An Instant New York Times Bestseller Roma Downey—best known as the beloved angel on the TV show Touched by an Angel—has created a beautiful book filled with encouragement and hope, assuring us of God’s comforting presence in our lives.Ever since she was a little girl, Roma has seen butterflies as a reminder of God’s presence. They have appeared to her in moments when she needed encouragement and … when she needed encouragement and reminded her she is not alone. In this deeply personal book, Roma shares stories from her life, alongside quotes, poems, scripture, and artwork that she prays will uplift you as they have her. Each grace-filled chapter of this beautiful full-color book covers topics such as courage, strength, gratitude, love, and kindness.
Reminiscent of the message of her popular television series, Touched by an Angel, this book’s central theme is that there is a God, He loves you, and that even in your most difficult moments, He is by your side. That though you may feel alone, you are never truly alone. The subtle butterfly theme reminds us that the wonder of God’s love and kindness is sometimes reflected in the gentle whispers of his creation and that we all have the power to transform from simple caterpillars into exquisite butterflies.
Written in a way that encourages you to “dip in and out” of its flowing content, this inspiring book invites you to return to its pages again and again, as life brings new challenges or you find yourself in need of new inspiration.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.
Box of Butterflies by Roma Downey is a wonderful new book and it is BEAUTIFUL! Roma is inspired by butterflies and sometimes the sighting of a butterfly may possibly signal a special blessing for her.
The presentation of the graphics, the poems, the song lyrics, and Roma Downey’s stories from her life are heartwarming. I will be purchasing several of this inspirational book for my sisters. I loved the stories she shared from her own life and the stories of her friendships with Della Reese and Maya Angelou. Each page is so thoughtfully composed with imagery and beautiful words. The experiences Roma shares with her readers regarding the many times she has reached out in prayer for guidance from God is very encouraging. One example of Roma visiting a hospital during Christmas holidays and seeing a family in grief, left me with sweet chills.
If you are a person of faith, I urge you to share a gift of this sweetly written book with someone who may need a touch of love.
Faith, inspirational, and uplifting.
I was lucky enough to be included on the Launch Team for Ms. Roma Downey’s book, Box of Butterflies, due for release March of 2018 and grateful for the experience. I’d like to thank Roma, Daniel and the entire team for this opportunity.
*****
Ms. Downey’s vision, spirituality, Faith and love of the butterfly run deep through the pages of this book, however, not so deep that someone not having the same feelings and/or beliefs could not relate to, understand or feel they couldn’t benefit from. Roma’s faith in life, love and her relationships intertwine like a thread, embracing every word on every page, whether describing a time in her life where sadness and tragedy grabbed ahold or happiness and joy stood strong.
Roma’s tribute to her relationship with Ms. Della Reese is nothing short of inspiring, emotional and a true testament of the love they shared for one another, together in friendship.
A quote, one of many used throughout the book, by Erma Bombeck, “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I could not have a single bit of talent left and could say I used everything you gave me” I feel this particularly stood out and resonated deeply by how and where it was used within Roma’s story.
The illustrations used within the pages add a realm of calmness and serenity to the story and reader, not distracting from it. They are very well executed as a “soft offering” to the pages of text and appealing to the eye.
I feel Roma’s personal words, “Real beauty is of the heart; it’s the glow that lights your face when you are doing something kind, it’s the tears you cry in appreciation of someone else’s pain”. “Real beauty is kindness, gratitude, love”….. will have a genuine effect on the reader, as it did me. Roma’s book is full of these inspiring anecdotes that she not only shares unselfishly with the reader but ones that will also keep you interested and emotionally invested.
She has delivered a story of life, her life, to include scripture, poems, and quotes which are sure to inspire. It is a book that is as beautiful visually as it is emotionally….. and she has managed to bless us with her encouragement and enthusiasm to keep moving forward within our own lives.
