People make love seem complicated. Intricate. Novels try to capture its intensity; music tries to rein in its soul.I’ve read every novel I could. I’ve lived and breathed every song that I could listen to. The sounds fill my unquiet mind. Then he came.Killian.He brought with him the beauty of silence that echoes through my soul and showed me love isn’t complicated. It’s simple. Beautiful. Some say … Beautiful.
Some say love at first sight doesn’t exist, that you can’t find your soul mate at sixteen years old. Those are people rooted in reality, chained to the confines of life that dictates how you are meant to think. Killian broke those chains. He broke everything, shattered it so I can see that reality is overrated, that daydreams can somehow come to life.
My life tumbled into darkness in the time after I met him, so dark I’m not sure I’ll ever see the light again. But he is always at my side. His life means he knows how to navigate the dark and he can lead me out.
I wade through the darkness with him at my side.
We’ll be together forever; I’m certain of that.
Until I’m not.
Note: This is book one of two. Killian and Lexie’s story does not end here and will be continued in a following book.

OMG, OMG, OMG!!! Killian and Lexi, Lexi and Killian, young and all consuming love… What a ride, you will cry, you will smile and laugh, and yes the ending will rip your heart out.
Killian and Lexi first meet at the mechanic shop that the MC club own, after Mia’s (Lexi’s mum) car breaks down, where Killian and Zane a MC member work. Right away Lexi has this instant connection to Killian. The more Kill and Lex hang out and get to know each other the stronger the bond between them grows. During the time they are learning about each other Killian is working toward the only goal he has ever had to become a member of the MC he loved and the one his father loved before he passed away. But with Lexie being apart of his life Killian found a new happiness he never knew was possible. Meanwhile Lexi makes friends with Sam, Wyatt and Noah and they form a band that becomes an outlet for Lexi. As the band grows more popular there was always Kill and Lexi. But when the hard work finally pays off and they both have their dreams, Kill makes a decision that will destroy the Lillian bond, that will allow Lexi to do what her soul needs and that’s to sing.
Killian was what dreams are made of, he is sweet, caring, protective and loving. He is so in awe with Lexi and everything he did and said to Lexi was for her best interest. I love, love, LOVE him even after what he did at the dock, because I know he did it for what was best for Lexi and that is all he has ever wanted. Lexi is it for him, she is all he wants or needs. Lexie is funny sarcastic, sweet and kind and just what Killian needs, she’s his light when the world has shown him hardship and pain.
I can’t wait to read book 2 ‘Skeletons of us’, my fingers will be crossed that Lexi is able to forgive Kill. As he was only looking out for her. They both deserve to be happy and that is with each other.
Jesus bloody Christ this book was amazing.
Killian. Omfg. Killian. Ruined me. A fictional 17 year old character ruined me. I want him. And I feel dirty knowing I do!
Lexie and Killian are both older and wiser than their years, Souls mates…2 half’s of a whole.
I’m actually having trouble stringing a sentence together but this is what this book has done to me!
And then the ending. Waaaaah I was actually angry at the injustice of it all. Yes it is not a happy ending but one that will (hopefully) get rectified in book 2! Which I hope is soon!
My advice…read….take in all the wordy goodness of this book, cause it is that good. It’s not just good, it’s indescribable!
I honestly, literally do not even know where begin. What words could completely do justice to describe how absolutely soul-crushing and earth shattering this book was. There are none. Absolutely nothing. If I lived to be a hundred years old studying the dictionary, I still wouldn’t be able to put together a sentence.
This is my second book by Anne Malcom. And I’m cursing myself for it. This book tore me apart. It destroyed me. I thought I knew what angst was. Boy, no way. I literally have tears running down my eyes and every part of my body aches with need & with empathy towards this book.
To be honest, I’ve avoided reading this book til the last minute because I knew, I just knew it was gonna be a book that will hurt me so good. This book started a bit slow for me, it dragged at some points but looking back, I felt it was necessary. It was necessary to understand particular situations so that we could understand the end.
Killian and Lexie have wrecked me. I don’t know what else to say because I feel like I’m just rambling now. But that ending. My heart is hurting. My emotions are everywhere. So many things happening at once and I couldn’t believe it ended like that. In hindsight, I kinda had a feeling that it would end like that but I didn’t expect it to hurt so bad. I feel like nothing else in the world matters to me anymore. My entire life revolves around Kill and Lexie and finding out what happens in their story.
Damn. The execution of the story was spectacular. The words were on point and the characters felt sooo real to me. I read this in one sitting and I wasn’t expecting to. But I was just sooo consumed with this book, I couldn’t put it down.
Praise to Anne Malcom for writing a book that imprints itself well within your soul! Definitely a must read!
I swear every time I finish an Anne Malcolm book I fall more in love with her words, you know that when you start one of her novels you know you are going to get a full novel of beautiful words.
As we had already met Killian and Lexie in a previous book I wasn’t sure where this story was going to go but when I realised that we were basically getting Lexies story along side a novel in the Son’s Of Templer novel and this was exciting because then you could get everyones story and point of view.
I loved how intense Killan and Lexie were without being too much or full on and it wasn’t all about sex and I loved that, this was a story of young love and how they grow together and really show us what true love was.
I loved Killian he was very protective but that’s what you get when a boy is turning into a man and all he wants is to be a member of the SOT, he was such a beautiful soul for the hand that he had been dealt with a father that died to earlier and his mum who was never really a mum.
Lexie was such an amazing soul, I loved her and her mums banter and loved that they were best friends and had the best relationship that Have read for a mother and daughter, even though Lexie didn’t have a dad I loved how she was happy and nothing terrible had happened to her, this story certainly changed that and you really saw her grow especially with her music. I loved her and Bulls relationship that was also so special.
I loved the music aspect of this novel and has introduced me some new music which is amazing as I love music just as much as reading. I really loved Lexies band members they were the sweetest boys and they were so funny I have a special spot for them and can’t wait to read more about that.
As you can tell I absolutely loved this story and the fact we get more Killian and Lexie I am excited but sad at the same, even though I had a feeling how this book would end it still broke my heart and I can’t wait to get into the next story.
Loved loved this story and super excited for more.
I absolutely loved this story. Firstly I have to say I love that Band name. Unquiet Mind is such a unique name and I will admit I can’t stop thinking about it.
Echoes of Silence was a gripping tale that had me hooked from beginning to end. The main characters Killian and Lexie were well-developed and we were taken on a journey with them watching their romance blossom from friends into something more. The extended characters brought support and balance to the story and you will love them all.
The story was well-written and gave us a bit of everything from romance, friendship, family, teenage drama, action and even heartbreak.
The ending just broke my heart.Yes it was a cliff-hanger and I can’t wait to start the next book. This YA novel was a slow burn romance and a fantastic read. I loved it and would highly recommend it.
5 BEAUTIFULLY FELT STARS!! OMG….Killian and Lexie’s story reached in and touched my heart in so many ways. I am so invested in their story it feels real to me, like I know them. Anne Malcom’s words are gold, they a shiny and beautiful, I can’t get enough of her words. I can’t wait to read Skeletons of Us the second book.
Lexie and Killian I love you!! This book was everything I expected and more. I cannot wait to see how their story unfolds!!
We met these characters in Out of Ashes and I couldn’t wait for more of them. I snapped up this book as soon as I realised it was out. Lexie and Killian share the kind of love story that people dream about. Theirs is a story that makes you believe in love. Beautiful dialogue, real character growth and a genuinely sweet story about characters you will grow to genuinely care about.
