The night Mel escaped, Luke’s sister was kidnapped. Mel left something behind that she needs and now Luke has it. She must return to the alpha’s compound to get her belonging back. While at the compound she realizes that Luke’s sister has been hexed and Luke needs her help to get the hex removed. Will Mel be able to help Luke and his sister? I love this book, the characters are great and the story is amazing. There is still a lot going one behind the scenes.
This is the second book in the series and it continues to grip and draw you into the magical world the author has created. I like that it starts just after the first leaves off and doesn’t spend masses of time rehashing what has already happened. The characters and the readers are instead plunged into the next part of the drama. The world and the characters are still fascinating. Mel has attitude but with a lot of heart behind it. Luke is charming, sexy and sweet. There is great chemistry between the characters, whether it’s in the form of romance, sibling relationships or friendship. I love the side characters like Krista, Bob and Maya they add humour and depth beyond simple romance. I also really enjoyed the way the supernatural was woven into the everyday and ordinary to help create such a memorable world.
This is the second book in the Stealing the Alpha, a shifter paranormal trilogy. The story continues where the first book left off. Luke and Mel’s novella is fast-paced and intriguing. The story ends abruptly with a cliffhanger. The author is also the narrator. She did a good job with the narration.
What an adventure!
From Wisconsin to Denver to Mexico City, Mel and Lucas go to whatever lengths necessary to save Lucas’ sister from the effects of a hex. The ending is so dramatic, and leaves you wanting more more more!
Part 2 of a 3 part serial. In this one, Mel and Luke have to work together to help get rid of a hex. Since Mel is a thief that stole from Luke in the first book, their relationship isn’t exactly friendly, but there’s an attraction there. Mel being a thief isn’t very honorable, so that also gets in the way of romance; plus, Mel has walls built up. Entertaining story with some steam! I’m not a fan of serials, but I’m enjoying this one so far. I of course love the shifter aspect, and the addition of the magical aspects were fun. Also, there’s a bit of action and adventure, which was interesting. I liked the banter between Mel and Luke too; some good chemistry there. As with serials, there’s a cliffhanger, so you’ll need to read the whole series for the full story. I listened to this story on Author’s direct with the author narrating. I enjoyed the listening experience; she did a good job! Looking forward to reading the finishing part!
I was so happy to hear an author narrate their own book. I think Kate did a wonderful job and the story was very engaging. This book is in the middle so I was a little lost as to the connections but I got the first book so I should be on track for the third one. Kate always comes up with storylines that keep you interested throughout. Now the narration could be better only in that she only changed inflection with the Alpha and some of the females. Other than that I kept listening and enjoyed the whole product.
