Dark, Dangerous, Magical Men Who Live to Annihilate Evil
Joshua committed his life to fighting Black Magick. Not sure who he hates worse, dark sorcerers or the clerics who tortured and mutilated his family, he lives on the road with his horse and his magic, working as a Coven enforcer. Breana Giraud is the only woman he’s ever loved, and until very recently she was married to someone else.
… married to someone else.
Breana’s husband, Don, sold his soul to the devil, embracing dark practices. Along the way, he corrupted their daughter. While Breana could’ve turned him in to Coven justice without a second thought, she couldn’t bring herself to implicate her child. Still reeling from her daughter’s death at the hands of evil, and grateful her husband met the vicious end he deserved, she feels broken, damaged. The last thing on her mind is falling in love.
Joshua tries to hold back, give Breana room to mourn her losses, but if he has his way, she’ll become his wife. With Don dead, and the path to his heart’s true love finally clear, he’ll do anything he can to make her his. Even if it means fighting his way past the dark mages’ leader, who wants her for his own.

For those that like the Steam Punk Era and Magick, this series is an excellent read. Blood and Sorcery is the 2nd story in The Coven Enforcers Series by Ann Gimpel. I hadn’t heard about this author but was given a copy of this series and I have not put these books down since.
Breana and Joshua’s story of lust and wanting from afar definitely added to this amazing series. Breana is still dealing with her late husbands betrayal and the death of her only child while Joshua is trying to figure out how he is going to keep everyone alive while waiting for the Coven to arrive to deliver verdict for her part in wheeling Black Magick and Demonspeak and keep his feelings to himself.
Breana is targeted by the Dark Angel to be his Queen and she almost succumbs for it not been Hester and her magic infused gems to help bring Breana back from Andras’ dark hold on her.
Through trials and triumphs, Breana and Joshua’s end up helping to piece back together Breana’s trust and heart for her to see that Joshua’s feelings are true. Joshua finally gets the woman he had loved for 150 years and helps destroy the Dark Angel once and for all.
In Book 2 of the Coven Enforcers, the story continues with Breana and Joshua. Breana lost her husband and child in Book 1 to dark magic. Joshua was one of the enforcers Luke called upon for help to survive the dark forces. Joshua has loved Breana since he first laid eyes on her years ago, but she was already married. A pure love like Joshua’s cannot be easily dismissed. However, all of the evil Breana has been subjected to by her late husband and the demons he was associated with has left her feeling dirty and not worth being forgiven. On top of that the Dark Angel has set his sights on Breana and won’t stop until he gets her. Joshua and the enforcers must defeat this new evil and his minions to save Breana. During this time, the Coven is relocating to Utah by wagon train. I love how these big, strong, brave men jump into the middle of the fight against evil and use the witches powers together with theirs to survive. We also meet Hester, a really old witch and Abigail’s grandmother. She is a breath of fresh air and brings a bit of humor to the whole situation. She has also had previous dealings with the Dark Angel and is a major player in this skirmish. Each of these books can be read as a stand-alone with a HEA ending, but they are also tied into one another. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Finally mine…Joshua & Breana’s story is action-packed as usual with this series. Author writes a very in-depth novel full of magic, sorcery and the never ending battle of good vs evil. Breana is skittish but now that she is no longer married, Joshua is determined to finally have the woman he has wanted for so long. He’s not the only one who wants her though. Enjoyed their story & love Hester character & her stones concept.
