One of the best RR series from a new author!
What a trip through the lives of these characters. The steadfast and wholehearted love between them makes you feel like no matter how flawed, one can still be worthy of love. Even if they don’t deserve it. She’s an angel and a saint for putting up with it all, yet, she fell for the temptation more than he did.
Funny how betrayal is so much worse when Love is involved.
Let’s see how this turns out….I’m rather invested in these characters now.
What exceptional writing and story telling with such a realistic plot. It’s easy to get wrapped up in it. Well done Lara Ward Cosio…looking forward to reading more from this author!
I read this series and have to say I really enjoyed this book. It covered a long period of time, which I enjoy, and gave the characters a back story. If you are into rock star romances, each book in this series covers a different member of the band. They are each unique, which I appreciate, and each have their own voices. But what is nice is you continue to hear about the previous romances.
I don’t even know where to start for leaving my review, it was an amazing book and it was hard to stop listing to it when I had school work to do. I just got this book yesterday and I’m already done it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time!
The narration was impeccable and the narrator fit the bill so perfectly for this project. I could picture everything in my mind and I could feel the emotions coming from the narrator.
The characters are amazing and sometimes very funny… They feel as if they would be the perfect bunch to hang out with in real life!
The book overall was amazing and I enjoyed every bit of it! It’s hard to definitely not leave any spoilers for others who have not read/listened the book yet… I’m looking forward to starting book # 2 called playing at Love

Tangled Up In You
Rogue Rockstar series, Book 1
By: Lara Ward Cosio
Narrated by: Lee Brophy
I am a huge fan of rockstar romance and I very much enjoyed this one. This is my first book by Lara Ward Cosio, she is detail orientated and has a unique writing style. This story is told in three point of views, it switches from the dialogue between characters to a third POV which is the telling of their story or a run down of events which kind of reminded me of a docudrama or documentary, which can take the intimacy out of any story. Thankfully that does not happen here there are plenty of intimate and emotional moments in this story. The characters are complex and well developed. I really liked Sophie, Gavin and Conor, how they met as teenagers and then again as young adults. They shared a great bond, as well as chemistry. Gavin was all sorts messed up, events in his childhood left him secured and broken. He is emotionally driven and both Sophie and Conor, his best friend and bandmate were good for him, they were his rocks. Shay and Martin, their bandmates and friends from school are part of their story as well. I liked the camaraderie amongst them. There is a lot of drama in Sophie, Gavin and Conor’s story, lines get crossed, hearts are broken and friendships are tested. This is not your typical rock star romance it is so much more, the storylines are interesting and deep, they captivated my mind from start to end. Emotions run high at times and deep, a lot of heart was put into their story. I am looking forward to the next book. Thank you for this great story and emotional roller coaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Lee Brophy did a great job narrating the story and performing the voices of all the characters, he gave them their own voices and personality, as well as heart and attitude. He was terrific with the accents and switched character roles flawlessly. Thank you for this great listen

This book is quite dark a lot of the time. Sophie and Gavin’s story is almost self-destructive to a point where the reader is smiling at them one minute, and yelling at them the next. When it finally spirals out of control, it’s unclear if they will ever get their connection back on track.
This book does not end their story, it continues on in the next book, but I need to take a breather from this story – as it is a bit drawn out and at times, emotionally draining. Reviewed by Cyrene
Ugh this book gutted me . Gavin and Sophie are raw characters. Yes this is a rock star love story , however it’s not your normal book. This author shows you sides of these characters that rip you apart and then slowly puts you back together , all to gut you again. Colin, Gavin, and Sophie along with all the other characters are real and have suffered . I loved this book it gave me more feels than almost any other book I’ve read.
I’m not sure what I expected when I began reading this book, but it was far beyond anything I could have imagined. I’ve read a few rock band series’, and few of them live up to the hype. This one was recommended to me, and I was blindsided by how much I liked it.
Gavin is the perfect moody front man, the singer in the band. He’s sexy and handsome but not in a conventional way. And when he opens his mouth, people are drawn to him, not only when he sings but when he is in any kind of crowd. And this is the man Sophie meets as a boy of 16 when she does a year of high school overseas in Ireland. He’s cocky and bold, and he holds his own. But like many young loves, life gets in the way, and they’re separated.
Fast forward a few years, and Gavin and his best friend Connor, along with their friends Shay and Martin have formed a bad, Rogue, that is sweeping the world. When they just happen to be playing in L.A., Sophie stops in. Hearts were broken, and the rejection is still fresh for both of them, but there’s something that draws them together, and they find out that their love has only become more intense. What neither of them suspected was that there was someone else who crushed on her too. Secrets are uncovered and love is betrayed. Will they make it through the muck and mire that is their pasts and their present, to find any kind of future together?
There were moments that had me giggling while others had me talking back to the characters. I cried and got angry and ran the gamut of emotions with this story. I only finished it an hour or so ago, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything my heart experienced. I love when an author can bring out all of the feelings I don’t really want to feel, and this author did exactly that. The only annoying thing was that we don’t get an HEA as is the case in many series’. So, I bought the entire series because I need to know…
I love a book that seems to be outside of the norm. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
When I started reading this book I had trouble getting into it at first but overall I enjoyed reading it. I felt really bad for everything that had to go through and I felt I am the type of reader that feels emotions when reading. This book definitely made me feel alot of different emotions both good and bad. I am definitely going to be buying the second book because I would like to know what happens next for Gavin and Sophie.
Gavin & Sophie’s story has taken me through many different emotions, Keeping me from putting the book down looking for resolution to the issues they’ve gone through. The characters are extremely lovable and the story is very engaging. Now, on to book 2. My heart can’t take not reading on…..
