Jeanne allows two broken souls to mend and find love. They follow their own passions and their hearts. Bravo.
Bridge to Us, by Jeanne Felfe, is the story of betrayal, loss and a second chance at love. Fans of romance novels will love this entertaining, quick-paced, character-driven book.
It will have you crying and cheering
Jeanne hooks you at the very beginning with very likable characters and a great balance of elegant prose and high stakes. When the characters endure loss and betrayal, you are right with them through their struggles, rooting them on with a nice twist at the end. A great story about second chances. I really enjoyed it.
The Art of Healing was a story that grew on me. It felt a little sticky and slow at the beginning and I’ll admit I wasn’t sure about it but I then found myself drawn into the relationship that eventually developed between Julianne and Jokob. And that’s what I enjoyed because both of these characters had been through a rough time, Jokob particularly (I actually thought Julianne had a lucky escape!) But it was the fact that the romance grew steadily, and dare I say it, normally. The first date, for example, just as it should be, a getting to know you exercise.
I thought the ongoing struggle for Jokob, and the inclusion of Keara to the tale was particularly well handled and the ending was terrific. I thought it was going to go one way with the possibility of Julianne losing herself again (although I don’t think Jokob would let that happen) but it didn’t and it was all the better for it. Good job!
This book has been on my to-read list for a long time and I finally picked it up to take on vacation. I’m so glad I did! This is a really sweet story of love after grief. Julianne and Jokob come at a new relationship with a mismatched set of baggage, but it’s a pleasure to watch as the promise of a new beginning unfolds against a backdrop filled with St. Louis charm.
3 1/2 out of 5 stars
Julienne is a newly divorced nurse who feels comfortable in her safe space with her routine. Jokob is a photographer who captures everything from sunrises and sunsets to people and communities.
The first time they met, when Jokob was explaining a photo to Julienne, this quote literally gave me goosebumps as I read it. Somehow this author was able to get to my emotions be describing this photo that I can totally see in my head and this gentlemen who had lost his only son, daughter-in-law and grandson in the span of a few weeks.
“He had always dreamed of waiting for his grandchildren at that very cross walk. So now he goes there everyday and watches the children. He said it feeds his soul.”
I enjoyed this story, but it wasn’t captivating and riveting like I hoped it would be. I still finished and am happy to have read it.

Two people experience painful losses in their lives but are lucky enough to meet each other and take another chance at a fulfilling love. A great story which was well written and a joy to read. Strongly recommend.
Julianne and Jokob have both experienced heartache and heartbreak. When they meet, and finally get to know each other, they learn to live life in the now and experience everything going on around them. This book left me with a whirlwind of emotions, and once I started it, I couldn’t put it down.
Bridge to Us by Jeanne Felfe is an intense story about lost loves, found love and everything in between. This story will have you turning pages well into the night to find out what will happen to Julianne after her divorce from Clay. What will happen to Jokob after losing his wife and newborn son. There is tragedy, romance, drama, and people living their lives and falling in love.
I enjoyed reading this story that I received a part of a Quirky Blind Date with an author and I always review every book that I read. I highly recommend this second chance love story. It is a clean story that will have you holding your breath and it will have your heart wrenching as you read it. I highly recommend this well written story.
Julianne has been betrayed by the person she loved. She was in the dark that her husband Clay was no longer happy in the marriage and is blindsided to come home to a completely empty home. Because of her Catholic upbringing, she is in no hurry to divorce but after encountering the woman Clay left her for, she realizes she has no choice.
Jokob has lost the love of his life to cancer. He doesn’t know how to go on without her, so he spends his time immersed in his work as a photographer.
Julianne and Jokob meet at an exhibit of his photography and begin a friendship that starts to turn into much more.
The Art of Healing is a story of two individuals that have found love, encountered loss, and been dealt with great hardship. It is more than a love story or romance novel, but instead a look into the lives of Julianne and Jokob and how they work at healing deep wounds. Can they find love again?
