series, it is one of the best I have read, and I am so invested in each of these four friends, that I cannot stop reading. I want to read even all the shorts, but have not done so yet. The mystery/crime happening is just as it was in the previous books, with what it appears that someone is after them, and they finally find out the who and why, so that sets up Ian’s book perfectly. I am the most looking forward to his book. Kenneth Obi did the audio and he did a fantastic job!
Torch is the third book in the Unbreakable Bonds Series by Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliot. This series is amazing – emotional, suspenseful, captivating… these men have a strong bond that helps them overcome so much and to find so much in life. I fall into these books and lose myself in the stories… feel for these characters and wanting all their stories told.
Noah and Rowan are amazing…. friends to lovers, a second chance at romance. Their connection is sweet, sexy and feels real. I love them and their story did not disappoint. This book had me smile, laughter and want to hug these men. I cant wait for next story.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Wow! Each of these books just get better. I do suggest you read in order since you need to know who the major players are and what has been going on.
This book is about Rowe, the head of Ward security and the friend of Lucas, Snow and Andre. In the last book there was some tragedy and surprises leaving Rowe sad and broken. At a celebration of the opening of the Warehouse with Lucas, Snow, Ian and his friends there is a fire burning it down. This sets of the story with a series of fires putting all his friends back in danger and trying to figure out who is behind it and why. Getting home he finds an old friend from his past that brings up feelings long hidden.
I loved Noah but would have loved to have known more about him. I absolutely loved seeing this side of Rowe. I find seeing a softer side and this hidden secret really made him so deep.
There is a touch of wit in the story with banter between all the friends, you can feel the love and comradery as we watch relationships build. There are some twists and this one sort of ends in sort of cliffhanger or a lead-in to the next book. I can’t wait!
As usual I loved Kenneth Obi’s narration. He always gives his characters life and more depth. He puts the right type of excitement at the right places, sighs, grunts, etc.
If you like suspense, hot men and an allover intriguing book, get this!
Seeing Rowe’s journey was a wonderful. Your heart broke for him throughout this series so to see him grapple with his loss and fight tooth and nail to find his happiness again with Noah was lovely. Another stellar addition to what is one of my favorite series!
I love second-chance love story and this one is full of hot, steamy passion and needs, and although Rowan is in constant struggle about his feelings, which can be annoying at times, the story is still pretty damn good!
Hot! Hot! Hot!
