the most wonderful, beautiful, and satisfying conclusion i’ve read. krista and becca ritchie knew what these characters needed as their endings and they did not disappoint. i’ve read this a while ago, but i still come back to reread my favorite scenes.
This was an amazing read…I’m so glad I’ve have met these incredible characters.
I want to say thank you to Krista and Becca Ritchie for this extended epilogue and for all the words they have written in this unforgettable series.
I can’t wait to read the first spin-off 🙂
“Never say goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.”
I will not give anything away so this is a SPOILER FREE review. I will keep it general and talk about my feelings for this book.
I can’t believe I didn’t cry as much as I thought I would. I am really proud of myself for not bursting into tears every page. Normally I stay far away from series that are 3 or more books but I wish the Addicted series would never end. The characters: Lily, Rose, Daisy, Connor, Loren and Ryke have impacted me so much. I can’t believe how much I love them. I lived their lives with them. I went through all the bad and good things with them. I laughed, cried, got mad/sad/jealous/frustrated with them. I was in pain when they were in pain. Each and every one of them are so imperfectly PERFECT. They are all so different from one another but they fit perfectly like a puzzle.
“You should’ve listened to me. Ninety-nine percent of your problems would go away.” He flips me off. “Ninety-nine percent of my fucking problems are you, Cobalt.”
I can write a book with my feelings for this series, they affected me that much. This book is the conclusion to my all time favorite series. We have our main three couples: Lily & Loren, Rose & Connor and Daisy and Ryke. They all went through so much to get to this point. Some Kind of Perfect shows us what happens to them from 2018-2028, it is more of a snapshot of different events in their lives. In my opinion Krista & Becca really balanced out the events because you have sad ones, happy ones, funny ones etc. I just know that every time I miss the gang I will pull out this book to spend time with them.
I just loved reading about all the discussions between Rose & Lo, Connor & Ryke and ofcourse CONNOR & ROSE! They all have such intriguing relationships, but they are so perfect for each other.
I also love all the kids and their friendship. They all are so different but one thing they have all in common and that is their loyalty and love for their family.
“I’ve always loved winning, but I would lengthen the time it takes us to reach the end, just to spend one more second with you.”
I just can’t wait for the spin-off series. I need to know more about all the kids and of course I want to read about their parents as well. Krista & Becca can go so many directions with the spin-off series and I am dying to find out what will happen. Some Kind of Perfect was the PERFECT conclusion to this series!
As sad as I am to see the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series come to an end, I was very impressed with this book. You spend so much time getting to know these characters and completely falling in love with them that you have a hard time letting them go. Basically this is like one long extended epilogue for both series. You get to see what each of the 3 families is into in the future. You are introduced to every single one of their children. You get this all from 6 POV. The story is told by Lily, Loren, Rose, Connor, Daisy and Ryke. This sounds like it would be confusing, but it is not! As sad as I always was to see the end of each book in the series, this one was super sad for me because I knew it was the end of their stories. You get to see what they are doing 10 years into the future. There is no HEA with these families, because they keep on living. They keep on working to make their relationships the best that each one can be. That’s what makes these books special. There is no cliff hanger, no happily ever after. There is a sense that these characters live on after you are done getting a glimpse into their lives.
This is one of my all-time favorite series. I seriously sound like a broken record every time I talk about this series. The characters, their relationships with each other, the humor, the authors. I love everything about these books.
While I enjoyed Addicted to You a lot, it was Addicted for Now that made me ultimately fall in love with these characters and care about their well-being. I find parts of myself in every single character: like Lily’s love of pop culture and Rose’s drive and Ryke’s inability to not say the word “fuck” every few minutes.
This is hands down one of the best NA series ever. It promotes a sense of self-worth, there’s no girl-hate ever, there’s never any unnecessary drama or miscommunication, and it’s always entertaining.
Some Kind of Perfect takes place in between the last chapter of Long Way Down and the epilogue which is ten years later. It is 100% character driven, and a sort of photo album, showing highlights and low-lights of everyone’s lives throughout the years. So this book is mostly for the avid fans of the series. But for anyone who loves these characters and care about the journey they’ve been through this book will be like a punch to the heart. THIS BOOK MANAGED TO SURPASS ALL OF MY EXPECTATIONS I LOVED EVERY PAGE.
Rose, you are so strong and independent. Every time I’m having a bad day I try to channel my inner Rose to get through it. Connor, you’re probably the character I have the least in common with, but your arrogance and self-confidence never fail to make me laugh.
Lily, your love of all things pop culture and social awkwardness remind me so much of myself it’s scary. Lo, you definitely have had the biggest transformation of every character here, you have grown so much it’s been remarkable to read about. You are a completely different person from the one I first read about. And the fact that you are a Marvel elitist is one of my favorite things about you.
Ryke, when it comes to the people you love you would literally walk through hell for them, you are easily one of the most selfless people I’ve ever read about. Daisy, you are so beautiful inside and out. You’re wild and free, and you have one of the biggest hearts.
Willow, I think if you were real you’d be like my best friend. Garrison, your love for the internet and Supernatural almost rivals mine.
This was pretty much a mess of a review, but I just love this series so much I had to get all of my emotions out. The Addicted Series will always be one of my favorite series ever.
Also I can never thank Krista and Becca enough for creating such genuine characters and an unforgettable story.
Moments of greatness amidst an onslaught of verbose descriptions of child-rearing.
