Dysfunctional empires were made to fall.I am Caesar. Broken and conflicted. I am a man who gives false goodness to those who crave it. I provide solace to the ones who beg to be saved, giving them the goodbyes they want. But, my quiet little world is about to be shattered by the whispers from heaven and hell.I am Mateo. Unlovable and unworthy. I am the boy everyone runs from. I keep love close to … unworthy. I am the boy everyone runs from. I keep love close to me in little jars of perfection, reminding me of a thousand goodbyes I never had to say, because I left them before they could leave me.
I am Svetlana. Dirty and used. Birthed into brutality while still trying to comprehend my version of normal. I am an injured lamb, eaten by filthy wolves day after day. Just as salvation seems like it’s within reach, a goodbye from this awful world is all that I wish for.

This book has me thinking what kinda warped mind I’ve got as I literally inhaled this book in one sitting… Maybe with a few little breathers to grab some alcohol lol
As soon as I read the warning I couldn’t resist reading it. However it didn’t prepare me for the depths of darkness these two authors would take me to. On several occasions while reading this I couldn’t believe what I was reading.
I couldn’t believe how much I wanted to devour this warped intense dark read. Does that make me warped??? Maybe it does lol however I read this as the erotic horror fiction that it is.
Have I mentioned the ending? Oh my dayz. Speechless!!!
Please read this warning before you 1-click. If you like the dark warped kinda read then give this a go. Be warned its a twisted read that will push your boundaries for the dark side.
Looking forward to reading more by these two fantastic authors.
**Graphic content warning including detailed depiction of brutal, bloody acts. Physical and emotional abuse is also apparent throughout this book with graphic sex scenes, both consensual and non-sensual. Reader discretion is highly advised. Not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen or those who are easily offended by the above mentioned acts.**
If you decide to ride this ride, read the warning first. You have to be a certain kinda twisted to fully appreciate this story. Cover your eyes and look through your fingers, you know you want to.
This is an no holds bar, dark, taboo, twisted story. This isn’t dark romance either. The characters are deeply scared, flawed, and completely original. I know you heard this before, but you have never read something like this before. I took this journey knowing that the authors took a chance, they went where the story took them, no matter the consequence. And I loved every bit. I can’t help but want the unknown, I stand on the edge, I wanted someone to push my boundaries, these two delivered. Be prepared.
Nothing is easy in real life, the things we don’t talk about, right? This book grabs fake and slashes it’s throat. Let’s get to the nitty gritty that people really do go through. What happens behind closed doors, or in broad day light, what happens in our worst nightmares. Never to say out loud. This is fiction, but it will make you think. Diving into the mind of the mentally unstable, the broken.
After I read this book, I researched the topics, the actual place, and I was shocked, slightly sick, and more intriguing than I had originally thought. The authors left nothing unspoken. They wrote a story that blows dark books out of the water, they went there. They set a bar, one that will be hard to top. Did I enjoy it? Yep, I loved the twistedness I felt in my stomach, the drop of my jaw, and most importantly the dysfunctional thoughts in my mind. This book pushed my morals out the window. Goodbye.
If you like to walk in a dark alley in a mini skirt, grab this, then let it grab you. Hold on and enjoy the fucking ride.
Tw at bottom contain spoilers
This book was recommended to me as one of the darkest around. I will say it is definitely dark I mean how could it now be when our main characters run a underground red market (black market for organs) Ceasar is the goodbye man the head honcho of this nefarious endeavor. He is quite a conundrum and kudos to the authors for giving him a disorder I’ve never seen in a book before. He runs his house of horrors with his nephew Matteo who has a very dark proclivity for the “donors”
Enter Svetlana an abused girl with connections to Ceaser from her past. Used as a whore to fuel her fathers drug addiction in the most horrid ways. Both men are drawn to her while also reviling her. Ceaser “rescues” her away to his Den of depravity and the sickness begins.
This book will hit every trigger and then some DO NOT read this book if you are in any way sensitive to extremely graphic depictions of violence, rape, or any other horrific idea that could come into your head. While I liked the idea and plot the execution was a bit lacking for me it’s told in a multiple POV that becomes quite repetitive. The scenes were simply repeated through all three povs. The “twist” was very obvious unfortunately for me. This is not a romance at all more of a tale of woe and svetlana being manipulated and evolving into her own depravity to please the only two men that have ever shown her any tenderness.
Ends in a cliffhanger for book two
Tw: rape, abuse, murder, human trafficking, incest, necrophilia
dark read that ran the fine line between romance and horror
This started out a very strong deliciously dark read –
I was looking for a dark read that ran the fine line between romance and horror – and boy did this deliver!
I was so engrossed I had to fight my inner demon to keep her from peeking ahead
I am not sure what occurred but suddenly I just fell out of the story – I am not sure if it was the shift in tone, character emotions – or just me
I did not finish the story as of the time I am writing this review – I stopped at about 60 %
I will probably restart and try again in a couple weeks – It really started out everything I love in a dark read – I hope to retry again at a later date
