Detective Austin Michaels didn’t think life could get any better after he was accepted into the most notorious narcotics task force on the East Coast, headed up by two of the baddest’ Lieutenants with the Atlanta Police Department – Cashel Godfrey and Leonidis Day. Michaels knew he would fit right in as the team’s sniper, having received his fair share of commendations for marksmanship. He was … just as badass as the rest of the twenty brothers that made up their team. But when Michaels lets their prime suspect get away from a huge bust with over a quarter of a million dollars in drugs, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make it right. Left with no other options, God chooses to bring in outside help, calling on his long-time friend and bounty hunter, Judge Josephson. Judge was considered one of the best trackers during his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. After retiring, he used those skills to become one of the most sought out fugitive trackers in the country. When Judge gets a call from his old friend needing his help, he quickly tells God, yes.Still embarrassed, and intent to prove himself, Michaels immediately volunteers to partner up with Judge to get their suspect back quickly and quietly. Neither man wanted or needed a partner. But, after Judge and Michaels get on the road, the hate/lust relationship they quickly develop between them will either make them heroes… Or get them killed.

I LOVE THESE BIG BADASSES
And they really make it worse my kink for big tough men
So we met Micheals in Here Comes Troubles, and i was so curious about him ‘ cause he seemed no rough enough for God&Day’ task force… But i was so so wrong
He’s a sniper and a great detective, but he is also a man who crave love. And love for him gonna come in the shape of a big scary bounty hunter: Judge
Judge is a loner for choice: his only partner is Bookem, his dog.
The hate ( lust ) between the two of them is immediate, but we all know that the line between love and hate is very subtle….
Their story is adrenaline, hot and also sweet.
That’s what i like most of AE Via’s books: they are full of action and the Task Force job is not just a surface contour; it’s an important part of the story.
getting bored is impossible with God & Day ‘ family
Another great installment in the Nothing Special series. This one revolves around around Austin Michaels, a sniper on God and Day’s team, and Judge Josephson, a bounty hunter and Army friend of God’s.
Michaels is pretty much a loner, not by choice but because most of his friends-slash-co-workers have found a partner and are in committed relationships. Little does he know that’s gonna change after he’s paired up with Judge to find a drug dealer who had gotten away from God’s team during a raid.
Other than God, I’d say that Judge is the closest in comparison—big, scary, and uber-alpha badass. Good thing Michaels holds his own as well. Plus, let’s face it, when these big dudes find love they turn into teddy bears , even if only for a short while!
Lots of action, extremely hot sexy times, and loads of laughs (obviously whenever Day is around!) easily made Don’t Judge a five-star read for me!
5 stars
Heat Level: 4
Narration: 5
My favorite one yet!!
I love Judge and Austin! So much heat, healing, back and forth, sass and steam! I loved it!
The story takes place a few years after the last book and Michaels has been on the team for 3 years. He’s established himself as one of the team but has begun to feel lonely in his personal life and a little envious of all the couples that make up the team. When a big bust goes a little sideways, Michaels wants nothing more than to redeem himself. When God brings in an old friend to find the mark, Micheals volunteers to go along. Little does he know that Judge Josephson is his ‘dream’ man and his perfect match. I love the back and forth between these to alpha men and their lust and miscommunications as they get to know each other on the journey to find their mark. When tragedy strikes Judge, he pulls back and withdraws from Austin (and is rather cruel too) which breaks them apart and almost breaks both men. They have to face the truth of their connection and face what they really want for their future before its too late.
I loved the journey and emotions throughout this story. These two are ridiculously hot together and I loved that Miceals finally got the happy ending he deserved. I can’t wait to revisit all the couples in the next book!!!

I am all about a book with some sexual tension and this book had it in spades. There was a lot of sassy banter that kept things interesting between Judge and Michaels. Just like the previous books, the egos were a bit through the roof but at this point that is pretty standard for this group of guys. It was nice to see that Michaels had come into his own a bit with being on the task force. When we met him in the previous book, he seemed to be a little bit ‘overeager puppy’. But clearly joining the taskforce with God and Day and being able to show off his talents resulted in some character development because he went from overeager puppy to angry dog. I am happy that we got the epilogue and were able to see him and Judge in a calm setting and how sweet they were with each other.
I always enjoy the side stories in these books, i.e., the catching of criminals, seeing the characters doing their jobs, and the obstacles they have to work through that we don’t normally get in romances. It shakes the books up a bit.
