Grav N’gol is many things. Murderer…ex-con…Alien half-breed…
And a Protector.
More than just a bodyguard, a Protector chooses a female to ward for life and swears an oath to die for her if necessary.
Enter Leah Roth. The luscious little Earth female is supposed to be just a quick surveillance gig for Grav. He’ll check on her and report back that she’s okay—it should be easy.
Only she’s not … easy.
Only she’s not okay.
When Grav sees Leah’s abusive husband hurting her, he swings into action. Before he knows it, he has Leah aboard his ship. When he’s given a dangerous and difficult mission, Leah volunteers to come alone and help…and somehow Grav can’t say no.
But as much as he feels drawn to the lovely little human, Grav knows it can never be between them. For in his past lurks a bloody and savage secret that would turn even the most forgiving heart against him.
From his past and from his true nature Leah must be…Protected at all costs.

4.5 stars. There is a ton of action and adventure along with some spicy moments. I liked Leah’s transformation from broken to a strong woman. She’s smart, sweet and so loving to everyone around her. Grav is a wonderful hero; loyal, gentle, caring and fiercely protective. The story has some wonderful humor and some seriously sweet ones. There was a bit too much push and pull between the H/h for my personal taste but they end up just as they should, so the conclusion left me satisfied.
I have become slightly addicted to this series. Big alien with a protective streak – tick. Unsuspecting heroine taken from a harsh relationship – tick. Both believe that they are not worthy of the HEA we all want. So yes there are some similarities but I enjoy the imagination of the different worlds. The stories are action packed and entertaining. The alien life forms and planets described, make my own sci-fi geek smile.
Wow! Normally, I would rate this lovely sci fi romance 4 stars overall. But what this author did to a certain presidential candidate had me falling out of bed cracking up. I was even sharing with random people I live and work with on the race track, which pretty much made them think I am nuts. But any book that does that to me deserves 5 stars, no matter what reason I loved reading it.
Loved it. Great read. I would definitely recommend it.
This second book in the Alien Mate Index is just as great as the first book. Having met the big blue guy in the first book you knew it was going to be an interesting ride when he got off on his own. The characters continue to be fun and interesting as they take you along on their various missions. The story while centering around a couple still manages to give you more than just their drama by incorporating various subplots that keeps things from getting stale. The language is perfect because you know they cannot be speaking English all the time but the phrases are so right that you really don’t care. The main thing is that the backgrounds of the characters and that of each new race that is introduced gives you more depth and insight into what and who they all are.
Gravex N’gol is a murderer and escaped convict but he also a protector of females who would give his life to protect theirs. When he is given the task of going to Earth and making sure that Zoe’s friends are alright and to give them a message from her, he is more than happy to do it. While checking on them he becomes enamored with Leah, who is living in a bad situation but embodies everything Grav finds attractive. When he sees her being abused it is more than he can stand so he goes to her rescue and so starts an adventure he had not planned on.
Leah lost her friend Zoe under mysterious circumstances that had her and Charlotte using every avenue possible to find her. When they found nothing she lost her friend Charlotte as well when she moved away to grieve her loss alone. Leah marries her boyfriend who promptly moves her away from her family where he can do what he wishes without interference. When he goes to far one night Leah is surprised to be rescued by a stranger who just appears in her home. This stranger delivers news that her friend is alive and well, he is also willing to take her to her. She leaves because it is the best course though she cannot see what will happen as she travels so far from home.
I love Evangeline Anderson and the imagination that can deliver such great aliens and worlds so strange you cannot help but be pulled into them. This has everything you could hope for when traveling the galaxy, evil computer programs bent on domination, alien females with murder on their minds, palace intrigue, and much more. I totally recommend this to anyone who loves sexy aliens who can stoke a fire like nobody else. I would love my own if it were possible.
This is an irresistible and exciting story and characters that will grab you from the beginning and hold you to the end. There was nothing in this book that I didn’t love. This book is loaded with humor and is a great follow up to Abducted. Grav and Leah are perfect together but they have to get over loads of personal issues before they even get there. The concept of how Leah’s powers work is something that I’ve only heard of in a song, think Sexual Healing or Starving by Hailee Steinfeld or even Downtown by SWV, but he’s holding back most of the time and she struggles to get him to give her what she needs. Grav is hung up on his past and his need to protect women is almost pathological. The Count is like a cockroach, you can’t kill him it seems, and the new body he inhabits, lol, dude, I laughed so much. The Black Widow was like my greatest imagined fear come to life and yet, I couldn’t stop reading it, skeeving out, then reading more. This book is impossible to put down and is full of so much that you just can’t stop reading, like an addiction and I’m an addict. I have to continue with Descended today because I’m worried about Charlotte. You need to read this series! It’s like a movie playing in my head and I just want to keep watching!
I was definitely looking forward to reading this book. Garv had left me very intrigued in the previous AMI book. He seemed so dark, mysterious, sexy and everything you expect in a bad boy. But he didn’t seem to be that aggressive like I imaging for someone that was feared by all, he was very soft and gentle. Well that’s until you mess with one of his ward he could be very scary. There are also lots of conflicts, and the emotional constipation centered around Grav’s insecurities I was expecting all that from Leah not Grav it kinda took away the bad boy fantasy I had going on in my head. Although I enjoyed this book, it was hard for me to, initially, get into it. Leah submissive personality was not to my liking at all I wanted her to be more feisty. Either way I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next in the series.
